Loose Button December 2011 Luxe Box Review & Pictures

Loose Button December Luxe Box Review & PicturesYou’ll remember that I previously had the opportunity to try out a complimentary October 2011 Loose Button Luxe Box for the first time.

Afterwards, I signed up for the service because I wanted to treat myself to a little Christmas gift. Plus I wanted to get a better feel for the company.

In this post, I’ll show you what I got in my December Loose Button Luxe Box!

(I won’t go into too much detail about the service or the packaging because I went into it pretty heavily in my post on the October edition. I’ll link to it later on in this post, though, in case anyone’s curious. Also, any products that I try extensively may be featured in a future review post.) Continue reading

Loose Button Luxe Box Review & Pictures

Loose Button Luxe Box Review & PicturesFor a long time, I had been wanting to try Birch Box, but they don’t ship to Canada.

So you can imagine how giddy I became when I had the opportunity to try out the Loose Button Luxe Box (October edition). It’s Canadian and has the same concept as Birch Box, but a different look! 😀

What is the Luxe Box? A monthly subscription service by Loose Button. You get a beautiful box with 4-5 deluxe-sized beauty products.

They have monthly ($12) , quarterly ($36), and yearly ($120) subscription options, and the shipping is free.

(Edit: I just signed up to receive the next available box, and it’s $12 + tax, which comes out to a total of $13.56 CAD.)

You don’t get to choose the items in your box, so it’s a surprise.

In this post, I’ll be reviewing my impression of the Loose Button Luxe Box and not the beauty products themselves because if you sign up for this service, you won’t be getting this October box and your products will be different. But do let me know if there’s an item you would like a separate review on and maybe I’ll do a future post on it.

The Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without

Products I Use Every DayThere were lots of products that I fell in love with. But sometimes things just weren’t meant to be. They started seeing other people. And they made up lame excuses for sneaking out in the middle of the night. Needless to say, the relationship was cut short.

Of course I was heartbroken, but new products entered my life. Some took me for dinner and a movie. Others serenaded me with a Spanish guitar. And one special product made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

Here are the products that I’ve been faithful to because they’ve never let me down when I needed them. We plan to grow old together and celebrate many happy anniversaries. Continue reading

Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal Review & Pictures

Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal ReviewI’ve been in lots of hairy situations where my tresses simply didn’t cooperate. It sometimes has a life of its own.

Years ago, I had a laissez-faire attitude and let my natural hair texture have its way, but not anymore.

Naturally, it’s wavy verging on the curly side, but for a few years now, I’ve been taming that bad boy with my trusty flat iron. That’s right – on a daily basis, I apply high heat to my hair. (You can shake your head now. My hairstylist did.)

And it seems like every time I get my hair trimmed, I always get suckered into buying an expensive haircare product. This time it was Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Vita-Ciment Topseal.

While I’ve had many great haircare recommendations from stylists over the years, I must say that this was the best new product I ever took a chance on. (And it certainly didn’t come cheap! I think my wallet’s still breaking out into cold sweats at night!)

Let me tell you why I’ll definitely repurchase this despite the exorbitant price. Continue reading
