OPI Hotter Than You Pink Swatches & Review

OPI Hotter Than You Pink Swatches & ReviewWhoa, the weekend sure was spectacular! The sun was shining, and it was enough to put anyone in a good mood! 🙂

One of my favourite things on a sunny day is to see and hear the leaves rustle as the wind flies through. I imagine that the leaves are being tickled, and small thoughts like that are enough to bring a smile to my face.

Today, I have for you a review on OPI Hotter Than You Pink, which is a neon pink that’s from the new Neon Collection.

I managed to have my camera ready to capture it in sunlight, natural light, and with a flash.

However, as with many bright shades, the brightness doesn’t fully translate on screen. OPI Hotter Than You Pink is a more saturated pink. It’s closer to my photos with flash, but it’s even deeper, so keep that in mind.

You know how I feel about pinks – they’re not my favourite, but I’ve definitely warmed up to them, and this one is really fun to wear because in the right light, you get cool blue reflects!

P.S. Remember to enter my worldwide giveaway for your chance to win the entire full-size OPI Neon Collection & OPI Put a Coat On Base Coat until May 31 at 11:59 pm EDT!

OPI Red Hot Rio Swatches & Review

OPI Red Hot Rio Swatches & ReviewOPI Red Hot Rio is part of the amazing Brazil Collection, which I still can’t stop raving about, even though it’s no longer the latest release!

It has so many stand-out colours, and it’s been a while since I’ve been so excited about an entire nail-polish collection!

This has a jelly finish that I love, and even without a shiny top coat, it ends up looking like glass on your nails.

It reminded me a lot of OPI Vodka & Caviar (which I reviewed back in 2011) – it’s one of my all-time favourite reds.

The formula, finish, and colour are so close, you can probably only justify getting that or OPI Red Hot Rio. (You may remember seeing my comparison swatches on Instagram.)

To me, I consider them pretty much dupes because they look so similar. When I wear them on my nails, I can’t see much of a difference. It’s only when you see them side-by-side on a nail wheel and in certain lighting through the lens of a camera or one on a phone that the nuances show a bit. (If you were to show me one bottle and the other briefly, I don’t think I’d be able to distinguish them apart. Then again, I’m more of a green fiend than a red fiend!) 😉

I think you’ll be just as happy owning one or the other.

But, since OPI Vodka & Caviar is getting harder to find, OPI Red Hot Rio is a nice option for those who may have missed out!

P.S. Remember, you have until May 31 at 11:59 pm EDT to enter my worldwide giveaway to win the entire full-size OPI Neon Collection and the OPI Put a Coat On Base Coat!

OPI Juice Bar Hopping Swatches & Review

OPI Juice Bar Hopping Swatches & ReviewOPI Juice Bar Hopping is the vivid orange from the OPI Neon Collection, and I’m completely in love with it!

It has that really fresh, “squishy” look that lots of jelly nail polishes have. But, in order to get it to look its best, you must wear a shiny top coat because this lacquer dries matte and looks a bit flat on its own.

The summery shade looks even better on your nails than in the bottle, and it’s one of those colours that has so much impact. I know that I’ll be wearing this again!

P.S. In case you didn’t already see the post on it yesterday, I’m having a worldwide giveaway for the entire full-size OPI Neon Collection, as well as the new white base coat, OPI Put a Coat On! Enter now through May 31 at 11:59 pm EDT for your chance to win big!

Readers like you have always been a huge source of support for me, encouraging me and bringing extra positivity into my life.

Nail Art: Easy Nail Design Using OPI Juice Bar Hopping & Zoya Dillon

Dotted Manicure Nail ArtA while back, I was wearing OPI Juice Bar Hopping, which is from the new Neon Collection that I did a Quick Post about before.

At that time, it occurred to me that I hadn’t done nail art in what seemed like forever. But, I didn’t have too much time – my schedule these days is so packed, it’s like an elephant’s overstuffed suitcase thrown into one of those little clown cars!

So I played around without any rhyme or reason and did an easy nail design using dots and diagonal sections with Zoya Dillon from the Awaken Collection, which I did a Quick Look post on and also reviewed in-depth here.

Stay tuned because I’ll be sharing lots of swatches of OPI Juice Bar Hopping. I’ve already worn it solo and taken photos – just need to crop them! 🙂

OPI Coca-Cola Collection Press Release

OPI Coca-Cola CollectionA while ago, PR sent me the press release about the new OPI Coca-Cola Collection, but I waited to share the news with you until I received an update with images, since pictures say a thousand words! 😉

Woo hoo – yesterday, they sent me the names and images for the 9 colours that are in the OPI Coca-Cola Collection, so I knew that I had to whip together a post to share it with you!

The collection is set to be released in June, so it’s just around the corner!

Although I’m not an avid Coke drinker (I rarely drink pop in general), I’m still interested in this collection because I can’t think of too many collaborations like this where a leading nail-polish brand teamed up with a major beverage brand.

I’m still waiting for OPI to team up with a cupcake company! 😉 (Mmm, or maybe I’m just craving cupcakes recently.)

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons Swatches & Review

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons Swatches & ReviewBefore I get into today’s review, I’d like to explain why I was M.I.A. for a bit last week.

If you follow me on social media, you already know. My cat, Pingu, passed away on Thursday. I had to make the hardest decision to put him to sleep to end his suffering.

He was only 11 years old, and the vet said that he was in a lot of pain and that he was dying. It was all very sudden.

I feel like I made the right choice, but, as you can imagine, it also felt very wrong. It’s hard to say goodbye to a beloved family member. Pets are more than ‘just animals’. They are companions who love unconditionally and who often teach humans the proper way to love!

He lived at my mom’s, but before I moved out in my 20s, I was living with my parents and Pingu. Pingu and I had a strong bond, so even though I sometimes called Pingu “my mom’s cat” because he lived with her, he was really “my cat”! The way his eyes would light up as he galloped to the door to greet me each Sunday I went to visit my mom always made me smile.

Today, I’ll be reviewing OPI Life Gave Me Lemons from the Neons Collection. I actually wore this quite some time ago and had planned to review it last week, but, as you can understand, my priorities shifted, and I was overcome with emotion.

As you know, I love neon nail polish because it acts like a pick-me-up. And I think the name “Life Gave Me Lemons” is appropriate now. It reminded me that even though life seems sucky right now and my eyes were puffy from crying, I’ll eventually have to think positively and take comfort in the happy, heartfelt, and tender moments that I got to share with Pingu. (I may write a blog post to share my wonderful memories about Pingu, a quirky cat with a warm, funny, and loving personality.)

Edit: I’m having a worldwide giveaway for the entire full-size OPI Neon Collection and the new white base coat, OPI Put a Coat On! Enter until May 31 at 11:59 pm EDT for your chance to win!
