Nicole by OPI Love My Pups Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI Love My Pups Carrie Underwood CollectionIn October 2013, I did a Quick Look post on Nicole by OPI Love My Pups, which is from the Carrie Underwood Collection that was released January 2014.

It’s been a while, but I’m finally bringing you my full review on it!

You know me – the louder a polish is, the more I’m drawn to it like a moth to a flame.

But, as you may have remembered me saying a few times, I’m beginning to develop a soft spot for subtle shades. (Maybe someone’s lacing my water with something?) 😉

Whatever it is, I’m really enjoying how clean and chic a soft shade can look. There’s a natural elegance about it.

Quick Look: Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection

Nicole by OPI Roughles CollectionThe next little while, I’m going to be incredibly busy as I’m moving verrrry soon – it’s right around the corner! (It’s a very exciting, but stressful time, too. I bought my first home!)

But I didn’t want to take a hiatus from blogging during this time because I love doing this.

Readers like you are really important to me, so I’m going to try my best to keep my Monday-to-Friday blogging schedule for as long as I can before I move. It’s going to be quite a juggling act, though, as I have a full-time job, and I also do freelance jobs. I don’t know how things are going to pan out, but you can be sure that I’ll try my best to minimize any blogging gaps. (Please bare with me if it takes me longer than usual to reply to comments left on my blog and social media.)

For this reason, due to time constraints, I’ve decided to put together some Quick Look posts, since a lot of you seem to like them. (Haha, you’ll see from the upcoming posts that I have a lot of new polishes!) Also, I have some photos from manicures I wore before, but never reviewed on here. So I’m going to pull them out.

In today’s post, I have for you the Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection, which features texture nail polishes that are fun, Easter-y, textured, and speckled. In addition to bottle shots, you’ll also see some quick swatches! Enjoy! (Please stay tuned in the future for my in-depth reviews and swatches.)

Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

Nicole by OPI Roughles CollectionThere has been a lot of nail news coming down the pipe, hasn’t there?

Well, just when you thought it stopped, I’m here to say (like Ron Popeil), “But wait! There’s more!”

No, I’m not going to promise you a free set of knives or tell you about a rotisserie that lets you ‘set it and forget it’. 😉

Instead, I have something way cooler – the Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection press release!

It includes 4 textured nail polish that have a speckled appearance, which reminds me of dinosaur eggs. Very interesting! And since they’re light shades, they remind me of Easter eggs.

Haha, the name of this collection, Roughles, is pronounced as “Ruffles”! I was hungry while preparing this blog post, so when I thought of Ruffles, images of flavoured potato chips sprung instantly to mind. (I hope I didn’t get any drool on the keyboard!) 😉

What’s your favourite flavour of Ruffles chips? (I really like All Dressed.)

P.S. Remember, you can still vote for me daily until February 25 in the Nicole by OPI challenge I entered. Click the link to learn more about how you can vote for me on Twitter and see the nail art I painted.

P.P.S. Also, don’t forget to enter my nail-polish giveaway, Canadians! Until February 28, enter for your chance to win the entire OPI Brazil Collection! (Multiple entries are possible. See the post for details.)

I would really appreciate your vote!

  • Tweet about my manicure and/or retweet a photo of my manicure.
  • Use the hashtag #Mary4Nicole for it to count as a vote.

To make it easy, you can simply just click the retweet button below and sign into your Twitter account to vote!

You can also include the hashtag #NicoleChallenge, but only #Mary4Nicole will count as a vote for me.

You can tweet once per day & retweet once per day. That’s 2 votes per person per day.

Here’s the quick manicure I came up with:

Swatch And Learn

To find out the exact colours I used to create this freehand design and to read my explanation for how this ties into Carrie Underwood’s song, See You Again, keep reading the rest of this blog post!

Blog News: My Leopard Nail Art Tutorial on PromCanada.com

SwatchAndLearn February Nail ArtI have something exciting to share with you! For a little while, I’ve kept this quiet, but now it’s time to let the cat out of the bag. (Poor cat! Why were you ever put in a bag to begin with?) 😉

You may remember that recently, I told you about my print magazine feature for Prom Canada. Well, I got another amazing opportunity to collaborate with them!

I’m 1 of only 2 hand-picked Canadian bloggers to be chosen for the amazing opportunity to be featured on Prom Canada’s website! (Check out the post to see both of our nail creations throughout the year.)

For alternating months, I’ll be sharing a nail-art tutorial using Nicole by OPI nail polishes.

My first Prom Canada nail-art tutorial went up a couple of days ago, and it shows you step-by-step how to create funky Leopard Nail Art!

Nicole by OPI Teal Me Something New Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI Teal Me Something New Swatches & ReviewNicole by OPI Teal Me Something New is one of the shades added to the general collection for 2014.

It’s a gorgeous polish, but boy was it ever challenging for me to photograph!

While Teal Me Something New appears like it’s a very bright aqua, it’s actually more of a medium true teal, so please don’t get confused by the colour inaccuracy of my photos.

Even though the colour is off, at least you can see how smooth the formula is.

Nicole by OPI I Shop Mintage Swatches & Review (Mattified)

Nicole by OPI I Shop Mintage Swatches & ReviewNicole by OPI I Shop Mintage is a new addition to the general 2014 collection.

From the minute I caught a glimpse, I knew that I’d have to wear it mattified with the new Nicole by OPI Matte Top Coat. (You’ll probably remember when I first shared a photo of it on my Instagram.)

Although I’m a fan of shiny polishes, I feel like this one looks especially neat and almost like mint candy when it’s mattified!

I wore this shade for several days because that’s just how much I adored it. By the end, it was looking really ratty, though, and it got scratched up because I’ve been quite busy these days, packing boxes, tidying up, and getting ready to move to my new home soon! 🙂
