The Body Shop Mango Body Butter Review & Pictures

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I remember when I was in high school, I loooooved fruity scents. It’s like I wanted to make myself smell edible! Back then, I was all about The Body Shop (this was before Bath & Body Works graced Canada with its presence). I wasn’t in love with all their scents, but The Body Shop Mango Body Butter was always a fave.

One of the many reasons why I stopped shopping there is because their prices are kind of high. But recently they had a sale, and who am I to pass that up? I picked up the Mango Body Butter, and I felt like I traveled back in time. It brought back so many memories. Plus, I realize I still love the scent! Continue reading

Slatkin & Co. Homemade Cookies Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Homemade Cookies Candle A couple of weekends ago, Fiona and I made some delicious chocolate-chip cookies from scratch.

Being a total Swatch And Learn devotee, it reminded me to do a Slatkin & Co. Homemade Cookies Candle review.

If the thought of sugary-sweet scents alone is enough to give you a headache, this isn’t for you.

But for people out there, like me, who swoon over bakery fragrances, you’re in for a treat. And you won’t have to get any mixing bowls dirty, either! Continue reading

Kiss My Face Cranberry Orange Lip Balm SPF 15 Review & Pictures

Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm SPF 15 Cranberry OrangeNobody likes lizard lips that are more reminiscent of the Sahara Desert than the luscious pouts in beauty magazines. Plus dry puckers are downright uncomfortable.

Don’t know about you, but nothing can ruin my day faster than having chapped lips and being absent-minded enough to forget my moisturizing lip balm at home. An effective chapstick is one of the essential products I can’t live without.

My all-time favorite lip balm is the Shaklee Lip Protection Stick SPF 15, but unfortunately, they discontinued this product! When I found out, it was too late to stock up. Ever since then, I’ve been on a mission to find a good SPF 15 lip balm that’s moisturizing.

My latest rendezvous was with the organic Kiss My Face Cranberry Orange Lip Balm SPF 15. Was it a one-night stand? Time to get lippy! Continue reading

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & ConditionerMy naturally wavy hair is like a wild animal, which can actually be fun sometimes. But I like to tame it into submission most days. Straight tresses just fit into my lifestyle better right now.

So when I saw that the Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner were just $4 CAD at the Semi-Annual Hello Yellow Sale, it was a no-brainer. Picked up a bottle of each and was really excited to test them out in the shower that night.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Shampoo or Conditioner because it seems like I usually have to buy expensive haircare before I notice positive results.

Love how I was proved wrong! This Dynamic Duo really saves me from bad hair days! It smells okay, leaves my hair feeling (and looking) clean, and best of all, helps my hair get sleek during styling later on. Let me tell you more about it! Continue reading

Slatkin & Co. Vanilla Bean Noel Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Vanilla Bean Noel CandleScented candles are one of my most recent obsessions that started a few months ago. One peek in my closet, and you’d probably shake your head in disbelief.

Of course one of the candles I have is the Slatkin & Co. Vanilla Bean Noel Candle. Just browse a few older pages on Swatch And Learn to see that the Bath & Body Works Holiday Tradition line got me hook, line, and sinker.

But while I’m a huge fan of most of the products in the Vanilla Bean Noel Collection and of Slatkin & Co. candles, I have to bust these Vanilla Bean Noel candles because, to put it plainly and simply, they suck! Continue reading

Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cupcake Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cupcake CandleSlatkin & Co. candles are known for their high quality – they burn evenly, they have great scent throw, and they’re available in a wide variety of fragrant blends to please any snout! Plus Bath & Body Works has frequent sales on their candles so you often get a bargain.

Currently I’m loving the Slatkin & Co. Frosted Cupcake Candle! It doesn’t have that synthetic headache-inducing sweetness that usually turns me off. It actually smells like you’ve been baking some yummy cupcakes in your kitchen.

And this is a scent that fills your entire room and makes the air smell delicious! While it’s definitely not a pow-in-your-face scent, it still is noticeable and lingers for a while after you blow out the flames.

If you dig sweet scents or you want a mild, comforting fragrance, the Bath & Body Works Cupcake Candle is just the thing for you! Continue reading

Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel PocketBac Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works PocketBac Vanilla Bean NoelWe’ve all been in icky situations where we touched something gross on the subway or we just need to clean our hands when we’re out in public. But there may not be a restroom nearby.

Here’s where the Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel PocketBac comes in. This guy may be small, but he packs a punch and kills germs without water.

I always like to carry around a great-scented Bath & Body Works PocketBac in my purse wherever I go because you never know when you’ll need a quick fix. (And it’s also a plus that it smells nice, too!)

Today I’ll be continuing in my little Vanilla Bean Noel series and reviewing this inexpensive hand sanitizer that isn’t drying and is the perfect travel-friendly size.
