FingerPaints Itsy Bitsy Spider Swatches & Review

FingerPaints Itsy Bitsy Spider Swatches & ReviewIf spiders and other creepy crawlers make you squeamish, don’t worry – my review on FingerPaints Itsy Bitsy Spider from the Wild About Spring Collection won’t make you run away screaming obscenities. (Err, at least I hope not!) 😉

You’ll remember that recently on Instagram, I shared a sneak peek of this nail polish. (Follow me on Instagram for those kind of posts as well as non-polish photos!)

The last time I was at Sally Beauty Supply, I perused the clearance shelf. (Many gems show up, and if you’re lucky to be there at the right time, you can get tremendous deals!)

I spied FingerPaints Itsy Bitsy Spider and knew it had to come home with me and weave its web in my Helmer (much to the horror of the other lacquer inhabitants)! 😉

P.S. Stay tuned for a post later this week. I have something very exciting up my blogging sleeve! 😉 If you’re into nail polish, you’ll want to make a point to check it out.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Swatches & Review

Rescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around Swatches & ReviewRescue Beauty Lounge Turn It Around from the Emoting Me Collection is one of the most unique nail polishes I have come across in quite a long time.

Green lacquer is my comfort colour, and swampy greens such as this make me feel like the Frog Prince who got his kiss from the princess. (Can you see my heart beating?) *Ribbit Ribbit*

Turn It Around is absolutely stunning because the green base and copper/rosy shimmer look slightly different, depending on the lighting.

This is one of my new treasures, and I have nothing like this in my stash of 600+ bottles of nail polish!

Good job, Rescue Beauty Lounge, for taking a risk and putting out a nail polish that’s a leader instead of a follower!

China Glaze Sunsational Collection Swatches & Review

China Glaze Sunsational Collection Swatches, Reviews & PhotosSome time ago, I finished reviewing all 12 shades in the China Glaze Sunsational Collection.

When other bloggers do ’round-up’ collection posts, I find them very helpful because you can really see which shades are similar. Those kind of posts also help you scratch off a few from your list to save you some money.

I wear my manicures for at least a day (and often longer). During the time I wear them, I take photos and then review them on here individually.

Since I have done in-depth reviews full of swatches in various lighting conditions and bottle shots for every single colour in the China Glaze Sunsational Collection, I whipped up this post in case you’ll find it helpful. Plus when you see all the colours together, it gives you a better sense of the overall personality and theme. (Normally, I don’t have entire collections.)

In this post, for each colour, I share my ‘snapshot’ opinion on it and a photo. Then, if you’re interested in learning more or seeing multiple swatches of it, you can head over to the provided link for the in-depth review.

Which are your favourites from the China Glaze Sunsational Collection?

Note: All the shades in the ‘Cremes’ half were purchased by me. All the shades in the ‘Jellies’ half were provided by China Glaze.

P.S. Stay tuned this week! I have something very special planned for Swatch And Learn readers. If you like nail polish, you’ll be interested! 😉

Color Club Miss Bliss Swatches & Review

Color Club Miss Bliss Swatches & ReviewWhile looking through my computer, I stumbled upon some old photos from back in April of this stunning holographic nail polish – Color Club Miss Bliss! (Can’t believe I’m only reviewing it now!)

It’s from the Halo Hues 2013 Collection, which lots of nailphiles have raved about because the holographic effect is really strong.

It’s like carrying a rainbow wherever you go! That’s how I like to think of it! Can you tell that I’m a child of the 1980s and a Rainbow Brite fan?

You don’t often find affordable strong holos like this, so it really stands out!

a-england Rose Bower Swatches & Review

a-england Rose Bower Swatches & Reviewa-england Rose Bower from the Burne-Jones Collection is the second a-england nail polish that I’ve ever worn. (You’ll remember getting a sneak peek of it not long ago, if you follow me on Instagram.)

If Dorothy Gale’s ruby slippers had magic fairy dust sprinkled on them, I imagine that they would look like this. Yes, click together 2 nails and say, “There’s no place like home!”

Especially when the sun shines on this polish, it really becomes a looker, and you’ll find it very difficult to stop gawking over it when all the colours come out to play.

Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat Swatches & ReviewIf you’ve been following me on Twitter or Facebook, you may have read my brief messages about how my grandfather passed away a couple of days before Father’s Day this year.

Although I wasn’t close to him, I still felt the loss. Plus, in general, Father’s Day is always hard for me because my dad passed away a few years ago, just days after I turned 28.

I was really worried for my mother because now Father’s Day would remind her not only of her husband who passed away, but now also her dad.

Thankfully, my mom is a tough cookie. In fact, she could break a tooth if you tried to sink one in! 😉 Haha! Seriously, though, she is such a strong person, and she inspires me to handle hardship with grace and perseverance.

Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat is the nail polish I wore to my grandfather’s visitation and the funeral service. (It’s from the Gumdrops Collection.)

I felt like it was appropriate because it has a very sombre personality, but the silver specks symbolized how even in the darkness, there’s always light if we look for it. Maybe I’m philosophizing nail polish too much, but I felt this connection when I wore it.

But I won’t go so far as to peg it as a ‘funeral polish’. It’s truly gorgeous and edgy. Even when I’m in a happy mood, I will enjoy this manicure.

Nicole by OPI Lemon Lolly Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI Lemon Lolly Swatches & ReviewHappy Monday!

What better way to start off the week than with a fun yellow that reminds me of sunshine and egg yolks? 🙂

If you like happy yellow nail polishes like Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Orly Spark, I think you’ll also like Nicole by OPI Lemon Lolly! (This is a Shoppers Drug Mart-exclusive shade, in case any fellow Canadians are wondering.)

It’s part of the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops Collection that features matte texture.

Yes, I’m still on board the texture-nail trend. Hope it stays with us for a long time!
