OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection Swatches & Review

OPI Breakfast at Tiffany's Collection Swatches Review

If you’re a fan of classic films from the 60s, romantic comedies, and iconic stars like Audrey Hepburn like I am, you’ll be squealing for nail joy because the OPI Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection is the latest must-anticipated holiday launch!

With the gift-giving season around the corner, I’ve swatched 12 shades from the collection to help you decide which might make good stocking stuffers for the special nail junkies on your list.

(There are also six Infinite Shine nail polishes in this collection, and I may swatch those at a later date. Let me know if you’d be interested in seeing those.)

I’ve also included the official press release, in case you want to read the colour story behind the polishes.

Zoya Enchanted Collection Swatches & Review

Zoya Enchanted Collection Swatches

The Zoya Enchanted Collection for Winter/Holiday 2016 is like the Little Drummer Boy who doesn’t miss a magical beat!

Although green nail polish makes my heart race, I can’t seem to pick an ultimate favourite out of the bunch.

Featuring four new textured lacquers in the popular PixieDust formula and two shades with a fun flash of colour, the Zoya Enchanted Collection makes a great stocking stuffer for the nail junkie on your Christmas list.

They all offer great pigmentation and full coverage with just two coats. Additionally, the top-notch formulas were what I have come to expect from Zoya. (This brand’s consistent!) They glide on easily. The shimmers are effortless, and the PixieDusts apply evenly.

As with most textured nail polishes, the PIxieDusts dry rapidly, which makes them a great choice for when you need a quick manicure and to be out the door. They’re also easy to remove, so you won’t need to scrub your poor fingers.

Zoya certainly hits a home run with this collection. There’s not a single dud among them, in my opinion. There’s a wide variety of colours, which helps to appeal to people with different preferences, and even if you don’t care for textured nail polishes, just slap on a layer or two of a thick glossy top coat to get a glass-like finish.

I really like how this collection doesn’t scream, “Traditional Christmas!” with lots of reds. I enjoy reds, but sometimes it can feel too predictable for a holiday collection.

If you’d like to learn more about the colour story, check out the official Zoya Enchanted Collection press release that I published on the blog a little while ago.

What do you think? Would you have preferred to see a red here, or are you also happy that the Zoya Enchanted Collection offers something a bit different?

Check out the rest of this post to see my swatches and bottle shots!

OPI Suzi – The First Lady of Nails Swatches & Review

OPI Suzi The First Lady of Nails Swatch Review

OPI Suzi – The First Lady of Nails from the Washington DC Collection is a polarizing geese-poop green. You’ll either love it (like I do), or you’ll think that it’s one of those fugly shades.

Earthy greens like OPI Suzi – The First Lady of Nails is a comfort colour in my manicure repertoire. This is totally a “me” hue, and I’m never at a loss when it comes to pairing it with anything in my wardrobe.

With understated elegance, this olive green commands attention without being flashy, and that’s why I’m drawn to it. It expresses mature sentiment while still offering a youthful twist. This dichotomy intrigues me in nail polish and in general.

P.S. Loyal readers will note my little hiatus. A while back, I broke one of my nails very badly in an unfortunate accident. It was the first time that I had ever done that! My nail tore very deep, halfway down the nail bed horizontally, and it was very painful! It has now grown out past the nail line, so I feel comfortable going forward with swatches. (The swatches of OPI Suzi – The First Lady of Nails in this post were taken before my nail broke. Stay tuned because in the near future, I will have new Zoya and OPI holiday nail swatches!)

OPI Never a Dulles Moment Swatches & Review

OPI Never a Dulles Moment Swatches Review

OPI Never a Dulles Moment from the Washington DC Collection is the kind of yellow that would make a canary shake its tail feathers while cocking its head to one side to look thoughtful!

Many people shy away from wearing yellow on their nails for fear of looking like they’ve been struck with a severe case of jaundice, but I urge everyone to try it a few times. Once you find the one with the right undertone, it’ll add that boost of ‘cheer’ that turns your half-empty glass into one that’s half-full.

OPI Yank My Doodle Swatches & Review

OPI Yank My Doodle Swatches Review

Like pumpkin pies and spiced lattes, OPI Yank My Doodle from the Washington DC Collection is sending strong fall vibes!

Advertised as a tawny copper, this creme nail polish features a name that will make the 12-year-old in you giggle.

However, there’s nothing funny about the colour. It’s sophisticated and a departure from many of the hues that I’ve highlighted on the blog before, which is why I’m especially excited to do this review!

This colour is probably one that falls into the ‘granny chic’ category. What can I say? Grannies have good taste!

Pretty Serious Comfy Y-Fronts Swatches & Review

Pretty Serious Comfy Y-Fronts Swatches Review

Pretty Serious Comfy Y-Fronts from the Brand New Undies Collection is a cobalt blue that packs more punch than Wonder Woman confronting a snarky villain.

This is the sort of blue for those dreary days when you’re in the mood for something vibrant and want a nail colour that’ll shake things up!
