NYX HD High Definition Eye Shadow Base Review & Swatches

NYX HD Eyeshadow Base Review & SwatchesA lot of US shoppers are frustrated and angry because of the major fail that took place recently during the NYX 12-year anniversary sale.

Sometimes crap happens, but at least they’re issuing out coupon codes to let their customers know they’re trying to right the wrong. Sure, the new offer isn’t as good as the original, but at least they’re doing something.

As a Canadian, I never got to participate in any of the crazy NYX online deals, but even after hearing about what happened, I’m still a NYX customer. I appreciate their dedication to providing affordable makeup – their prices are typically already very inexpensive whether or not they go on sale.

Today, I’ll be reviewing the NYX HD High Definition Eye Shadow Base, which costs much less than its counterparts by Too Faced, Urban Decay, and Smashbox.

What I love about this NYX eye primer isn’t just the low price. I’m willing to spend a lot for a product that works instead of paying less for a craptastic one that will spend more time collecting dust. The NYX eyeshadow primer really works well, and that’s why I find myself reaching for it very often. Continue reading

Ever since I gave in and purchased my first elf Cosmetics product, I’ve been on a mission. This line is so affordable that it has me in jaw-dropped disbelief, and I want to find out how much product quality is sacrificed for a low price tag.

A lot of the products are quite hit and miss, brushes especially. I’m in love with most of their nail polishes, and some of their mineral eyeshadows have my approval and some with disapproval. This is the first time I’ve tried their pigmented shadows. And since there weren’t a lot of colors to choose from, I went with a trusty purple.

Is e.l.f. Passionate Purple Pigment Eyeshadow a hit or a miss? Find out! Continue reading

Shopping is my chosen form of therapy. And every few months, the Object of My Obsession changes. Cookbooks, watches, shoes, jewelry – whatever I’m obsessed with at the moment, I want to buy, buy, buy. My wallet and I are currently on the outs because of it.

My most-recent OoMO is lip products. Big surprise for me, seeing as previously the only thing I put on my lips is Chapstick. Now I need my lip balm or gloss, ‘cuz my lip gloss be cool; my lip gloss be poppin’! (So ashamed I know that song.)

Today, I’ll be reviewing The Body Shop Born Lippy Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm. I previously reviewed the Pink Guava one, and surprisingly, it’s more than just the scent that’s different. Continue reading

Every woman and man should focus on the things that they love about themselves. Forget the bad, and concentrate on the good. I’m not just talking about appearance. I’ve been feeling down lately because I waste a lot of energy on the negative things. May is going to be the month that I attempt optimism. I hope you’ll join me!

Reason why I begin this review with this is: I’ve always disliked my eyelashes. But instead of telling you why I don’t like them, I’ll tell you what I like. 🙂 They’re not bushy, so they’re easy to manage. They’re easy to curl because they’re not overly thick.

So, is Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara a great match for my eyelashes? Continue reading

I am in a crazy blue-shadow phase right now. It’s currently my go-to shade whenever I want to feel hot. Whether it’s dark or light, shimmery or matte, cream or powder, I can’t seem to stay away. I’m glad I found my happy shade – every girl deserves one! 🙂 Do you have a color that makes you feel beautiful?

One of my current favorite hues to wear is Everyday Minerals Free Wheelin’ Denim Eye Shadow. The blue really does look like the color of your beloved jeans! But while j’adore this color, I’m not really into the product as a whole… Continue reading

Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner Review & Swatches

Not so long ago, I thought purple and I were destined to be together. But recently I’ve discovered the true color for me is blue. I’ve noticed the days I feel the most confident about my appearance are always whenever I’m wearing blue eyeshadows. They complement my eye color so very well. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has her own confidence-building color! Right?

Anyway! I haven’t forgotten about my purples. Well, I literally can’t forget about them…seeing as I have drawers full of them. Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner is one in my vast collection. It’s a nice color, I think, but it doesn’t bring out my eyes the way I thought it would. 🙁 Continue reading

Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush HoneymoonPretty packaging makes me swoon like a hopeless romantic in some 60s flick. And if I can buy something real purty without making my piggy bank squeal, then I’m game, Mr. Monopoly!

Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush Honeymoon came into my makeup life because it was a looker. Plus when I saw the price tag, it was a no-brainer! It was coming home with me fo’ sho’.

I rarely shop at Wal-Mart (which is where I snatched up this beauty). Was actually just in there to buy my Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer. But boy am I ever glad that I noticed this Hard Candy Blush in Honeymoon!

It’s simple, affordable, and pretty. This has earned a spot in my makeup rotation. Continue reading
