Nail Art: Hallowe’en Nails

Halloween Nails Nail ArtYesterday, I was a little tease and only gave you 3 clues on Swatch And Learn plus a small social-media reveal of the Hallowe’en nail art on my thumb.

Well, now I’m going to show you the full manicure of the Hallowe’en Nails I’ve been wearing for a few days!

To create this simple look, I used all 4 shades in the OPI Rock Goddess Mini Lacquer Set (the 4th shade was used on my thumb).

Then, I brought out a bunch of my beloved Bundle Monster Image Plates from different collections.

The images stamped in black were done with my almost-finished bottle of Konad Special Nail Polish in Black, and for Mr. Skelly Ton, I asked China Glaze Snow for some help!

Although I like all the designs, my favourite definitely is the skeleton because he looks like he’s throwing his hands in the air, and waving ’em all around like he just doesn’t care! 😉

Hehe, and when I show you that nail in closer detail, you’ll see how it appears that he’s throwing confetti in the air for a cray-cray dance party! (Yeah, that’s how excited I am about him. I never say cray-cray!)

I can also imagine him dancing to some awesome hip hop – haha, nothing like the music played by this skeleton I showed you a while ago on Instagram!

Also, as you can see, I trimmed my nails quite short, but look how much of the skeleton shows up! And see how even the fine details show up? I’m very impressed with the Bundle Monster image plate allowing me to pick up the image well with my Konad stamper!

China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze CollectionIt’s a bird! It’s a plane! Nope, it’s time flying by!

I can’t believe that soon it’ll be Hallowe’en in a few days and that Christmas is peeking at us from around the corner!

To get you in the festive spirit, today I’m blogging about the China Glaze Happy HoliGlaze Collection, which will be hitting stores in November.

I received the press release just yesterday evening – hehe, so it’s hot off the press! 😉 Enjoy!

I’m looking forward to wearing many of the shades in this collection. The glitters look so blingy and perfect for Christmas, and the idea of a white-textured nail polish to mimic snow sounds very intriguing!

The colours that stand out the most to me are This Is Tree-mendous (greeen fieeend here!), Your Present Required, There’s Snow One Like You, and Put a Bow on It.

Based on these promo pictures, which are your top picks that pique your curiosity?

Nail Art: Hallowe’en Spooky Eyes Nails

Halloween Nails Nail ArtI wear glasses, so you can call me “Four Eyes”. But now I also wear Hallowe’en Spooky Eyes Nail Art with 6 extra pairs, so you can do the math before giving me a new nickname. 😉

“What big eyes you have!” “All the better to see you!” *Adjusts glasses* *Adjusts nails*

I was in the mood for an offbeat manicure, so I decided to go for googly eyes.

On my index and pinkie fingers, I used China Glaze Papaya Punch with one glitter coat of China Glaze Boo-Gie Down (from the Monsters Ball Collection). Then, for the other fingers, I used Nicole by OPI Fisher Queen (from the Carrie Underwood Collection). The eyes are made with China Glaze Snow and Deborah Lippmann Fade to Black.

China Glaze Bat My Eyes Swatches & Review

China Glaze Bat My Eyes Swatches & ReviewContinuing on the Hallowe’en theme, I have for you a review on China Glaze Bat My Eyes, which is from the Monsters Ball Collection!

The name is cute, and it reminds me of some fake eyelashes I saw last night at a costume shop. They had little bat cut-outs attached to the tips.

Oh my gosh! China Glaze Bat My Eyes is so gorgeous with its dark base and high-contrast glitter.

To me, it looks really luxurious, like crushed up gold used as confetti for some pompous party. Hehe!

China Glaze Bump in the Night Swatches & Review

China Glaze Bump in the Night Swatches & ReviewNail polish is one of the things that go bump in the night! 😉

China Glaze Bump in the Night is a black textured nail polish from the Monsters Ball Collection.

Before wearing it, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it just because I’ve grown fond of textured lacquers that have some glitter dispersed throughout compared to ones that don’t. (I feel like it gives the overall look more dimension and visual interest.)

But something about Bump in the Night really works. The texture adds an edginess to the raven black, so I really enjoyed it. The drama and bold contrast are right up my alley.

This is especially great for a spooky Hallowe’en manicure, but I think I’ll sport it again any time of year because I love the effect and how dark the black is.

China Glaze Red-y & Willing Swatches & Review

China Glaze Red-y & Willing Swatches & ReviewChina Glaze Red-y & Willing from the Autumn Nights Collection is a sexy lacquer that’ll make nailphiles need to fan themselves just to cool off!

This hot tamale not only has a sultry colour, but the formulation on this is a joy to paint with.

As you know, I don’t usually go nuts over red nail polishes. (There have been just a few exceptions.) This one got me excited because it has a vampire-esque, cloak-of-darkness attitude with an edgy attitude.

Wow, I continue to be impressed by the China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection – it’s on a roll! Continue reading

China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

China Glaze Monsters Ball CollectionAttention all ghouls and goblins!

There’s a new Hallowe’en nail-polish collection hitting stores this October – the China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection!

Hallowe’en is my favourite holiday, so I’m always excited to see what comes out when the weather gets cooler and when fun costumes make their way to grocery-store aisles.

The other day, I was at Shoppers Drug Mart and saw their new Hallowe’en display. They had a toy clown in a cage where you could press a button to activate it. I did so, and even though I expected something shocking, I didn’t expect what happened, so I jumped!

I was never into clowns. Having seen Stephen King’s movie, It, when I was way too young may have affected me.

Haha, and this toy clown had a high-pitched voice that was loud and abrupt. Plus the toy lunged forward and stuck its head through the soft cage bars!

If you swing by Shoppers, go check it out. But make sure that your heart can take it, first! 😉

Going back to the China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection, I like how there are lots of fun glitters included. Howl You Doin’ and Bat My Eyes really speak to me!

I’m also really pleased to see that China Glaze collaborated with and gave visible credit to Abigail Larson, the illustrator. If you don’t know why this is particularly important, do a little Googling about what happened last Hallowe’en. You’ll understand why it’s a big deal. 🙂
