Yesterday, I received the press release for the Pretty Serious Cosmetics Christmas Without Snow Collection!
It made me think about how I immediately associate snow with Christmas. Being a Canadian, winters often spell snow. (Last year, however, was pretty strange. We hardly got any snow, and the weather was extremely mild!)
I’m the type of person who likes to admire the snow…from inside where it’s cozy and warm. 😉 I dislike shovelling snow (I’m terrible at it), I feel the cold as though I’m an elderly woman, I can never fall asleep when my chicken feet are cold, and I’m really bad at skiing.
Yeah, maybe I need to move to California…or perhaps I need to put my pride aside and purchase a hot-water bottle to warm up my bed. *Thinks about it while knitting in a rocking chair* (Okay, I don’t have a rocking chair, but I’ve loved them ever since I was a little kid. Yes, I was born an old lady, I suppose…)
Going back to the Pretty Serious Cosmetics Christmas Without Snow Collection…It reminded me that not everyone associates snow with Christmas. In some places, it’s balmy. Maybe they make a ‘sandman’ instead of a ‘snowman’.
Of the 6 shades in the Christmas Without Snow Collection, the ones that excite me the most are Blue Gums on Boxing Day, Party by the Pool, Hot Summer Nights, and Seasonal Sunset. Haha, that’s practically the entire collection!
I put together the below group shot so you could see all the colours together. 🙂
There are 6 shades in the Pretty Serious Christmas Without Snow Collection:
- Seasonal Sunset
- Blue Gums on Boxing Day
- Hot Summer Nights
- Party by the Pool
- Santa’s Sunburn
- Twinkling Lights
Here’s the official press release sent to me by Pretty Serious Cosmetics:

Hey Elissa!
Hehe, the name of that polish makes me giggle! Do you think Santa has a special peppermint after-sun lotion?
I feel you on the cold distress lol. I lift up the blankies from the foot of the bed and wave a blowdryer under there for like 30 seconds before I climb into bed. BAM! no more cold feet! It’s the greatest feeling in the winter, climbing into an already warm cozy bed!
Hey coleenythemeany!
Haha, funny name you have! Are you really a meany?
Hehe, I’m picturing you using the blow dryer like that. You’re so cute!
I didn’t know you were in Australia. How cool! 🙂 I’m in Texas so we don’t generally get a “white Christmas” either. lol I love Seasonal Sunset and Twinkling Lights!! So pretty.

Hey Lizzy!
I’m Canadian! (It’s only a matter of time before we get a lot of snow. We got a bit, but nothing accumulated yet!) The woman behind the Pretty Serious Cosmetics company is from Australia. 🙂
I’m looking forward for Party by the Pool and Twinkling Lights! Where can you buy Pretty Serious nail polish in stores?
Hey maddy!
I don’t think you can buy Pretty Serious Cosmetics nail polish in stores. As far as I know, it’s only available online and on the official website.
What awesome colors you got on this collection! It’s a fantastic glow any women would love to wear to shine on the night.
Hey Marta!
I haven’t seen any of these in person, but, yeah, they do look pretty amazing, don’t they? Plus I think the concept is fun. You don’t usually see Christmas collections that don’t assume Christmas involves snow and cold weather. 🙂
As a fellow Canadian I too also don’t care for the snow. Unless it’s from inside. Although I would rather mover to London. I’m also not a fan of hot locations. Give me mild and dreary any day!
And Seasonal Sunset and Party by the pool are my favourites of the bunch!

Hey Kas!
For me, the ideal weather is mild with no humidity – like the beginning of autumn. It’s comfortable, you can wear all different types of clothes and layers, and your hair doesn’t get frizzy!
Oooh…love them all, especially Seasonal Sunset…maybe could live without Twinkling Lights…
Darn you Mary! 😉 More to add to my wish list. Already had Elliott & Emma Louise on my list from this company…really like to try some soon. 🙂
Oh, and I don’t get along with shovels either…. LOL
Hey Kim!
Haha, sorry! 😉 But, I’ll gladly take responsibility for anything nail-polish related. Hehe!
I hear ya – I have so many shades on my To-Buy List, but my wallet needs to chill out for a while until I can splurge again.
Hahaha, yeah, those shovels are hard to get along with. 😉 When I was growing up, my dad and older brother used to do the shovelling. I was in charge of making the hot chocolate. 😉 When I got older, I helped out sometimes, but I am just terrible at shovelling, and my dad is a master at it. The driveway would be immaculate!
