Butter London Trout Pout Swatches & Review

Butter London Trout Pout Swatches & ReviewFirst of all, would you look at how big that cap is? It practically dominates the majority of the photo!

This is the first Butter London polish that I’ve ever worn, so it’s quite dear to my heart.

It’s called Butter London Trout Pout, which hails from the Spring Summer 2012 Collection.

I think the name is hilarious and cheeky – very fitting for an eye-catching coral pink!

So what did I think of the Butter London nail polish formula? There’s only one way to find out!

OPI Sparkle-icious Swatches & Review (Layered Over China Glaze Gothic Lolita)

OPI Sparkle-icious Swatches & ReviewWhen the OPI Burlesque Collection came out in 2010, I really wanted Sparkle-icious, but held off on snatching it up. At the time, I thought that the lemming would be squashed after a few months. Nope!

But by the time I caved, it sold out everywhere. And I wasn’t prepared to pay an inflated price, either.

Then, low and behold, one day, it popped up randomly on an etailer for a less-than-retail price. Without blinking, I placed the order. And sure enough, a few days later, they sold out of every bottle. (Thank goodness I didn’t dilly dally when I had a second chance!)

This post is a bit of a tease because it’s harder to find now, but considering how gorgeous it is, it would be a real crime to not share this with you all. πŸ˜‰

China Glaze Gothic Lolita Swatches & Review

China Glaze Gothic Lolita Swatches & ReviewThere are some polishes that crave the bright lights and the attention of a flashing camera in their direction. (They even wear over-sized sunglasses so they come across as bigger stars than they actually are…)

Then there are those that huddle in the corner and act like shy wallflowers. You have to coax them to come to the spotlight, and you have to tell them that their doting fans wish to see them.

China Glaze Gothic Lolita from the ElectroPop Collection wasn’t shy, but it wasn’t a diva, either. It just refused to show me its true colours in front of the camera despite me taking pictures in different lighting conditions!

After spending some quality time with Gothic Lolita, she finally opened up to me over a cup of coffee. She’s really a pink purple rather than a blue purple like she looks in my photos.

(P.S. Check back again tomorrow to see what I put on top of this polish. Any guesses?) πŸ˜‰

Nail Art Tutorial: Pot of Gold Nails

Pot of Gold Nails Nail Art Tutorial & SwatchesA couple of days ago, I brought you a shamrock nail-art design I came up with. Today, I have Pot of Gold Nails!

This is a very quick look that you can whip up in no time.

But, if you have some extra time to spend, consider adding a rainbow that leads to the gold. You could also put a metallic dollar-sign on the pot.

Hope that you like this easy design. It was pretty fun wearing this on my fingertips. But I was on the lookout for any leprechauns that would come to claim their treasure. πŸ˜‰

Nail Art: Shamrock Nails

Shamrock Nails Nail Art Swatches & PicturesFour-leaf clovers, horseshoes, and poor little rabbits’ paws are all considered to be good-luck charms.

While I do believe that some people are graced with good luck in certain situations, I don’t believe that carrying around these ‘charms’ does anything except calm your nerves. (That being said, a couple of years ago, I dressed up as Lady Luck for Hallowe’en and won first place for Best Female Costume.) πŸ˜€

The only kind of lucky charm that I enjoy is the edible kind – the Lucky Charms cereal…hehe!

To honour St. Patrick’s Day in advance, I decided to do these easy Shamrock Nails.

Why the fishnet design? Why not? πŸ˜‰ I thought having the shamrocks on all the nails would just be boring, and I remembered how much I loved the fishnet pattern the first time I tried it over a red polish.

Looking back now, though, I wish that I did the same design on my thumb’s nail for all of my fingers. I like the combination of the shamrock and the fishnet on the same nail.

Color Club Perfect Mol-ten Swatches & Review

Color Club Perfect Mol-ten Swatches & ReviewAlien robots. The Jolly Green Giant transforming into a metallic monster. A leprechaun poppin’ to some nasty techno beats. Seafoam slime from the future.

Those are all the first things I thought of when I wore Color Club Perfect Mol-ten.

This sharp green foil wooed me with its flashy style. And I’m a sucker for a looker like this. πŸ˜‰

The perfect man may be hard to find. But the perfect polish? Found it!

Have you fallen for it, too? Go ahead! Don’t worry – I’ll catch you…

Nicole by OPI It’s All About the Glam Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI It's All About the Glam Swatches & ReviewWhen I was in grade school, my friends and I used to paint our nails with White Out. We thought it was so cool, even though the finish was bumpy and the fumes could knock you out in no time flat.

I’ve never really been one to wear white on my nails solo since then.

But when I got the opportunity to try Nicole by OPI It’s All About the Glam a while ago, I gave it a go because sometimes when you don’t wear a colour for a long time, you can have a change of heart.

Did I fall for the shimmery-white polish? Or am I still the same ole Mary?
