Color Club Too Violet Swatches & Review

Color Club Too Violet Swatches & ReviewColor Club Too Violet was part of a limited-edition Japanese collection. I’ve only seen it sold online, and from one etailer that only ships to the States.

This gorgeous polish was very difficult to capture because it’s so intense and there’s a lot going on.

It’s a purple scattered holo that sparkles like something fierce! Even in very poor, low lighting, the holo particles dance on your nails.

If you’re able to track this one down for a reasonable price, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favourite purple holographic polishes to wear!

Misa Phazers on Stunning Swatches & Review

Misa Phazers on Stunning Swatches & ReviewIf nail polish in general speaks to me, then green nail polish speaks to me with a sexy Spanish accent that’s accompanied by a smouldering gaze!

Although Misa Phazers on Stunning is very beautiful and tried to serenade me like a hardcore romantic, it was only like for me, not love or lust.

What stands out about this polish is that it has that ‘glow’ where it catches the light and seems to light up like a firefly.

This is exactly the kind of polish that I love to take to the next level with nail-stamping designs.

Nail Art Tutorial: Tuxedo Nails

Tuxedo Nails Nail Art Tutorial & PicturesDid you watch the Golden Globe Awards? I only got a chance to catch some of the red-carpet arrivals and then I was on the road.

I was excited when Ryan Seacrest pointed out Zooey Deschanel’s nails, which looked like adorable tuxedos!

It reminded me that for a while now, I’ve been wanting to do a nail art tutorial for how to do easy Tuxedo Nails.

Here’s a different version than hers, but it’ll still get your fingers on the Best Dressed List. 😉

You’ll notice that I also opted not to use white, which is traditional for this look.

Hope you’ll also play around with all sorts of untraditional colours. (Consider ditching the black bow tie for something bright and whimsical instead!)

In this post, you’ll also notice that I’ve been playing around with image sizes. Please let me know in the comments if you prefer fewer, but much-larger photos or many, but smaller photos. Also, please let me know if these larger photos make the post much slower to load than my usual posts. I appreciate your feedback! Continue reading

Nail Art: Pink & Black Star Konadicure Swatches & Review

Black & Pink Star Nail Stamping Konad Image Plate m84 Pictures & Review smallerTwo weeks ago, I reviewed a mini bottle of Quo by Orly True Love. Although it was nice, I mentioned how I stamped over it to make it more me.

This Pink & Black Star Konadicure was the result!

I stamped the full-nail star pattern from Konad Image Plate m84 over my manicure using the black Konad Special Nail Polish.

Since it was my first time using the m84 Konad plate, I’ve included a photo of it as well as a brief review of this pattern near the end of this post in case you’re interested.

Also, my cuticles are really messy because I did a quick job at removing the black polish from my skin. My ‘secret’ is just letting the shower remove the rest of the polish – much easier! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to snap photos of the cleaned-up version. Hope you don’t mind. 🙂 Continue reading

Nubar Midnight Glory Swatches & Review

Nubar Midnight Glory Swatches & ReviewRecently, I found out that my sister-in-law is pregnant again, but this time with a baby girl!

Although every child is a blessing, I am extremely thrilled that the XX chromosomes were triumphant.

When I heard the news, I was picturing her growing old enough for me to paint her tiny nails.

I would totally bust out all my cutest nail polishes and also give her adorable Konadicures. Guess it’s weird how I’m already thinking up designs for her since she’s not even born, but I can’t help it! I’m excited!

To commemorate my soon-to-be niece, I wanted to wear a pink polish…but, well, you all know how I feel about most pinks on me. So, instead, I decided to wear Nubar Midnight Glory, which flashes pink. And, I guess the blue can represent my little-but-always-getting-bigger nephew, who is a cutie.

P.S. I’m trying to ‘claim’ my blog on Bloglovin’, and in order to do that, I have to put the following link on this post: Follow my blog with Bloglovin Continue reading

Sally Hansen Project Runway Swatches & Review

Sally Hansen Project Runway Swatches & ReviewSally Hansen Project Runway used to be the Polish That Got Away!

I first laid lustful eyes on the coveted colour when I was shopping at the grocery store with my boyfriend.

I asked him what he thought of this green polish. He replied, “It’s okay. But don’t you have so many colours like that already?”

“Forget about shoes – women can never have too many nail polishes!” I said in my head.

But he was right. I had soooo many polishes. Did I really need yet another green nail polish?

With much hesitation, I put the orphan back, and I had to avoid looking into its sad-yet-hopeful eyes.

When I came home, I stumbled upon a blog post about that exact shade and how hard it was to find. So the next day, I went back to rescue the poor polish, but…it was gone! My precccioouussss!

Since that incident, I had been looking for it every time I went to the grocery store and every time I went to any drugstore. Then, mannnny months later, I casually perused a random clearance bin at a salon.

Looking back at me was a rectangular Sally Hansen Salon bottle. Could it be? No, it couldn’t! Yes! We were reunited, and nothing could ever split us apart!

I squealed, cradled it, and made a mad dash to the cashier before anything could distract me. So, you see, sometimes you can find what you’re looking for when you least expect it!

If there’s a colour you missed out on, keep the faith. You never know where it could turn up! Continue reading

China Glaze Peachy Keen Swatches & Review

China Glaze Peachy Keen Swatches & ReviewWhile I’ve worn saturated orange polishes before, this is my first peach polish!

I thought that on others, peach looked delicious, but that China Glaze Peachy Keen wouldn’t work with my skintone. So, I didn’t blink an eye at a peach polish.

As a result, that eye became very dry. Mr. Eyeball pulled me aside, gave me a stern lecture about eye functioning, and said that if I don’t blink, he’ll go on strike. He said that he already had the protest sign painted.

Now when I hear about peach polishes, I blink an eye – both of my eyes, simultaneously, just so one doesn’t claim unfair discrimination.

(The last time I had to go into Eyeball Court, the verdict was harsh. I suspect it was because the judge’s name was Iris…) The law is never on my side. Continue reading
