OPI Visions of Georgia Green & OPI Centennial Celebration Swatches & Photos

OPI Visions of Georgia Green Centennial CeremonyLast month, I blogged about how there were two new shades being added to the OPI Coca-Cola Collection for 2015OPI Visions of Georgia Green and OPI Centennial Celebration.

Yesterday, I received a package from PR, and two of the goodies included were these nail polishes!

Normally when I do my Quick Look posts on lacquers, I tend to show swatches on nail wheels.

This time, I was itching to try them right away on my nails, so I included them in this post.

Which one do you prefer? OPI Visions of Georgia Green (left) or OPI Centennial Celebration (right)?

What I Wore on My Nails Yesterday for Canada Day

Yesterday was Canada Day, and I visited my mom, and we spent the entire day walking around the neighbourhood and talking.

Below is what I wore for my Canada Day Nails yesterday. 🙂

The red base is OPI The Color of Minnie, which I previously reviewed in 2012, and the fun glittery top coat is OPI Bearest of Them All. (Both were provided to me by PR in the past.)

Canada Day Nails 2015

My mom and I walked for hours, and when we passed by my old elementary school, I was too curious – had to stop by.

Wow, it had changed completely to the point where the building was reconstructed and looked totally unrecognizable compared to when I used to attend classes there. Plus they got rid of the sandbox and the track.

(I was bummed that the track was gone because back in the day, I was on the track and field team and I also ran for cross country. So sad to see that it was replaced with grass now.)

It was a beautiful, sunny day with a comfortable breeze, and it never felt too hot. The weather was amazing – so much better than what the forecast was calling for days ago! (I remember when I was making plans, the forecast kept saying rain, rain, rain. Thankfully, there wasn’t a drop of rain.)

Then, when I came home, I enjoyed beautiful fireworks in my neighbourhood! (I’ll never get tired of watching them.)

My favourites were the big ones that explode and look like a water fountain. Then, suspended in the air, they twinkle before fading. Some of them changed colour as they twinkled. (Fireworks are like magic to me because I’m still a kid at heart.)

P.S. If you missed my post from yesterday check it out! There’s some exciting news about the collaboration between OPI and Hudson’s Bay that Canadian nailphiles will be interested in!

Happy Canada Day to My Canadian Readers

To my fellow Canadians, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Happy Canada Day!

Also, later in this post, I share with you all the details of the latest nail-polish news. OPI is now sold at the Hudson’s Bay Queen Street Flagship store in Toronto!

In August, OPI nail polishes will be sold online via Hudson’s Bay, and later, the polishes will be rolling out to additional top Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.

OPI Canada Day 2015

I picked a few red OPI nail polishes from my collection to create the photo above.

(In case you’re curious, I’ve listed the colours shown below along with links to the in-depth reviews I did over the years. By comparing the reviews, you can see how Swatch And Learn has evolved. I purchased Dear Santa. Vodka & Caviar and Pretty & Privileged were gifts from my ex-boyfriend, and the rest were generously provided by PR. The full details can be found in each post linked.)

Starting at the bottom, going clock-wise: Dear Santa, Vodka & Caviar, The Color of Minnie, Pretty & Privileged, Romantically Involved, Red Hot Rio, I STOP for Red & All I Want for Christmas Is OPI

Middle: Bearest of Them All

OPI My Car Has Navy-gation Swatches & Review

OPI My Car Has Navy-gation Swatches & ReviewAlthough OPI My Car Has Navy-gation isn’t what I consider ‘bright’, it’s part of the OPI Brights 2015 Collection.

The more I stared at the collection as a whole, the more my eyes kept coming back to this bold navy-cobalt blue. It has an electric touch that made me more curious than a cat peering into a paper bag.

(Haha, when I was proofreading this post, I looked it over quickly and misread that as a cat peeing into a paper bag! Definitely not the same thing.) 😉

P.S. There’s a bit of orange around my cuticles. I’ll share with you a review on the nail polish that I wore right before this, which left the orange behind. (Hopefully I’ll show you this week.)

OPI & Coca-Cola Celebrate 100 Years of the Coca-Cola Bottle with the Icons of Happiness Collection

OPI Coca-Cola Collection 2015It’s been a century since the iconic Coca-Cola bottle was designed, and to mark this milestone, they’re teaming up again for a nail-polish collaboration.

The OPI Coca-Cola Collection 2015 (Icons of Happiness) launches this month.

Many of the colours may look familiar, and that’s because they’re relaunching six shades from the OPI Coca-Cola Collection 2014. These reprobates are: You’re So Vain-illa, Coca-Cola Red, My Signature Is “DC”, Sorry I’m Fizzy Today, Get Cherried Away, and A Grape Affair. (I reviewed and swatched some of those, so click on the links to see the in-depth individual posts on the 2014 versions.)

The two other shades are brand new, and they’re the ones I’m most excited about: Visions of Georgia Green and Centennial Silver!

Visions of Georgia Green is right up my alley, since I’m a green fiend, and Centennial Silver looks interesting because there’s a touch of gold mixed into the silver.

OPI Make Light of the Situation Swatches & Review (Layered Over Zoya Jace)

OPI Make Light of the Situation Swatches & ReviewOPI Make Light of the Situation from the SoftShades 2015 Collection is an iridescent glitter topper that layers over any colour to give it that ‘Ice Capades’ effect.

At the time, my existing manicure was Zoya Jace, so I experimented by putting one layer on top to see how it would transform the finish.

I like how it lights up a manicure and adds a touch of Snowflake Princess to your nails.

It would look very cute over pinks and icy over blues. And whites would look that much more snow-like. But I’d be curious how it plays with taupes, browns, greys, and oranges.

P.S. The name of the polish appeals to me because it’s part of my life philosophy. No matter how much you struggle with bad apples and no matter how many people you encounter who suffer from the Tall Poppy Syndrome who try to bring you down to their low, bitter level, you have to always find a way to rise above it and to ‘make light of the situation’, whether it’s staying positive or finding the humour in it all. Humour is a great coping mechanism, but it can also help you to thrive!

P.P.S. Anderson Cooper appears in this post!

OPI Nail Envy Strength in Color Collection

OPI Nail Envy Strength in Color CollectionIf you’ve followed my blog for some time, you know that my Holy Grail base coat isn’t actually a base coat at all! It’s OPI Nail Envy!

Well, OPI has infused colour into the nail treatment for a two-in-one product!

So far, they’ve released four different shades.

Three of them are classic, popular shades: Bubble Bath, Hawaiian Orchid, and Samoan Sand. Then, they’ve offered a new colour that’s exclusive to the Nail Envy formula: Pink to Envy.
