I Met Shaun Pulfrey, the Tangle Teezer Inventor (Plus Info on NEW Brushes!)

Shaun Pulfrey Tangle Teezer

Recently, I was invited to attend an exclusive event unveiling the new Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Hairbrush and Tangle Teezer Thick & Curly Detangling Hairbrush, which will be available at Sephora!

That in itself was exciting, but what put the cherry on top of my drool-inducing sundae was that Shaun Pulfrey, the man who invented the Tangle Teezer, was at the event! (When I received the invitation, I had to read that part several times to make sure that my myopic eyes weren’t deceiving me.)

Not only did I get to see Shaun Pulfrey, but I had the pleasure of watching him do a live demonstration showing the Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Hairbrush in action. He also gave more detailed information about the entire Tangle Teezer line. Then, after the presentation, I swooped over to speak with him, snagged a photo op, and thanked him for inventing the brush that changed my hair life!

It’s not often that I get to shake the hand of a person who touched my life in some way, so this was a big deal to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

I’m really happy to tell you that Shaun Pulfrey is a genuinely nice guy!

Sometimes when people achieve success or fame, it goes to their head, and they become snobbish, but that wasn’t the case with Shaun. My impression of him throughout the night is that he truly puts his passion and heart into his company and hair innovations. He radiated energy, and his animated spirit was infectious.

His mission, although not stated implicitly, seems to be that he wants to make hairstyling easier, faster, and more respectful of the hair’s condition. This is what I pieced together.

By the way, Shaun’s story is one that inspires me because he believed in himself and his invention, even when others initially didn’t.

I read an article about how he approached Dragons’ Den and asked them to invest in his brush. They turned him away, but he continued to pursue his dream, and now not only is he successful, but he has created a unique solution to a very real problem. (Check out this article, if you want all the details and if you want to be inspired.)

beautyblender blendercleanser Solid Review & Pictures

BeautyBlender BlenderCleanser Solid Review & PicturesYou may remember me writing in a previous review that I wasn’t able to get all the makeup out of the beautyblender makeup sponge when using the liquid beautyblender blendercleanser.

After I used up my little bottle of the liquid cleanser, it was good timing because I saw that Sephora started selling the beautyblender blendercleanser Solid.

So I gave it a go, and here were my results after about a month of using it daily!

beautyblender Review & Pictures (Plus blendercleanser Review & Pictures!)

Beauty Blender Review Beauty Blender Cleanser ReviewLast year when I attended IMATS, I found a good deal on a beautyblender set that included both the beautyblender and the blendercleanser for $30 CAD flat (no tax).

Normally, the beautyblender alone costs $26 CAD plus tax, so I gave into the temptation and bought it. (This was waaay before I heard about inexpensive dupes of this makeup sponge.)

Lots of makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts recommend the beautyblender, and it has won Allure’s Best of Beauty Award around 5 times!

I had been curious to try it for a long time with liquid foundation, even though you can use it with blush, bronzer, and pressed powder.

For powdered products, I like using a brush, so for this review, I just tested it on liquids like foundations, concealers, and BB creams.

So, did it live up to the hype for me?

Bundle Monster Holiday Collection Nail Stamping Image Plates 2013 Review & PicturesNail stamping is a fast and fun way to give yourself a unique manicure at home.

Haul of Shame: Brand New 2012 Bundle Monster 25-Piece Set

New 2012 Bundle Monster 25 Piece Image Plate Set Review & PicturesNot long ago, I found out that there was a new 2012 Bundle Monster 25-Piece Set, which just dropped!

Well, you can bet your acetone that I leapt onto my computer to place an order.

Stamping image plates are the easy (and fast) way to do amazing nail art. Even if you don’t think you have an artistic bone in your body, trust me – try stamping image plates, and you’ll become a Polish Picasso in no time.

I placed my order on June 19 and received them on June 28. That’s not too bad considering that they were going from Hawaii to Canada. (Heck, if I was in Hawaii, I might just stay there and enjoy the weather and the scenery.) 😉

In this post, I’ll share photos of each plate so you can see all the unique designs offered. Hopefully it better helps you decide whether or not you ‘need’ this set.

Hehe, the second I saw the owl designs, it instantly became a must-have. 😉

Sedu Revolution Pro 4000i Dryer 1875 Watts Pink Edition Review & Pictures

Sedu Revolution Pro 4000i Dryer 1875 Watts Pink Edition Review & PicturesSedu is a haircare brand that I’ve come to trust. Several years ago, I tried their flat iron, and it literally changed my life!

My hair is naturally wavy/curly, so it gets frizzy and gross unless I put styling products like mousse in it. But I was tired of doing all that – for years I wore it like that. I wanted to wear it straight. Although I had tried a CHI flat iron, the Sedu kicked its behind!

Then I invested in a professional Sedu hairdryer and was really happy with it. But then one day, I put it on the bathroom counter, it slipped, and then fell onto the tile floor! The mechanism broke because it was quite a fall.

I had been happy with that hairdryer, so I was really bummed when the same model wasn’t sold anymore. (I had used that hairdryer daily for about 5 years, and if I was more careful, it could’ve lasted even longer.)

So, I searched Folica’s website for a replacement Sedu hairdryer. I chose the compact Sedu Revolution Pro 4000i Dryer 1875 Watts Pink Edition.

Is it as good as my previous Sedu hairdryer? Let me tell you what I think.

Nail Art: Black & Blue Konadicure Using Essie Lapis of Luxury & Konad Image Plate m78

Black & Blue Konadicure Using Konad Image Plate m78 PicturesI was craving a funky manicure, but I didn’t have time to spend on freehand nail art. For times like these, nail stamping comes to the rescue like a caped, lacquered crusader. 😉

To create this Black & Blue Konadicure, I used Essie Lapis of Luxury, which I’ve been dying to try and the trippy full-nail pattern on Konad Image Plate m78.

As you can see, I was in quite a hurry, so the stamping is a bit fuzzy, but in real life (when your nails aren’t blown up to such a large size), the imperfections didn’t show as much.

There are tons of people who are so much better at nail stamping than I am, but the finished look was exactly what I was going for, flaws and all. 🙂
