Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Review & Pictures

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Review & PicturesArgan oil comes from a tree and is rich in Vitamin E, carotenes, essential fatty acids, and other good stuff. It has been touted as being a restorative miracle for hair and skin conditions.

So when I caught wind of the Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner, I was pretty psyched to try them out.

I’ve been testing them out for over 2 weeks now, so I feel confident about sharing my experience with you now.

As you may already know, I have tresses that need to be tamed on a daily basis with a flat iron. And if you’ve followed Swatch And Learn on Twitter, you may have seen my tweet about how my hair is the best indicator for humidity, unfortunately because it gets frizzy.

So did these two Organix Argan oil products perform miracles on my hair? Do they live up to the hype? Find out! Continue reading

Best Drugstore Beauty Products & Finds

It’s gee-golly swell if you can afford to drop $30 on a lip gloss and $50 on a face primer. But really, a lot of us just don’t have the budget to do that – not even once in a while!

So when it comes to beauty products, I’ve learned not to discriminate. I’ve also learned that there are a lot of great drugstore products out there that do an awesome job, but for way less. You end up getting more makeup and products that you love for the money you’re willing to spend. And who doesn’t love that? 🙂

Today, I want to share with you the best drugstore beauty products & finds that I’ve come across. Let me know if you agree with any of these or if there are products you’d recommend! Continue reading

The Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without

Products I Use Every DayThere were lots of products that I fell in love with. But sometimes things just weren’t meant to be. They started seeing other people. And they made up lame excuses for sneaking out in the middle of the night. Needless to say, the relationship was cut short.

Of course I was heartbroken, but new products entered my life. Some took me for dinner and a movie. Others serenaded me with a Spanish guitar. And one special product made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

Here are the products that I’ve been faithful to because they’ve never let me down when I needed them. We plan to grow old together and celebrate many happy anniversaries. Continue reading

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme Review & Pictures

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

My hair’s been good to me; it’s quite low-maintenance. I wish I could say I’m good to it. Lately, I’ve been lazy and sleeping in later than usual. So to cut steps, I don’t blow dry my hair before I go. Not a bad thing if it were summer, but to go out in freezing cold temperatures is really bad on wet hair. It causes breakage and more flyaways than an airport.

This is why I love the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme. It’s stood by me in summer and winter, in hot and cold temps, in dry and humid days, and on good and bad hair days. So it’s about time I shine a little spotlight on it! Continue reading

Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal Review & Pictures

Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal ReviewI’ve been in lots of hairy situations where my tresses simply didn’t cooperate. It sometimes has a life of its own.

Years ago, I had a laissez-faire attitude and let my natural hair texture have its way, but not anymore.

Naturally, it’s wavy verging on the curly side, but for a few years now, I’ve been taming that bad boy with my trusty flat iron. That’s right – on a daily basis, I apply high heat to my hair. (You can shake your head now. My hairstylist did.)

And it seems like every time I get my hair trimmed, I always get suckered into buying an expensive haircare product. This time it was Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal.

While I’ve had many great haircare recommendations from stylists over the years, I must say that this was the best new product I ever took a chance on. (And it certainly didn’t come cheap! I think my wallet’s still breaking out into cold sweats at night!)

Let me tell you why I’ll definitely repurchase this despite the exorbitant price. Continue reading

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & ConditionerMy naturally wavy hair is like a wild animal, which can actually be fun sometimes. But I like to tame it into submission most days. Straight tresses just fit into my lifestyle better right now.

So when I saw that the Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner were just $4 CAD at the Semi-Annual Hello Yellow Sale, it was a no-brainer. Picked up a bottle of each and was really excited to test them out in the shower that night.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Shampoo or Conditioner because it seems like I usually have to buy expensive haircare before I notice positive results.

Love how I was proved wrong! This Dynamic Duo really saves me from bad hair days! It smells okay, leaves my hair feeling (and looking) clean, and best of all, helps my hair get sleek during styling later on. Let me tell you more about it! Continue reading
