Nina Ultra Pro Pearly Brights Swatches & Review

Nina Ultra Pro Pearly Brights Swatches & ReviewMother Nature is acting like molasses, taking her sweet time to bring the warm weather our way.

So, this nailphile thought that coaxing her with some neon polish would be a good idea.

You simply can’t go wrong with a neon! It puts a smile on your face, and I feel like my fingernails also smile when I sport a super-bright shade! Or maybe it’s just me who personifies nails? Padded walls, here I come!) 😉

The gorgeous Nina Ultra Pro Pearly Brights first made its appearance in this Haul of Shame post where I shared with you a bunch of incredible polishes from Sally Beauty Supply that I purchased on sale or on clearance.

It took me a while to take Nina Ultra Pro Pearly Brights from the Untried bin to the Tried bin, but I’m glad I finally gave it a go. I don’t have many Nina Ultra Pro nail polishes in my stash, so I cherish it that much more.

One ‘n Only Argan Oil Oil Treatment Review & Pictures

One-n-Only-Argan-Oil-Oil-Treatment-Review-PicturesEvery time I step into a Sally Beauty Supply store, I’m tempted to pick up a bottle of One ‘n Only Argan Oil Oil Treatment.

A while ago when I was going to get a new bottle of their awesome nail-polish remover, I finally sprung for the argan oil.

It was great timing because they were having a sale on it, so I got it for a great deal.

As you may know, I’m a regular user of the original MoroccanOil Oil treatment. But, it’s more expensive than One ‘n Only’s version.

I was very curious about how they compared because if the inexpensive one worked just as well, I would happily make the switch.

So how did it fare? Let me tell you!

Beauty Secrets Acetone Nail Polish Remover Review & Pictures

Beauty Secrets Acetone Nail Polish Remover Review & Pictures Sally Beauty Supply smallerI show you a lot of nail polishes and nail-art designs on Swatch And Learn. But something I haven’t talked about much is nail polish remover.

Although finding the perfect shade of green polish is on your to-do list ( 😉 ), if you’re into painting your nails, finding a good nail polish remover is equally important.

It’s not just what you put on. It’s also how you take it off that matters.

Some removers strip your nails of essential oils and leave them feeling bone-dry, or they may even cause your nails to peel.

As a nail-polish fanatic, I’ve been through bottles and bottles of remover. The surprising thing I found was that price didn’t necessarily correspond with the quality.

I’ve tried a myriad of removers, but so far, my favourite is the Beauty Secrets Acetone Nail Polish Remover that can be purchased from Sally Beauty Supply. Let me tell you why! Continue reading

Nail Art: Canadian Flag Nails & Tutorial

Image of Canadian Flag Nails** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Boo. My second attempt at nail art kind of failed. Sad face. They don’t really even look like the Canadian flag! Hahah. Even though I don’t really want to post it, I have to because Swatch And Learn is proudly Canadian. And since I did an American flag one, I have to represent north side of the border. I had a blast with the American flag one, especially when I inspired a co-worker to do a tape manicure design, too! That’s always encouraging.

I also had fun with my Canadian Flag nails. I got to work with Sally Beauty Sprinkles – I used the heart shape because I <3 Canada. Tee hee. I’m still working on my taping technique because there was, again, some bleeding.  If anyone has any advice for me, I would love to hear it. I’m just starting out and want to get better!

~Whisper~ I like my American Flag nails (design wise) better because it’s cuter and more intricate. But shhhh. Don’t tell our Canadian readers. ~End whisper~ Continue reading
