Milani Runway Eyes Blue Lagoon Shadow Review & Swatches

Hi precious readers! Today, I share with you one of my favorite blue eyeshadows. It’s not by an expensive brand. In fact this little gem cost me under $6 USD! Milani Runway Eyes Blue Lagoon is one of those affordable gems that I love!

Of course, the price is nothing if the product ain’t no good. I wouldn’t pin the Best Eyeshadow blue ribbon on this for staying power, but the color is stunning.

I’ve been on a major green-shadow kick, but now I’m back to blue. It’s a color that can look ice cold or softly angelic…when done correctly. Wear it wrong, and it could totally give off a retro vibe (and not the good kind). But not with this baby – you won’t have to worry about that! Continue reading

Everyday Minerals Volcano Blossom Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Retail therapy is my chosen form of relaxation. When I’m bored or sad, my plastic always suffers. It was one of those BLAH days, and I somehow – without any clue how I got there – ended up on the Everyday Minerals website and started bagging shadows that I’ve wanted for a while now…

It’s a good thing that the shadows are only $7 ($4.50 for the travel sizes). I got quite a few of those (among other things), without totally pulling the plug on my wallet. Everyday Minerals Volcano Blossom Eyeshadow was the first shadow I tried from my order. It’s basically a black shadow… but before you open your mouth to yawn, it also has a gorgeous shimmer that looks really pretty! Continue reading

In a previous post, I pledged to pay more attention to taking care of my lips. I solemnly swear not to let them crack or dry up again, to always protect them from the harsh cold and burning heat, to… Well, you get the picture.

I’ve been purchasing many lip care and treatments lately. So many products, only 1 set of lips! Today, I’ll be reviewing The Body Shop Born Lippy Pink Guava Lip Balm. And let me tell ya: it smells sooo delicious. But I have a feeling it’s one of those scents that you either absolutely hate or love. Continue reading

NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin Tone Review & Pictures

I gotta tell ya: I didn’t have high hopes for NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin Tone. The White one made it to my Baddies List, but I’m actually liking this one. I’m not stunned-wowwed-omg’d by it, but it does make my Goodies List.

Just keep in mind that this is a base and not a primer. If you’re looking for a product to keep the creasing from sneaking up on you at the end of the day, this won’t do it! But if you want extra security for your shadows, give this a try. Continue reading

NYX Fabulous Lashes 116 Review & Pictures

No matter how self-conscious one is, there’s always a feature that’s a favorite. With me, my eyes are my favorite facial feature. Even still, I’ve always wanted longer, thicker eyelashes. I’m not about to drop $300 for lash extensions that take hours to do. So my next best solution is false eyelashes.

I have a few pairs by different brands – both full strips and individual ones. This review is on NYX Fabulous Lashes 116, which are full strips. They’re quite natural-looking, but if you’re not used to fake lashes, they definitely take some getting used to! Continue reading

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight Review & Pictures

It seems like Mary and I are constantly playing a game of temptation. We always encourage each other to buy new products as they freshly hit the makeup shelves. The conversation goes something like this:

“Did you hear about this and that coming out?”
“No.”
“You should get it! It’d look so great on you!”
“Stop tempting me to spend more $$!”
(Repeat lines 3 & 4 for several days.)

Case in point: When Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight came out, Mary kindly informed me since she knows I love the original TF eye primer. For a while I avoided getting it because I already have two tubes of the Original. And then I gave into temptation. Sigh! I have no will power. Am I glad that I gave in? Continue reading

e.l.f. Girly Mineral Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Meh. If there ever was a word to describe e.l.f. Girly Mineral Eyeshadow, that’s what I would use. I’ve tried hard to like this color – really, I tried! But it just doesn’t do it for me. It’s a dusty mauve purple that is super dull, IMO. Plus, I don’t like the name “Girly” – why assign a gender to a color or a characteristic?

Anyway, it’s not just the shade I don’t like. Everything else about this eyeshadow gets a barely passing C- grade from me. Come see more. Continue reading
