Rainbow Honey The Kraken Swatches & Review

Rainbow Honey The Kraken Swatches & ReviewRainbow Honey The Kraken from The Summer of 199X Collection reminds me so much of The Little Mermaid that I feel like I’m flipping my fins and getting into mischief while Sebastian the Crab is going nuts! 😉

This is one of the prettiest nail polish that I’ve worn in a long time.

It has that jellyish, ‘under-the-sea’ look, along with shimmer and glitter! It’s like looking at underwater treasure for your nails. 🙂

As you know, I’ve only worn a handful of Rainbow Honey nail polishes – it’s a new-to-me brand. So far, I’m highly impressed!

So, without further ado, release the Kraken! (Hehe, bonus points for anyone who gets that reference and who gets a giggle from it!)

China Glaze Tail Me Something Swatches & Review

China Glaze Tail Me Something Swatches & ReviewChina Glaze Tail Me Something is described as a glistening light lavender, according to the press release about the China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection.

It’s spot on! This textured nail polish has so much glitz and glam, when you wear it, it catches the light and makes you think you’re wearing the nail-polish equivalent of jewelry!

As you know, I’m always happy to have textured nail polish on my nails because it’s one of the trends that I’ve been most excited about in a long time.

Would you wear this purple?

OPI Glitter Off Base Coat Review & Pictures

OPI Glitter Off Base Coat Review & PicturesNot long ago, I published the press release for the OPI Glitter Off Base Coat on here, and you’ll remember that I was really intrigued by the concept, especially considering that I haven’t tried any of the do-it-yourself PVA glue base coats.

Designed to be worn on your natural nail, the OPI Glitter Off Base Coat is supposed to protect the nails from stains while also making it easy for you to simply peel off heavy-duty glitter nail polish. You can forego using removers and scrubbing your nails raw.

I really put this new OPI base coat to the test because when I was moving to my new home and had to unpack a lot of cardboard boxes, I was wearing this underneath OPI Blush Hour, an unapologetic glitterbomb from the OPI Spotlight on Glitter Collection!

Note: I will update this post soon to show you photos of the brush and the polish’s consistency.

Edit: (April 7, 2014) I updated this post to also include the full ingredient list since a lot of readers were interested.

Rainbow Honey Magic Cake Swatches & Review (Layered Over OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around)

Rainbow Honey Magic Cake Swatches & ReviewI never had a plate of magic cake, but my nails got to experience a little bit of ‘abracadabra’! 😉

Today, I’d like to show you the awesomeness that is Rainbow Honey Magic Cake! (I layered it over OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around from the Brazil Collection.)

It’s one of the few indie nail polishes that I own, and it’s more fun than a bunch of animal balloons.

The bright colours make me think of my childhood because I used to wear a lot of neon clothing. (Hey, it was all the rage when I grew up in the 1980s!)

I just love how fun all the different pieces of glitter combine to create a fun party on your nails!

OPI Blush Hour Swatches & Review

OPI Blush Hour Swatches & ReviewAlthough it’s just been a few days since I last published a post on here, it feels like way longer!

Thanks for your patience with me as I’m in the transition period of getting things organized at my new home.

Today, I have a glittertastic nail polish from the OPI Spotlight on Glitter Collection that you saw me showing in photos and a video on my Instagram – OPI Blush Hour!

This is so full of glitter that it’s definitely for those who love diva-esque bling!

I was wearing this manicure during my move because I really wanted to put this glitter nail polish through the ringer. Underneath, I was wearing the new OPI Glitter Off Base Coat to test the durability of that, too. (I’ll be reviewing that base coat in-depth in an upcoming post!)

It was the perfect opportunity because I was opening boxes and being brutal on my nails and hands. (On any given day, I’m also rough on my hands, since my full-time job requires me to be typing on the keyboard. However, because I took a few days off work to focus on my move and the unpacking process, I was even harder than ever before on my nails and hands. The cuticles around both of my thumbs were completely dry and ravaged, but this is real life!)

So how did this chunky glitter fare? Well, there’s only one way to find out. Come…follow the White Rabbit! *Hop hop hop* 😉

Peach Nail-Polish Comparison Swatches & Photos

Peach Nail Polish ComparisonIt’s already spring, but Old Man Winter is being rude and overstaying his welcome.

There’s only so much cold weather I can take. (My hands and feet sometimes feel like blocks of ice! Brrrr!)

To coax winter into allowing the spring weather to arrive, I thought I’d do a Peach Nail-Polish Comparison post.

Don’t know about you, but whenever I see peach nail polish, I immediately think about the spring and summer!

Let’s see if a little colour therapy works!

Nicole by OPI Carnival Cotton Candy Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI Carnival Cotton Candy SwatchesYes, I’ve got another in-depth review of a Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood nail polish for you today!

This time, it’s Nicole by OPI Carnival Cotton Candy!

It’s a sweet pink that I can see many little girls (and the young at heart) drooling over because it has that innocent and playful look to it.

Since it has a creme finish and it’s pigmented, you could use this as a base for lots of wonderful nail creations!

The name ‘Carnival Cotton Candy’ reminds me of my dad because when I was little and we went to the local carnival, he would always buy me cotton candy. Hehe, and since when I was a girl, my favourite colour was pink, the candy floss would always be pink. (Years later, I decided that the blue and yellow candy floss were also pretty yummy, and I stopped limiting my dietary restriction to just the pink kind.)
