e.l.f. Essentials Foundation Brush Review (e.l.f. Professional Foundation Brush)

I find it slightly hard to review many of the e.l.f. brushes, and the e.l.f. Essentials Foundation Brush is no exception. Reason? Well, this brush is of decent quality.

Here lies the issue: For a $1, I think the (formerly named) e.l.f. Essential Foundation Brush is a good buy. The price of elf brushes seems to always be the qualifier. It is good…for the price. But if you’re willing to spend just a bit more, you’ll definitely be able to find a foundation brush of better quality and can give you better results. Continue reading

Taking a trip across the city or across the ocean is no reason to abandon how you put on your makeup. That’s why the Sigma Travel Kit Nice in Pink is a convenient essential. You get Sigma quality in the 7 included brushes, all wrapped up in a travel sized kit! Heck, I’ve even carried it with me to work on days when I’m going out at night. And why not?

It comes with a protective clutch-like pouch that measures approx. 7.5” in length with magnetic closure, so it’s easy to just pop into my purse. Plus, there’s a zippered pocket big enough for a couple more brushes, eyeshadow pans, lipgloss or whatever I need with me. Continue reading

Call me Goldilocks if you want, but I think the Sigma Foundation F60 Brush is juuuuuuuuuuuust right. The size, the shape, the density, the stiffness – I think Sigma Makeup hits it out of the park with this one.

It delivers medium coverage, so you don’t have to apply as many sheer layers as you typically would with a dome-shaped kabuki. And the bristles are so soft and gentle on your face.

Totally love this flat-top brush, and I’m going to tell you why! Continue reading

e.l.f. Essentials Concealer Brush Review (e.l.f. Professional Concealer Brush)

My first impression of the e.l.f. Essentials Concealer Brush (formerly the e.l.f. Professional Concealer Brush) is that it’s very, very tiny. The brush head measures about 1/4” lengthwise and just over 1/8” widthwise. I definitely had my doubts as to how effective it is.

Overall, I think it’s an OK brush. But I wouldn’t spend the money on it again, even the $1. Let me tell you why.   Continue reading

The Brush Guard Review & Pictures

The Brush GuardBrushes are wonderful for applying your makeup, but you have to remember to clean them often so they don’t breed nasty bacteria that can make you break out or contaminate your cosmetics.

I spot clean and deep clean my brushes religiously for that reason, but also to keep them in good condition. After all, I invested quite a bit for my brushes, so I want them to last as long as possible.

I’ve tried The Brush Guard to help dry and shape my brushes, and I’m quite pleased with the results. It has a simple design, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and does its job wonderfully. Why hasn’t someone thought of this sooner?

Come see photos of what it looks like, and read my review on how it works and why you should use it. Continue reading
