Not so long ago, I thought purple and I were destined to be together. But recently I’ve discovered the true color for me is blue. I’ve noticed the days I feel the most confident about my appearance are always whenever I’m wearing blue eyeshadows. They complement my eye color so very well. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has her own confidence-building color! Right?

Anyway! I haven’t forgotten about my purples. Well, I literally can’t forget about them…seeing as I have drawers full of them. Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner is one in my vast collection. It’s a nice color, I think, but it doesn’t bring out my eyes the way I thought it would. 🙁 Continue reading →

e.l.f. Essentials Berry Pink Nail Polish Review & Swatches

I don’t own many pinks in my nail polish collection. It’s because purples and greens are like shiny things to me. Once I see them, I get distracted. Which is why I was surprised that e.l.f. Essentials Berry Pink Nail Polish caught my eye. I’m not used to wearing pinks on my nails, but I think I like it. I think. Sort of.

Is it just me, or does e.l.f. Berry Pink remind you of Barbie, too? Y’know, the color that the name is written in? Maybe that’s why I’m hesitating to like it. Barbie isn’t really my thing. I remember playing with the dolls, the clothing and shoes when I was younger. I even had a Barbie motorcycle. But when I grew up, I remember thinking she lives in such excess and discarded her. I love green nail polishes as much as the next girl. No, more than the next girl. (Move over, Next Girl.) But honestly though, I can’t make up my mind about Sinful Colors Show Me the Way. The green is pretty…and it’s not.

Sometimes I look at it and think “Wow!” Then other times, I wonder, “Show me the way to where? The swamps?” Which then reminds me of ogres because my name is Fiona. You know, like Shrek and Fiona? Sad face.

Milani One Coat Glitter Purple Gleam Review & Swatches

Is that a party on your nails, or are you just glad to see me? Milani One Coat Glitter Purple Gleam glitters brighter than a disco ball – an awesome purple disco ball, that is! It shines, it glimmers, and it glitters like mad crazy.

It’s one of those nail colors that’d stop you typing mid word just to look at it. (Oh, look. I just did that.) I previously reviewed Silver Dazzle and loved how it just gleams subtly for some effortless sexiness. Purple Gleam is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It’s pretty party purple that screams at the top of its lungs, “Look at me!”

While I really enjoy the shade, there is one aspect of Milani Purple Gleam that I really dislike. It’s the finish on my nails after the polish dries… but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I still like this hue!

Bath & Body Works Island Margarita PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel Review & Pictures

For many, many months, I’d stroll casually into a Bath & Body Works. Just a casual stroll. Never intended to buy anything. (Yeah, right!)

In many locations, I noticed that they had the Bath & Body Works Island Margarita PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel as a tester. But I could never find the actual product. I’d rummage through the bins like a mad woman. Like a mad woman, I tell ya! Why would they put it out as a tester if you can’t actually buy it? It’s total temptation.

I think it’s because Island Margarita is a seasonal scent that they stopped putting out at the end of summer last year. But they still had the anti-bacs leftover as testers. This story has a happy ending as I finally got one (OK, five) last month! Do I regret getting so many? Continue reading →

It’s gee-golly swell if you can afford to drop $30 on a lip gloss and $50 on a face primer. But really, a lot of us just don’t have the budget to do that – not even once in a while!

So when it comes to beauty products, I’ve learned not to discriminate. I’ve also learned that there are a lot of great drugstore products out there that do an awesome job, but for way less. You end up getting more makeup and products that you love for the money you’re willing to spend. And who doesn’t love that? 🙂
