OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever is the very first OPI Infinite Shine nail polish that I’ve ever tried, and it’s one of the twelve new colours in the OPI Infinite Shine Summer 2015 Collection!
This sunny yellow reminds me of Easter chicks and buttercups, so it’s definitely a happy-go-lucky shade.
Plus the name itself makes me smile because I can totally see someone doing honeybee nail art on top. (You may remember that years ago, back in 2011, I did Bee Nail Art (with a tutorial), but I used a vibrant yellow. It would be really cute to paint some bees on a softer yellow.)
If you’ve tried any yellow nail polishes, you know that many of them tend to be fussy, streaky, and quite the diva.
How did OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever stack up? Is the higher price tag of the Infinite Shine polishes worth it? See the rest of my review, as I weigh in.

OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever Review
Bee Mine Forever by OPI is an Infinite Shine nail lacquer that is a sweet and soft custard yellow. It’s a pastel with a little punch. (Okay, maybe the word ‘punch’ is too aggressive. This yellow is more like a little love tap for your nails. Ahh, that sounds better!)
Some yellows are so washed out that they look like they went through a weekend bender with zero sleep. (You know how you’re supposed to apply a banana-shade of powder under your eyes? Well, what powder would a yellow nail polish put under their eyes to conceal dark circles? The things that make you go hmm…or is it just me? And yes, I know that nail polish doesn’t have eyes…) 😉
Really anemic yellows tend to make my fingers look sickly. However, yellows like this that are pale, but that still have enough of a cheerful personality to them are actually flattering. (I can only speak from my personal experience, but there’s something about this type of not-too-white-based yellow that I really enjoy against my skin tone.)
Yellows can be tricky to pull off, but don’t give up if you haven’t found the right one yet. (I purposely included my all-time favourite yellow polish, OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana in my 5th blogiversary giveaway because I really wanted you to try a yellow!)
I feel like a lot of people steer clear of them because they’re worried about looking like they have a bad case of jaundice, but once you find your flattering yellow, it’s like bringing the Easter parade with you wherever you go!
Bee Mine Forever by OPI has a smooth, creme finish, which is simple yet stunning! It really allows the colour to be the star of the show without any distractions that you might get from glitter or a duochrome.
Some pale yellows can have that ‘chalky’ appearance, which makes them look flat and stale. That’s definitely not the case with Bee Mine Forever! It’s shiny and creamy!
Application & Formula
Applying yellow nail polishes can be a nightmare. Most are streaky and take three or more coats to achieve full opacity.
OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever is similar to OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana in that they both go on really smoothly. The latter has a slightly better formula, but I still won’t complain because Bee Mine Forever reaches full coverage after just two medium coats that I used. For a yellow, that is impressive!
Also, I didn’t need to fuss around with the polish to get it to look even. It went on easily, and I didn’t get any cuticle drag.
This is one of the better yellow nail polishes on the market!
All of the OPI Infinite Shine nail polishes retail for $18 CAD, which is significantly more expensive than the regular OPIs that ring up at $9.95 CAD.
Is OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever worth the hefty $18 price tag? That’s definitely up to your budget because we all have different financial situations. What’s expensive to me may be nothing to someone else.
While I’m impressed with Bee Mine Forever and absolutely loved this manicure, I can’t in good faith tell you that it’s better than OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana, which is less expensive. If you want a similar yellow, then get the regular OPI because the formula is so amazing, it’s like the unicorn of yellows.
If you would like to treat yourself and splurge on something special, however, you won’t be disappointed with OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever.
Final Verdict: 9.5/10
I absolutely loved OPI Infinite Shine Bee Mine Forever and wanted to give it a perfect score of 10 out of 10, but the significant price jump from the regular OPIs made me deduct half a point.
If you collect yellow nail polishes and want one with an excellent formula in your collection, this is a wonderful one to add, if you’re willing to splurge.
Which yellow nail polishes would you recommend me and my readers try? What’s the best yellow you’ve ever worn? Aside from on your nails, do you ever wear yellow, like with a statement handbag or a cute top?
Wow that is great coverage for such a pale yellow! Really digging it 🙂 I’ll add it to my ever growing wishlist, ha ha!
Hmmm, maybe I will give Infinite Shine another try, I tried a darker grey one from the last collection and had terrible separation issues with it on the nail,, especially where I first touched with topcoat. It seemed to melt the polish despite a 15 min dry time!

love your review- love this color!! i’ve purchased so many polishes just based on your blog posts about them, and i have yet to regret a single one! 😉
today is a landmark day for this gal.. i just received my first ever order from Pretty Serious. of course, your polish was one of the 4 i so carefully picked out. it was a no-brainer.. i’ve been reading about it and drooling over swatches for the last year.. i just never order online and i never owned indie polishes until very recently. i opened the package just a few hours ago and i’m applying ”Swatch and Learn” to my nails right MEOW! it was the first polish i ripped out of its cute little box ! and it was all *gasp!* and *swoon* .. and get it on my nails ASAP! 😉 <3
Really cute color on you. I usually purchase china glaze, I love their polish. However I bite my fingernails. You should totally write a post on nail care. I think it would help motivate people like me who need to stop biting their nails. 🙂
I LOVE this color and the name is just too cute! I was wondering, can it be used with other base coats or do you have to use the OPI Infinite Shine Primer to get these results? Thanks as always for sharing with us!
I just purchased this colour yesterday at Sally’s Beauty Supply. I purchased mine for $12.50 with a Sally’s card. I have only tried one polish and was very impressed with the quality of the polish. It looks exquisite on your nails and I can’t wait to try it on my nails as well.
This yellow looks fantastic on you! You should try Spring Yellow Creme by Beyond The Nail. I hate seeing myself in yellow. I think it makes me look weird lol.

It is a sweet yellow – but I think I have a similar in my stash and since yellows are no favourite (I only/mostly use them around easter and for nail art) I am not really tempted by this. I came here for your words and right now I am giggling because of the ‘little love tap for your nails’:)
By the way, do you still have I Don’t Give A Rotterdam in your collection? And if you do, has the colour changed over the years? I remember thinking mine was greyer than the swatches showed (I bought it a year or so after the release), but I thought I could see some blue – but today it is all grey?? A pretty grey, but no where near the colour shown in press releases and many, many swatches. A Swedish blogger has experienced the same, so I am wondering if I’ve gotten a bad bottle with fading pigments or if there were to different versions of Rotterdam, the first one blue and the latter grey, and I just convinced myself that mine was bluer. I bought it from a licenced seller and stored it in my helmer.
So, if you still have Rotterdam, could you please check the colour and perhaps compare it to your old swatches? If not, sorry for the wall of Words:)
Cute name for this one. I have one yellow that I don’t wear often because the formula drives me nuts…so I think I’m willing to pay the higher price for Bee Mine Forever since the formula is good.
