I remember when I was in high school, I loooooved fruity scents. It’s like I wanted to make myself smell edible! Back then, I was all about The Body Shop (this was before Bath & Body Works graced Canada with its presence). I wasn’t in love with all their scents, but The Body Shop Mango Body Butter was always a fave.
One of the many reasons why I stopped shopping there is because their prices are kind of high. But recently they had a sale, and who am I to pass that up? I picked up the Mango Body Butter, and I felt like I traveled back in time. It brought back so many memories. Plus, I realize I still love the scent!

The Body Shop Body Butter in Mango Review
Did you know that The Body Shop Body Butter in Mango was the original body butter that started it all? I didn’t! It came out in 1992! I’m glad that they haven’t discontinued it (they always seem to discontinue scents I love).
There are many companies that try to capture the mango scent, including Bath & Body Works, but I’m not particularly drawn to them. They either smell artificial, too sweet or both. Even with The Body Shop Mango Body Butter, it’s not exactly a mango scent. It seems to have a peachy undertone to it, but the result is a super-fruity essence. Oh man. It really smells like it’s good enough to eat.
The only thing I have to complain about the scent is that it’s slightly too strong. But because I like it, I don’t mind! In fact, I’m continually holding up my hand to my nose to smell it. Ahah. The scent does fade a little after about 10 minutes, but you still get the fruitiness lingers on.
Fragrance aside, I think The Body Shop Mango Body Butter is one of the best scented moisturizers I’ve tried. It absorbs really quickly so it doesn’t leave my hands and body feeling sticky. Plus, it hydrates even my dry skin! *throws confetti*
Another thing that I really like about The Body Shop’s Mango Body Butter is the stiffer consistency. It doesn’t feel oily, greasy or heavy at all, yet it’s not runny or watery. It amazes me every time I unscrew the lid. It’s like the body butter doesn’t move in the pot that I keep in my purse. That’s because the cocoa butter ingredient is formulated to melt on contact with skin, so without the warmth of your body, the body butter stays put in the pot!

Final Verdict: 9.7/10
The Body Shop doesn’t have as many scents as Bath & Body Works, but the ones that I do like from them, I truly love. And The Body Shop Body Butter in Mango is one of them!
Do you like The Body Shop’s body butters? What’s your favorite TBS scent?

Hey trish!
That’s great to hear you had a good experience with the mango scrub. Fiona reviewed this product, but I’ve been curious about it, too. Mango scrubs sound like they’d smell amazing! 🙂
