Bath & Body Works Merry Cookie Candle Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Merry Cookie Candle Review & PicturesWhoa – it’s been quite some time since I reviewed a scented candle on here!

The most recent one I’ve been burning is the Bath & Body Works Merry Cookie Candle, which (obviously) came out around Christmas.

Although it’s harder to find now, you can still spot a few on clearance.

The packaging is cutesy, and the scent will have you drooling like one of one of Pavlov’s dogs!

OPI What Wizardry Is This? Swatches & Review

OPI What Wizardry is This Swatches & ReviewYesterday, I painted my nails with OPI What Wizardry Is This?, which is from the OPI Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful Collection due out in March.

If you follow me on Instagram, you got a first peek at some bottle shots from the collection that I took quickly with my iPhone on Tuesday. I was so ecstatic, so I had to share!

Andddd…I am still very excited because this is the latest addition to the Liquid Sands series – it’s the 5th one.

It’s different than the Liquid Sands in the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection. In this post, I’ll explain my experience wearing this as a full manicure.

OPI The Impossible Swatches & Review

OPI The Impossible Swatches & ReviewOPI The Impossible from the Mariah Carey Collection reminds me of cherry Jell-o a bit because it has that jellyish look. However, instead of being shiny like a jelly, it has the awesome Liquid Sand finish, which is a matte texture.

It’s safe to say that I’m completely smitten by the Liquid Sands. Everything from the unique concept to the quick dry time floats my polish boat.

I’ve now worn, enjoyed, and reviewed all 4 of the Liquid Sands from the Mariah Carey Collection. And, shortly, I hope to crack open the new Liquid Sand nail polish from the Oz the Great and Powerful Collection!

(By the way, if you haven’t already seen the quick Oz bottle shots I shared on Instagram yesterday, check them out! I think that even those who weren’t excited about the collection before may be more interested now. The glitters are hot stuff!)

Also, everyone, please keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that OPI will put out an emerald-green Liquid Sand! I might faint! (And you all want me to faint, right? Wait a minute…) 😉

But…without further ado, let’s get on with the review of OPI The Impossible!

Haul of Shame: Nail Polishes from Sally Beauty Supply

Sally Beauty Supply Haul & PicturesYesterday, I took my membership card and hit up Sally Beauty Supply because I was running low on my favourite nail-polish remover.

Since I have to make a trek to get to a Sally Beauty Supply store, the occasional time when I go, I make sure to look at everything in all the aisles.

As usual, I walked out not only with what I had original made the special trip for, but also with a handful of other goodies!

Normally I don’t have much luck in finding gems on the nail-polish clearance rack, but this time, I feel like I struck gold unexpectedly!

Come check out my amazing finds in this Sally Beauty Supply Haul!

Smorgasbord Sundays: Finished Knitting a Green Beanie

Finished Knitting a Green HatIs it a flying saucer? Is it a frisbee? Is it an apple pie? No! It’s a Green Beanie I finished knitting!

I did a little bit during each of my commutes to and from work. Knitting really makes the time fly right by. (Plus I have a bad habit of ‘people watching’ on the bus and subway, so by knitting and looking down at my needles, I’m no longer being ‘nosy’…hehe!)

The funny thing? Although this is the third one I’ve made using the same pattern, I think my first attempt (the yellow hat) came out the best! How did that happen? Beginner’s luck?

There are soooooo many mistakes in this green one, even though I tried to be really careful. Being a beginner, I sometimes couldn’t tell when I made a mistake until it was too late to fix it.

Nevertheless, I will still wear and love this green beanie! After all, you know that I’m a greeeen fieeend! 😉 And I actually like how no two hats come out exactly the same – one-of-a-kinds are awesome!

What was exciting to find out after I made this was that the yarn sometimes looks green, but in certain lighting, there seems to be some brown showing! When I looked more closely at the yarn, it’s apparently not a straight green. I love nice surprises like this!

In this post, I’ll show you a few progress photos from start to finish, as well as the hat at different angles and in different lighting. You’ll also find links to the free online pattern I used and the two other beanies I knit (yellow and purple).

I urge you all to try your hand at knitting this. Not only is it fun and rewarding, but it’s verrrry challenging for a beginner. So…when you finish it, you’ll be pleased with the outcome, even if you made lots of mistakes like I did! 🙂 The lumpiness of the pattern conceals even major errors!

OPI Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures Plus New Liquid Sand Shade

OPI Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful Collection Press Release & Promo PicturesThe Wizard of Oz is my favourite movie of all time, so when OPI’s PR sent me a press release about the upcoming limited-edition OPI Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful Collection, my heart was racing!

Sure, I’m excited about the movie, but I’m equally curious about the nail polishes. (Of course. The day when I’m no longer excited about lacquer, please check my wrist for a pulse.) 😉

The collection includes OPI Soft Shades plus a brand new Liquid Sand addition! (You know that I went nuts over the Liquid Sands, so seeing another colour is really cool!)

Edit: I’ve posted some actual bottle shots on Instagram. The glitters are really interesting!
