By itself, OPI Last Friday Night is a fun sheer glitter nail polish to wear that looks best when layered. But, you know me, I just had to kick it up a notch with some nail art!
In this Shooting Star Konadicure, I used the Bundle Monster Image Plate BM21, so perhaps I should’ve called this a Fauxnadicure.
Really love how this one turned out – reminds me of festive birthday wrapping paper for a kid’s present. It’s colorful, has a busy pattern, and yeah, it’s loaded with glitter!
For this little experiment, I decided not to use the Konad Special nail polishes and opted to try China Glaze Millennium for the star design. This proved to be a good call – worked just as well as the Konad special polishes because Millennium is a 1-coater.
Does this manicure remind you of your birthday parties when you were a child, too? Think there’s too much going on? Prefer pure minimalism on your nails instead? Let me know!

Bundle Monster Image Plate BM21 Review (Shooting Stars)
You really can’t beat the value of Bundle Monster image plates because you get 21 pieces in a set for $17.99 USD. Konad image plates, on the other hand, usually cost around $6.99 USD each.
In general, I noticed that the full-pattern designs were smaller than the ones on the Konad plates, so if you have average or larger nails, keep this in mind – you’ll have to do a double-stamp to cover your entire nail.
I chose the shooting-star design because I liked how there weren’t any straight edges. So even if the design didn’t cover my entire nail, it wouldn’t look awkward or force me to do a double-stamp. Plus I really like the stars and the accents.
The shooting-star image was just as easy to pick up as the designs from my Konad image plates – no problems there. Although I have heard some people complain about how the Bundle Monster image plates aren’t etched as deeply as the Konad ones. (When I try out more Bundle Monster designs, I’ll be sure to always mention the ease or difficulty of picking up the image for each.)
Also, unlike the Konad image plates, the Bundle Monster have a clear plastic covering that you have to remove before initial use. The Bundle Monster image plates also don’t have a backing. This makes the discs sharper, but as long as you’re not trying to slit your wrist or dice your vegetables with them, you should be fine and free from cuts.

Does this Shooting Star fauxnadicure remind you of your childhood birthday parties? Do you prefer nail art on creme, shimmer, or glitter polishes?
Did you notice that I messed up on my pinkie finger? Do you care?
Love the look! I actually have the same design on my nails right now, also in silver (I used the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polish Celeb City- and it works great too). I used Revlon’s Get Reddy for my base color though, and the silver and red looks almost as spiffin as your silver and blue. ^_^ I need to work on my aim though, as mine aren’t nearly as dead center as yours. Certainly is an eye catching design though, I’ve been getting compliments about it at work every day I’ve had the shooting stars on.
Hey Kelly!
Great nailphiles think alike…hehe! 🙂
Your silver-and-red combination sounds fun. Glad you’re also enjoying the shooting-stars pattern, too. It definitely gets a lot of attention.
Have you tried any of the other Bundle Monster image plates? Any favorites?
So far the only other image I have done (I’ve only had the plates for a week or so), has been the snowflake on 14, though I plan on using the shamrocks on 03 as part of my St. Patrick’s Day design which I will probably do tomorrow. I just wish they had some sort of music notes design, they seem to have almost everything else on these plates.
Once again, we think alike – was also thinking about using the shamrocks, but we’ll see.
If you want to look into Konad, they have a full-nail design with musical notes on a staff and piano keys. The Konad image plate is m73.
I like that! Alas the main reason I haven’t ventured into name brand Konad plates is the price. Poor college student budget leaves little enough free money to spend on polishes and accessories, much less a $7 plate that only has one image I really like. Now if I ever caught it on sale I would snap it up most likely ^_^
Kelly,
You might want to look into Wowsocool.com. They have Konad image plates and a coupon code (“wowsocool”) for $6.99 off orders of $35. I’m not sure how long it lasts. (It doesn’t apply to Build Your Own Kits or any of the nail stickers, and this is on top of their usual free shipping on orders over $20 USD to Canada or the US.)
