Slatkin & Co. Creamy Pumpkin Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Creamy Pumpkin Candle Review & PicturesCream-coloured pumpkins don’t get my attention as much as orange ones, so for the longest time, I didn’t try the Slatkin & Co. Creamy Pumpkin Candle from Bath & Body Works.

This is an immensely sweet candle that’s extremely heavy on the caramel. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that the name ‘Creamy Pumpkin’ is misleading since the pumpkin is overpowered.

If you’re not a fan of gourmand or candy-like fragrances, this will turn you off big time. But if you love scents that smell edible, you may very well fall in love with this scented candle! Continue reading

Britney Spears In Control Perfume Review & Pictures

Britney Spears Curious In Control Fragrance Review & PicturesNot long ago, “Merry Britmas” was trending on Twitter. I thought it had something to do with Britain, so I checked it out only to discover that it was actually about a Britney Spears song that leaked. People said that it reminded them of Christina Aguilera’s song, Beautiful.

There are only a handful of Britney Spears songs that I like, so I can’t call myself a fan of hers. I am, however, in lust with her original pink Fantasy perfume, which I’ve previously reviewed.

I also have a bottle of the blue Circus Fantasy and the red Hidden Fantasy, but those 2 severely pale in comparison to the original Fantasy. (Sweet and gourmand scents are more up my alley. I enjoy smelling edible like a cupcake.)

There’s one more Britney Spears fragrance I haven’t reviewed yet – the limited-edition Britney Spears In Control eau de parfum. It originally was released in 2006 and created by Claude Dir for Elizabeth Arden. You can sometimes find it in clearance sales, which is where I got mine – just $19.99 CAD at Shoppers for the 100 mL bottle!

When I bought this, I had low expectations just because the original Fantasy was the only Britney perfume I went gaga for. But this surprised me. I actually like it a lot, but it isn’t my new favourite. Also, unfortunately I think the bottle design is exceptional…exceptionally ugly!

AQUIESSE Luxe Linen Candle Review & Pictures

AQUIESSE Portfolio Collection Luxe Linen Candle Review & PictureYou may have noticed that the only candle brand I’ve ever reviewed was Slatkin & Co. That’s because I’ve never owned any other candles…until now!

I was recently introduced to AQUIESSE, which is a luxury home fragrance brand founded by Michael Joseph. I never heard about them before.

Their candles are made from soy beans and/or coconuts. And, to quote the press kit, “organic and/or renewable resources, including essential oils, are used whenever possible without jeopardizing the effectiveness or stability of the products.”

They use lead-free wicks, and “each and every product is meticulously crafted by true artisans who take pride in their work.”

AQUIESSE fans include celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Denise Richards, Tori Spelling, Ali Landry, and Ben Stiller.

Hehe, I don’t know about you, but I can’t picture Ben Stiller burning any candles. I can picture him joking around, biting into one, or knocking one over and causing a lawn to burst into flames, though. But who knows? Everyone needs to relax, and candles are a great way to calm yourself down…especially if you’re meeting the Fockers for the first time or you’re trapped in a museum at night and all the stiffs are coming to life. 😛

Let me tell you a little about my thoughts on the AQUIESSE Luxe Linen Candle.

Slatkin & Co. Cinnamon Sugared Donut Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Cinnamon Sugared Donut Candle Pictures & ReviewEver since I was little, my first choice for a donut was always the Hawaiian. It was the one with icing and round rainbow sprinkles on top. Even if the sprinkles got stuck in between my teeth, I still loved it.

Hmm…I definitely had a thing for rainbows as a kid because I went for the Super Kid ice-cream flavour whenever we went to Baskin Robbins. (Usually we went to Dairy Queen, though.) And Rainbow Brite was one of my favourite cartoons.

My dad and brother would try different kinds of donuts. But my mom would always pick the Cruller, which, even to this day, I consider to be a classy choice.

The only time I got a sugared donut was when all my top picks were sold out. Even so, when I found out about the Slatkin & Co. Cinnamon Sugared Donut Candle, I had to try it.

Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Shower Gel Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Shower Gel Review & PicturesSome people are obsessed with meat (like Michael Symon, the Iron Chef with a “Got Pork?” tattoo). Other people are obsessed with murder-mystery fiction. And then there are some people like me who love pumpkins.

They come in all different sizes. Some are squat and rotund. Some are tiny and adorable. They all get my seal of approval.

I just love how you can bring them to life for Hallowe’en by carving spooky faces and designs. I enjoy toasting their seeds with salt for a healthy snack and eating multiple slices of pumpkin pie! And when I was little, my dad used to call me Pumpkin.

All signs point to awesome.

So when I heard about the Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Shower Gel, obviously I couldn’t contain my excitement. (I’m almost sure that I squealed aloud.)

I got the travel-sized bottle and wanted to rush to take a shower even though it was only the early afternoon!

So is this fall in a shower gel? Or did it leave something to be desired? There’s only one way to find out!

Slatkin & Co. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Review & PicturesI’m a sucker for bakery-scented candles. If it makes me think that the wax could be edible, I’m so there!

The Slatkin & Co. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Candle from Bath & Body Works smells so yummy, you may have to remind yourself not to check the oven.

It’s exactly how you imagine this to smell, and it’s wonderful!

If Slatkin & Co. continue making bakery scents (which I’m sure they will), I’m going to be in a lot of trouble! 😛 (But I like trouble when it’s scented or in River City, Music Man!) Continue reading

Slatkin & Co. Apple Crumble Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Apple Crumble Candle Review & PicturesWhen it comes to candles that smell edible, I’m a sucker. So it should come as no surprise that I bought the Slatkin & Co. Apple Crumble Candle from Bath & Body Works.

Since we’re approaching fall, I’m craving apple, pumpkin, and spicy scents.

The Apple Crumble scented Slatkin & Co. candle fits the bill nicely when it comes to an apple scent that isn’t too strong or tart.

I’ve only ever had an apple crumble a few times, so I can’t say how dead-on the fragrance is. What I will say is that it is all kinds of delicious! Continue reading
