Nail Art: OPI Wing It! Konadicure Using Konad Image Plates m57 & m78

OPI Wing It Swatches“Butterfly in the sky. I can go twice as high! Take a look. It’s in a book. A reading rainbow!” (Couldn’t help but make a nerdy Reading Rainbow reference. Who else remembers watching that show as a kid?)

Today’s Konadicure using OPI Wing It! is one of the girliest manicures I’ve ever sported. And to be honest, I wasn’t feelin’ it. Tried something different than my usual greens and purples, so give me credit for that.

After painting my nails with OPI Wing It!, I wasn’t sure which Konad image plate to use, so I took a cue from the polish name and went with butterflies! (Mariah Carey, eat your heart out!)

What do you think of the outcome? Good? Bad? Fugly? Don’t worry about hurting my feelings…I have none! Haha, just kidding. I wasn’t in love with this design, either. Continue reading →

Valentines Day SwatchesDear Pink Polish,

I know that I haven’t spent as much time with you as I would’ve liked. It’s not you. It’s me. I can’t help but be more attracted to greens, blues, and purples. And yes, playing the field is fun.

But it’s February, and Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it. Maybe Cupid finally got me with his arrows, but I saw you lying among the other polishes and I felt sorry to have neglected you all these years.

So for one week, let’s have a fun night out on the polish town. I’ll show you around, so put on your cutest Konadicure!

Nail Art: Funky Purple Zebra Manicure Using the Konad m57 Image Plate – Konad Nail Art Swatches

Zebra Print Konadicure Swatches smallerKonad stamping kits have intrigued me for a long time because a) I’ve never dabbled in nail art before and b) Konad stamping nail art is supposed to be easy to use.

There were a couple of Konad Special Nail Polishes and a few Konad Image Plates in my stash. But it wasn’t until last month when I went a little crazy (okay, a lot crazy) and bought tons of new image plates by Konad!

Finally sucked up the courage to try my hand at some nail art. To my delight, it really is easy to do. Although it was my first time doing it, the results were impressive – looked like I had spent a lot more time to achieve this purple and black Konad zebra nail art!

OPI Do You Lilac It? Swatches & Review

OPI Do You Lilac It SwatchesOPI Do You Lilac It? is one of those rare colors that does absolutely nothing for me in the bottle. But then I put it on my nails, and wow!

Even though it’s a soft hue, it still packs a big punch against my skintone somehow. And depending on the light, it looks a little different to me.

In sunlight, it looks like a springy pastel purple, but in dim artificial light, it takes on a purple-grayish appearance that’s in a similar vein as OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?, which is another favorite of mine.

OPI Glow Up Already SwatchesCreme-finish polishes look sophisticated, but sometimes you want your nails to get all the attention. Sometimes you want to compete with the disco ball. And sometimes you want to make drag queens jealous.

OPI Glow Up Already! fits the bill because it’s so blingy. This glitter polish may look like your standard green, but when you take a closer look at your nails, you’ll see that it’s more complex and unique than that.

What I like about it is that you can use it as a top coat (like what I did here), or you can apply more than one coat to achieve greater opacity. This is a versatile polish that wakes up any boring creme polish with just enough razzle dazzle! Continue reading →

OPI Who the Shrek Are You? Swatches & Review

OPI Who the Shrek Are You SwatchesSome people see a cute puppy and want to take it home. Others check out a hot guy at the bar and want to take him home. I see green nail polish and just have to have it!

But sometimes I’m let down. Such was the case with OPI Who the Shrek Are You? from the Shrek Forever After Collection.

The snot-green color wasn’t what put me off as you might think. In fact, I actually dig the color because it reminds me of spring and I can’t wait until winter’s over.

Find out why I was so disappointed in this color, and why it doesn’t live up to OPI standards.

OPI DS Extravagance Swatches & Review

OPI Extravagance SwatchesThere are some nail polishes that are so mesmerizing, they take your breath away even from the first coat. OPI DS Extravagance is one of them.

This is a scattered holographic polish I’ve worn several times because the formula is pure perfection. It has zero application issues – flows smoothly on the nails, goes on thin and workable, dries quickly, and has great pigmentation.

Now let’s talk about the color (the most exciting part)! It’s this wonderful berry purple with holographic sparkles that flash in a rainbow of hues. It’s lively. It’s pretty. It’s a firework for your nails!

Although I tried to capture the essence of OPI Designer Series Extravagance in my pictures, this is a polish you must look at in person to really see how gorgeous it is! Continue reading →
