Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk Swatches & Review

Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk Swatches & ReviewYour eyes are like pools of mystery, waiting to be discovered like the beating of words against the drums of emotion.

Yeah, that’s right. I like being wooed in the most ridiculous way. None of that “Did you hurt yourself when you fell from heaven?” crap.

The weirder? The better!

In fact, a pet name I had for a then-boyfriend was “Sugar Possum”! Yeah, that kind of weird interests me. (His pet name for me was “Armadillo Pillow”, in case you were wondering.)

And Rainbow Honey Sweet Talk is an indie polish that strays enough from the ordinary to perk up my rabbit ears to make me take note!

It’s a really neat milky nail polish with fun glitter thrown in. If cookies and cream went to a snack party, I imagine this is how it would dress up. Yes, things like that happen in my mind. 😉 (Oh, if only I told you everything that goes on in this ‘mush upstairs’, and you’d be running for the hills! Hehe!)

Zoya Rebel Swatches & Review

Zoya Rebel Swatches & ReviewZoya Rebel is from the Awaken Collection, which is new for Spring 2014, and it’s one of those shades that also has an icy look to it.

On one hand, it reminds me of raindrops, but on the other hand, it conjures up mental images of icicles and Old Man Winter blowing cold air over the frigid land.

Unfortunately, yesterday, I woke up to lots of snow. On my way to work, I snapped a photo of the snow-covered plants. You may have seen the Instagram photo I posted. Yup – winter strikes back, indeed!

I’m still waiting for Mr. Winter to get the memo that he’s overstaying his welcome. He needs to share the calendar year with 3 others, y’know? C’mon! Sharing is caring!

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Night Cream Review & Pictures

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Night Cream ReviewI used to wear moisturizers from the drugstore, but it wasn’t until I splurged on Shiseido skincare a couple of years ago that I really felt like I had hit that sweet spot with my skin.

Sure, the much-higher price tag is still hard for me to swallow, but if there’s something that you shouldn’t skimp on, it’s your skin, your body’s largest organ. So I feel that it’s worth every single penny.

(If you shell out for makeup, stuff you put on top, you had better make sure the canvas it’s sitting on is a good foundation.)

Through the couple of years that I’ve dived into Shiseido skincare, I’ve found my favourite when my skin feels dry, like it did during the seemingly endless winter we had this year: the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Night Cream!

It’s more for mature, dry skin, but even though I’m in my 30s, I really enjoyed it. Plus I’m a late-bloomer when it comes to using anti-aging skincare. Pretty much all my friends started using age-defying skincare in their early 20s. Better late than never!

Although nail polish is more fun for me to review, I knew I had to share a review on this because I recently just finished an entire tub of it, and I repurchased it during the Sephora VIB Rouge sale this month.

Zoya Hudson Swatches & Review

Zoya Hudson Swatches & ReviewZoya Hudson from the Awaken Collection that I shared a Quick Look post on is great for putting a little bit of spring onto your fingertips.

It’s a soft purple that makes me think of Easter, and the silver brings to mind little droplets of rain that you see on the windowpane, as you gaze outside on a spring evening.

(I really love doing that! The sound of rain is so relaxing, haha, unless you have to go to the washroom!) 😛

This shade is just the manicure I needed to brighten my spirits because 2014 has been challenging so far on several personal levels.

OPI Muppets World Tour Swatches & Review (Layered Over OPI Int’l Crime Caper)

OPI Muppets World Tour Swatches & ReviewOPI Muppets World Tour is from the Muppets Most Wanted Collection, and it gives your fingers plenty of bling!

Here, I’ve worn it over OPI Int’l Crime Caper, which is also from the same collection. I thought that it stayed in the colour family, but would add an ‘icy’ quality to the overall look.

How would you wear OPI Muppets World Tour?

What I found very interesting about OPI Muppets World Tour is that there are white, silver, blue, and pink pieces of glitter, which give it a cool, speckled appearance while still being very blingtastic!

I was able to photograph this polish in natural light, sunlight, and with my camera’s flash, so you can really see all the beauty it has to offer!

OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around Swatches & Review

OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around Swatches & ReviewIf you’re looking for a clean, but not stark, palate cleanser, OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around from the Brazil Collection is a great option.

The more I wear these kind of shades, the more I’m appreciating natural nail looks more.

There’s something about a shade that can make your hands look very elegant. (And, although I’m a green-nail-polish lover at heart, I will be making more room for soft hues like this!)

I love how they always match whatever you’re wearing, and when you need a short break in between the louder colours, this one is very lady-like without being boring.

Since I don’t wear soft hues as much as loud ones, in a way, OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around is a ‘novelty shade’!

Rainbow Honey The Kraken Swatches & Review

Rainbow Honey The Kraken Swatches & ReviewRainbow Honey The Kraken from The Summer of 199X Collection reminds me so much of The Little Mermaid that I feel like I’m flipping my fins and getting into mischief while Sebastian the Crab is going nuts! 😉

This is one of the prettiest nail polish that I’ve worn in a long time.

It has that jellyish, ‘under-the-sea’ look, along with shimmer and glitter! It’s like looking at underwater treasure for your nails. 🙂

As you know, I’ve only worn a handful of Rainbow Honey nail polishes – it’s a new-to-me brand. So far, I’m highly impressed!

So, without further ado, release the Kraken! (Hehe, bonus points for anyone who gets that reference and who gets a giggle from it!)
