Nail Art: Zoya Skittle Manicure Using 4 Colours from the Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012 Collection

Zoya Surf & Beach 2012 Collection Skittle Manicure SwatchesFrom the minute I first saw the colours from the Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012 Collection all lined up and pretty, an idea for a skittle manicure came to mind. (I used Zoya Reagan, Lara, Shelby, and Arizona!)

You’ll remember that I previously did a neon skittle manicure and loved the way it turned out. So I had to try more skittle nails!

I have a tough time pulling off pinks, but with the gradient effect, it seems to work.

Okay, maybe you’re thinking, “That orange looks out of place.” Instead of accenting my ring finger (aka my candy-corn-shaped nail), the baby finger and my thumb got the royal treatment.

As you know, I don’t usually wear pink nail polish (unless it’s neon, of course), and the orange made it more wearable for me…probably because it’s an unexpected touch. (Plus my pinkie finger is such a rebellious little guy.) ๐Ÿ˜‰

It hit me – if you use just the pink polishes for your skittle manicure, you could totally rock this in October for Breast Cancer Awareness!

Nail Art Tutorial: Easter Egg Nails

Easter Egg Nails Nail Art Tutorial & PicturesWell, lookie here. Mr. Tom Thumb decided to make an appearance. “What better occasion than for the unveiling of Easter Egg Nails?” He told me.

(Don’t tell him, but he’s kind of a hot head, thinking that he’s better than the other fingers just because he’s bigger. And he keeps talking about how without him, humans wouldn’t be able to brag about having opposable thumbs…or play an octave on the piano with one hand. *Pfft*)

Today I’m going to show you how this Easter nail design is very easy to do. I’ll walk you through it step-by-step with written instructions as well as photos so you can see the process and not just the end result.

Nail Art: Neon Ombre/Skittle Manicure Swatches & Review

Neon Ombre Swatches & ReviewA few days ago, I reached for my trusty bottle of China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. (It’s one of my all-time favourite polishes, and I’ve worn it over 10 times.)

After removing that manicure, I was still in the mood for a neon, but I couldn’t decide on one to wear. So what did I do? I decided to wear 4 of them at once in a Neon Ombre/Skittle Manicure!

All of these colours come from the China Glaze Poolside Collection. I’ve worn 5 of the colours from this collection and have blogged about 3 of them.

I’ve seen ombre and skittle nail art everywhere, and I’ve always wanted to try it. Finally I joined the bandwagon! ๐Ÿ˜‰

In person, these colours are as bright as highlighter markers! They scream summer to me, and I’m still wearing it because I can’t bring myself to remove it yet.

Nail Art Tutorial: Pot of Gold Nails

Pot of Gold Nails Nail Art Tutorial & SwatchesA couple of days ago, I brought you a shamrock nail-art design I came up with. Today, I have Pot of Gold Nails!

This is a very quick look that you can whip up in no time.

But, if you have some extra time to spend, consider adding a rainbow that leads to the gold. You could also put a metallic dollar-sign on the pot.

Hope that you like this easy design. It was pretty fun wearing this on my fingertips. But I was on the lookout for any leprechauns that would come to claim their treasure. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nail Art: Shamrock Nails

Shamrock Nails Nail Art Swatches & PicturesFour-leaf clovers, horseshoes, and poor little rabbits’ paws are all considered to be good-luck charms.

While I do believe that some people are graced with good luck in certain situations, I don’t believe that carrying around these ‘charms’ does anything except calm your nerves. (That being said, a couple of years ago, I dressed up as Lady Luck for Hallowe’en and won first place for Best Female Costume.) ๐Ÿ˜€

The only kind of lucky charm that I enjoy is the edible kind – the Lucky Charms cereal…hehe!

To honour St. Patrick’s Day in advance, I decided to do these easy Shamrock Nails.

Why the fishnet design? Why not? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I thought having the shamrocks on all the nails would just be boring, and I remembered how much I loved the fishnet pattern the first time I tried it over a red polish.

Looking back now, though, I wish that I did the same design on my thumb’s nail for all of my fingers. I like the combination of the shamrock and the fishnet on the same nail.

Nail Art: Black & Blue Konadicure Using Essie Lapis of Luxury & Konad Image Plate m78

Black & Blue Konadicure Using Konad Image Plate m78 PicturesI was craving a funky manicure, but I didn’t have time to spend on freehand nail art. For times like these, nail stamping comes to the rescue like a caped, lacquered crusader. ๐Ÿ˜‰

To create this Black & Blue Konadicure, I used Essie Lapis of Luxury, which I’ve been dying to try and the trippy full-nail pattern on Konad Image Plate m78.

As you can see, I was in quite a hurry, so the stamping is a bit fuzzy, but in real life (when your nails aren’t blown up to such a large size), the imperfections didn’t show as much.

There are tons of people who are so much better at nail stamping than I am, but the finished look was exactly what I was going for, flaws and all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nail Art Tutorial: Valentine’s Day Nails

Valentine's Day Nails Nail Art Tutorial & PicturesHappy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

I love Valentine’s Day because it serves as a reminder to appreciate the people we’re so lucky and blessed to have in our lives whether you’re happily married or single.

Will you all be my nail Valentine? ๐Ÿ˜‰

It seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve done a nail-art tutorial, and I couldn’t let February 14 roll by without doing something!

So, here are some quick little Valentine’s Day Nails. If you turn your head to the right (or look at my other photos in this post), you’ll see that they have fluffy, white clouds that have lightning and that are raining down a slew of hearts.

My inspiration for this was the cheesy (but fun!) song, It’s Raining Men! Instead of men, though, I thought I’d paint hearts.

This is a very easy manicure that you can whip up in a pinch. Hope that some of you will try it sometime, even if you don’t today. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wish you all love and happiness! Thank you for being the best blog readers in the world – it brings tears to my eyes at how loyal you are!
