OPI Ski Slope Sweetie Swatches & Review

OPI Ski Slope Sweetie Swatches & ReviewOPI Ski Slope Sweetie from the Mariah Carey Holiday Collection reminds me of the way the sun kisses the powdery mountains on a winter’s day.

When I was in the 8th grade, my school retreat was held at a ski resort. We all went skiing daily, and it was a lot of fun and great exercise!

Haha, I remember being absolutely terrified of going down the really steep slopes. Literally, I went along one that was nearly a straight line when you looked down from the top! Near the bottom, it also had a sharp turn, and you had to really time it right because there was a cliff on the other side!

(You’re supposed to angle your skis like triangles – slowplowing – because then you can control the speed better. Even while doing that, I was scared! Guess I’m no speed demon!)

OPI Avojuice Holly Berry Hand & Body Lotion Review, Pictures & Press Release

OPI Avojuice Holly Berry Hand & Body Lotion ReviewMoisturizing your hands, especially when the weather takes a dip is so important. And since the dry, hot air in the office can wreck havoc on your hands, a good lotion is a must-have.

Unfortunately, I usually slack off when it comes to putting on hand lotion, so my cuticles often look pretty ragged during this time of year. And the fact that I tend to wash my hands a lot doesn’t help matters.

One thing that will motivate me to give my hands tender loving care? A fast-absorbing lotion like the OPI Avojuice Holly Berry Hand & Body Lotion, which is a new addition this year!

Only very recently have I had the pleasure of trying out the OPI Avojuices, and I’m pretty impressed!

Quick Look: Nicole by OPI Some Hearts Swatches

Nicole by OPI Some Hearts SwatchesHope that yesterday you had a great Hallowe’en!

Today, I have a sneak peek at Nicole by OPI Some Hearts, which is part of the amazing Carrie Underwood Collection that’s coming out in January 2014.

Remember, check back in January because I’ll be posting full reviews with tons of photos on all the manicures I’ve worn from this collection. Think of this post as something to whet your appetite. 😉

I ended up liking this shade a lot more than I thought when I first looked at the bottle.

There’s something fresh about this, and even though it’s set for a winter release, I can see how you could wear this well into the spring and summer! (Although you can wear whatever colour you want any time of year, in my book! Nail polish is all about putting a smile on your face, after all.)

P.S. Remember, my worldwide giveaway for the OPI Pure 18K White Gold & Silver Top Coat signed by Suzi of OPI is still open. Ends November 2 at 12:00 am Eastern!

Nail Art: Hallowe’en Nails

Halloween Nails Nail ArtYesterday, I was a little tease and only gave you 3 clues on Swatch And Learn plus a small social-media reveal of the Hallowe’en nail art on my thumb.

Well, now I’m going to show you the full manicure of the Hallowe’en Nails I’ve been wearing for a few days!

To create this simple look, I used all 4 shades in the OPI Rock Goddess Mini Lacquer Set (the 4th shade was used on my thumb).

Then, I brought out a bunch of my beloved Bundle Monster Image Plates from different collections.

The images stamped in black were done with my almost-finished bottle of Konad Special Nail Polish in Black, and for Mr. Skelly Ton, I asked China Glaze Snow for some help!

Although I like all the designs, my favourite definitely is the skeleton because he looks like he’s throwing his hands in the air, and waving ’em all around like he just doesn’t care! 😉

Hehe, and when I show you that nail in closer detail, you’ll see how it appears that he’s throwing confetti in the air for a cray-cray dance party! (Yeah, that’s how excited I am about him. I never say cray-cray!)

I can also imagine him dancing to some awesome hip hop – haha, nothing like the music played by this skeleton I showed you a while ago on Instagram!

Also, as you can see, I trimmed my nails quite short, but look how much of the skeleton shows up! And see how even the fine details show up? I’m very impressed with the Bundle Monster image plate allowing me to pick up the image well with my Konad stamper!

Little Teaser: Guess What Hallowe’en Nail Art I Did Using the OPI Rock Goddess Set

Hey everyone!

Things have been extremely busy, so while I don’t have a regular blog post today, I’d like to give you a little teaser. 😉

Guess what Hallowe’en nail art I did. (Hopefully I’ll be able to show you tomorrow!)

Here Are 3 Hints

1. I used the polishes in the OPI Rock Goddess Mini Lacquer Set sent to me by PR.

(Check out the official press release for it here.)

2. I painted my nails with these base colours. This photo shows only 3 of the 4 colours I used. (The yellow, I used on my thumb!)

Quick Look: Nicole by OPI Carrie’d Away Swatches

Nicole by OPI Carrie'd Away Swatches & ReviewIt’s been a little while since I showcased a polish from the Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection that’ll be coming out in January 2014.

Here’s a quick look at Nicole by OPI Carrie’d Away, which is a blingtastic, diva-esque champagne textured polish.

It has a very celebratory effect, and I like how even though the colour is very upscale, the texture gives it some unexpected edge that ruffles some feathers.

Since this is just a sneak peek, remember to come back in January for the full in-depth review. I’ll include way more photos as well when the nail polish is available for sale.

P.S. Remember, my worldwide giveaway for the OPI Pure 18K White Gold & Silver Top Coat signed by Suzi of OPI is still open. Ends November 2 at 12:00 am Eastern!

Ed Hardy Skulls & Roses Chalkboard Edition for Women & Men (with My Doodles!)

Ed Hard Skulls And Roses Chalkboard EditionThe Ed Hardy Skulls & Roses Chalkboard Edition for Women & Men feature fragrance bottles with a unique finish that allows you to draw on them with chalk!

PR was kind enough to send me both bottles, and encouraged me to put my spin on them.

Hehe, I’m not a great drawer, but when I was in school, I enjoyed doodling in my notebooks a lot for fun (especially if the class was boring – hey just being honest).

It’s been a long time since I doodled, so this little project brought out the kid in me (not that the kid in me ever really went far – just down the street, actually, to buy some candy!) 😉

In this post, I’ll show you in closer detail what I came up with. As a whole, I’m calling this collective, “Open Your Mind to Love”, which you may remember me showing on Instagram yesterday.
