4 Free Zoya Nail Polishes (January 6-13, 2016)

Zoya Nail Polish

If you’re a big fan of Zoya nail polish like I am, then take advantage of this new 2016 promotion to Get Any 4 Zoya Nail Polishes FREE when you use the coupon code “4YOU” on the Zoya website starting tomorrow, January 6 until January 13 at 11:59 pm EST!

It’s valid for Canadian and Continental United States orders only, and it excludes pre-packed items, the Naked Manicure, Zoya Treatments, and the Whispers Collection shades.

Although the polishes are free, you still have to pay shipping, but it’s a good deal, as the shipping fee is $15 USD. International processing fees apply for orders outside of the United States, but when I ordered from them a while ago, I remember those fees being minimal.

This post features just a few of the many beautiful Zoya nail polishes in my collection.

If you’d like to read detailed reviews on specific Zoya nail-polish shades and see more swatches, click the above link.

P.S. In-depth reviews and swatches of some shades from the Zoya Whispers Collection are coming to the blog soon, so stay tuned!

KBShimmer Blue Topaz Swatches & Review

KBShimmer Blue Topaz Swatches & Review

For my first manicure of 2016, I decided to share with you the nail polish I wore to ring in the New Year: KBShimmer Blue Topaz from the Birthstone Collection! (I ended up wearing it for a few days straight.)

KBShimmer Blue Topaz represents the December birthstone, and that’s partially why I chose it as my New Year’s Eve manicure. The other reason was that I associate blue with “New Year.” Also, the saying ‘something old, something new, and something blue’ popped into my mind.

In the bottle, KBShimmer Blue Topaz is magnificent, and I was curious to see how it would translate onto the nails. Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed! It’s so glitzy on the nails – a true celebratory polish!

In person, it dazzles like the Stars on Ice show, but it posed quite the challenge to photograph because it’s very reflective. This is one of those polishes that looks a hundred times even more brilliant in person!

Zoya Whispers Collection Preview

Zoya Whispers Collection

Psst! *Lures you with a come-hither index finger*

While New Year’s Eve festivities are just a day away, you probably have the glitz on your nails. But when the confetti falls to the ground and 2016 greets us, you may want to shift pace and opt for softer shades that are great palate cleansers for your nails.

In today’s Zoya Whispers Collection preview, I’ll share with you bottle shots and swatches of all six sweeter-than-molasses hues:

Now that I’ve seen these in person, I’m still drawn to Ireland (green) and Lake (blue) the most. Combined, I could visualize how they’d create an Earth Day nail design a la Baby Einstein! Cute!

If you’re interested in reading the official Zoya Whispers Collection press release and seeing the promotional images, click the above link that’ll take you to the post I published just a few days ago with more information.

Essie Apres-Chic Swatches & Review

Essie Apres-Chic Swatches & Review

My complexion has a warm undertone, so silver can sometimes be tricky for me to pull off. Nevertheless, I’m always game when it comes to testing out a new silver nail polish because I love how celebratory it looks!

Essie Apres-Chic from the Winter 2015 Collection is a silver that would warm the nail-polish-loving hearts of the Snow Queen and Frosty the Snowman.

Tin Man, eat your heart out!

Wintry with a wind-chill factor of minus twenty, Essie Apres-Chic certainly keeps its cool and found its way onto this blogger’s nails!

I wore this a while ago, but finally I’m bringing you the full review and more swatches of this flashy Essie nail polish.

Pretty Serious Hack the Halls Swatches & Review

Pretty Serious Hack the Halls Swatches & Review

Considering that green nail polish is my ‘Comfort Colour,’ it’s surprising how it’s been a while since I sported one!

Pretty Serious Hack the Halls, come to mama! 😉

Hailing from the Pretty Serious Ghosts of Christmas Future Collection, this new grass green with a metallic foil finish is what I imagine the lawns in the year 4000 to look like. (Maybe by then, they’ll be self-watering.)

Whoa – can you believe that Christmas is just days away? Where did December go? I feel like in the blink of an eye, the Efficient Elves came, wrapped up the month in curly ribbons, and are already preparing for next year’s campaign!

Hey, did any of you watch the Miss Universe 2015 competition? I rarely ever tune into beauty pageants, but I saw short snippets while also checking out Mariah Carey’s Christmas specials.

It was unfortunate that Steve Harvey flubbed his climactic announcement, which led to initially crowning the incorrect winner. However, this is just another reminder that people make mistakes. We’re human. And sadly, people get socially crucified when they’re not flawless. It didn’t help that, in his case, his mortifying mistake was broadcast live, opening a can of worms for ridicule and memes referencing that Kanye-Taylor-Beyonce awards-show moment.

I don’t know a lot about Steve Harvey, but the way he handled this major slip-up makes me respect him. He didn’t externalize things and list excuses for why he read the card wrong. He was accountable for his actions, he apologized to the appropriate individuals, and he expressed that he was upset about making the mistake.

It sounded genuine to me, and although it may affect his future career opportunities, it means a lot that he owned up to it right off the bat. (I’m not a fan of sweeping things under the rug due to inflated egos.)

Essie Shall We Chalet? Swatches & Review

Essie Shall We Chalet Swatches & Review

It’s really crazy how quickly December has gone by so far. If it zipped by any faster, it would be like a ferret racing to beat a red light!

A classic red creme is a staple for most traditional Christmas manicures, and you may remember that I sported Essie Shall We Chalet? (from the Winter 2015 Collection) in freehand holiday nail art and a stamped ugly Christmas sweater nail design.

Even beyond the holidays, you can’t go wrong with a red nail polish because it’s one of those colours that’s easy for everyday wear, and it’s a simple way to add a bold BAM to your look.
