Nail Art: Chanel Peridot Argyle Konadicure

Chanel Peridot Argyle Konadicure Swatches & PicturesYears ago, Justin Timberlake thought that he was bringing sexy back. Yeah right – he can’t hold a candle to Chanel Peridot or any other multichrome nail polish, for that matter!

You’ll remember that I sported this sexy beast a while ago and gushed in a blog post about how it was the first Chanel anything I’ve ever owned. (It still is.)

This time I wore it, I decided to give it a little makeover. Since I love argyle and wanted to do a look that combined posh with preppy, I thought it was only appropriate to do a Chanel Peridot Argyle Konadicure using Konad Image Plate m60.

As you can see, I goofed up the stamping on the index finger, but it didn’t really bother me because the overall look was exactly what I was going for – tacky! πŸ˜‰ Seriously, sometimes tacky things make you smile like nothing else, and I needed something to smile about. Done and done!

It almost has a snakeskin feel to it, and as much as I dislike snakes, I really like the patterns on their skin.

Nail Art: Pink & Black Star Konadicure Swatches & Review

Black & Pink Star Nail Stamping Konad Image Plate m84 Pictures & Review smallerTwo weeks ago, I reviewed a mini bottle of Quo by Orly True Love. Although it was nice, I mentioned how I stamped over it to make it more me.

This Pink & Black Star Konadicure was the result!

I stamped the full-nail star pattern from Konad Image Plate m84 over my manicure using the black Konad Special Nail Polish.

Since it was my first time using the m84 Konad plate, I’ve included a photo of it as well as a brief review of this pattern near the end of this post in case you’re interested.

Also, my cuticles are really messy because I did a quick job at removing the black polish from my skin. My ‘secret’ is just letting the shower remove the rest of the polish – much easier! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to snap photos of the cleaned-up version. Hope you don’t mind. πŸ™‚ Continue reading

OPI Not Like the Movies Swatches, Review & Konadicure

OPI Not Like the Movies Swatches & ReviewAs I was going through my computer and deleting photos, I came across photos of OPI Not Like the Movies taken with my old cameraΒ in the summer.

Since I still strongly remember wearing this manicure, I feel comfortable providing you with an in-depth review of the polish.

This blog post is going to be slightly different than my typical swatch-and-review posts, though.

All the photos I show have the Konadicure I did on top of it because I didn’t wear the colour solo, and I have no photos of it solo. Despite this set-back, I think that you’ll still be able to see the multichrome nature of the polish. Continue reading

Nail Art Tutorial: Haunted House Nails

Flash Haunted Mansion Halloween Nail Art TutorialAt first, this design may look like a Christmas tree next to an egg yolk or like a whole bunch of random dots. Haha!

They’re really supposed to be Haunted House Nails – see how the black house has all the lights on? The small yellow ‘light’ can be seen from the windows. And that big ol’ egg yolk? Imagine that it’s a moon in the sky.

In my other photos of it in different lighting, hope you’re able to humour me and see a haunted mansion at night. πŸ™‚

I could see how you could tweak this design for Christmas. Instead of different-sized little dots, add multicoloured little dots for the string of lights.

To create this, I used a combination of nail stamping and freehand painting.

When I visited my mom on Sunday and showed her this, I asked her to guess what they were. “Dots!” She said. Hehe, okay, that’s technically correct. When I asked my boyfriend, he thought they were stylized Christmas trees. πŸ˜›

A man in his 50’s actually paused mid-sentence to tell me that he really liked my nails! (That was the first time an older man commented on my nails out of the blue…hehe, and on this Christmas-tree-and-egg-yolk design, too!)

There was also a little girl who kept staring at my nails on the subway. She was soooo cute! Every time I’d look at her, she’d look away and pretend that she wasn’t looking at my nails. Then, when I looked away, I could see her leaning forward to look at my fingers. Maybe she was trying to figure out what eggs had in common with trees. Or why someone had egged the tree. πŸ˜›

Nail Art Tutorial: Witch Nails

Witch Nails Nail Art Tutorial & SwatchesI’m having a lot of fun doing Hallowe’en nail art, so I’ll keep going with it. πŸ™‚

There’s nothing more classic than a witch on a broom flying across a moon, cackling as the menacing wind makes her cape flutter.

Since this is one of my favourite Hallowe’en scenes when I was a child, I decided to doΒ Witch Nails this time!

(Turn your head to the right to see it better…hehe, or just look at my horizontal swatches of it later on in this post.)

Hope you like ’em. They’re really fast to do as long as you have the stamping plate. Even if you don’t, perhaps you could freehand some pointed witch hats on your nails and maybe put a broom on an accent nail.

Also, consider adding some glitter on the moon to highlight it and to give it that extra bit of magical twinkle!

I left it plain and classic. I encourage you to put your own creative touch on your nail canvas! Have fun! Continue reading

Nail Art Tutorial: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Nails

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Nails Tutorial & SwatchesSometimes inspiration hits me between the eyes when I least expect it. *Ouch* Hehe…

Originally I was just going to do some nail stamping with Bundle Monster Image Plate BM-206. But when I finished my nails, the more I looked at the pattern, the more I thought about Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles! (I used to watch that show with my brother when I was little.)

The nail-art light bulb turned on. Eureka! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Nails were born!

From index finger to pinkie, let me introduce you to the pizza-eating-ass-whooping-sewage-dwelling crew: Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo.

This design is extremely easy to do, and it’s pretty fast to do, too. However, the one major drawback of this nail art is that it requires lots of different polish colours.

But…for those who have the supplies, I’d love for you to try it out and show me how yours turn out! πŸ™‚

And before I continue…I have one very important thing to say: Heroes in a half shell! Turtle power! πŸ˜› Haha, I’m such a nerd, I know…
