Zoya Elisa Swatches & Review

Zoya-Elisa-Swatches-ReviewOkay, if you know me well, you know that I tend not to jump up and down over red nail polish. Normally I’m lying down, yawning, and dreaming of David Beckham…or more recently, Colin Farrell! 😉

(Oh my, I just saw Total Recall on Sunday night, and when he was shirtless, my eyes got bigger! Don’t know why I never paid attention to him until now…Maybe I need a new prescription for my glasses.)

However, there are the rare days when I feel ‘the itch’ to sport a classic red. And then there are some that actually get my attention because they stand apart from the generic sea of reds.

Zoya Elisa is a red that not only got my attention, but  also made me admire my nails throughout the day like a vain polish peacock!

Zoya Natty Swatches & Review

Zoya-Natty-Swatches-ReviewEven though I love sparkly and shimmery blues, my heart always seems to skip a beat when I come across dusty blues. Maybe it’s because I don’t have too many in my collection.

(The first time I realized I loved dusty blues was when I tried Sally Hansen’s Gray by Gray, but that shade’s much lighter and more grey than Zoya Natty.)

Zoya Natty is a gorgeous dusty blue nail polish from the Designer Collection, which is a subset of the Zoya NYFW 2012 Collection.

This lacquer is really sexy to me because it’s different than what I usually wear, and although it’s just a simple creme finish, I can’t think of any colour I have that’s a dupe for it.

P.S. Hope that my fellow Canadians are enjoying the long weekend! 🙂

My Top 5 Favourite Purples

My-Top-5--Favourite-Purples-SwatchAndLearnAfter publishing My Top 5 Favourite Greens post, I got some requests to do My Top 5 Favourite Purples.

Took me long enough, but I finally did it. No, I didn’t forget, but sometimes I get bitten by the Procrastination Bug.

Don’t believe me? Here, I’ll show you the bite marks. Okay, maybe I won’t…

Purple polish was my first love before I fell in lust with greens. For a long time, the majority of my collection was purple. Now I think if there was a tug-of-war, there’d be a tie between purple and green.

So, without further ado, here are my purple picks out of the ones I’ve shown you on Swatch And Learn! 😀

Zoya NYFW 2012 Collection Press Release

Zoya NYFW 2012 CollectionHave you heard the news? Zoya will be coming out with a new collection – Zoya NYFW 2012 Collection!

Currently this is all the information I have. I don’t have any promotional pictures to share that show the colours in the collection, but if I get any, I’ll either update this post or include it in a new post.

Are there any colours that, based on their descriptions, sound the most appealing to you?

I’m interested in Noot (charcoal green gray) and Frida (sheer teal blue jelly gloss that’s buildable).

P.S. Stay tuned for a 2nd blog post later today. 😉 It’s nail-polish-related, too! 🙂

Zoya Carly Swatches & Review

Zoya Carly Swatches & ReviewAre you a purple-polish fiend? If so, this lacquer may make your heart race! 😉

Even though Zoya Carly is part of the Beach & Surf Collection for Summer this year, this shade reminds me more of something that would be included in a fall or winter collection because it’s so dark and rich.

But I’m a firm believer in wearing whatever colour you want regardless of the season. Happiness is key.

I really enjoyed this colour despite being on a bright and neon polish kick lately. Sometimes you need to switch it up so you don’t get burned out on a set of colours. Gotta keep the love going, right?

Zoya Zuza Swatches & Review

Zoya Zuza Swatches & ReviewZoya Zuza from the Beach & Surf Summer Collection was one of the first colours I immediately took note of.

Aside from true greens, this is what I consider to be my ‘comfort polish’.

This aquamarine is pretty in the bottle, but it’s equally beautiful on the nail, too! No trickery here!

If you like turquoise nail polish, I highly recommend you get this.

It has a terrific formula, a colour that I think is flattering on the majority of skin tones, and the finish is great for concealing ridges and nail imperfections.

Zoya Myrta Swatches & Review

Zoya Myrta Swatches & ReviewZoya Myrta is like the bright, citrus smell that permeates a room when someone peels a tangerine. No, it doesn’t smell like the fruit, but it makes me think of that vibrancy and energy.

(This was actually the very first colour I wore when I received the Zoya Beach & Surf Summer 2012 Collection!)

I don’t often feature orange nail polish on here because, well, I don’t have too many. But I’ve been straying out of my comfort zone more and more.

Zoya Myrta is a really fun colour that I think is great for the summer because it’s warm and sunny. But I can also see how this would be a great pick in October for Hallowe’en.
