Happy Thanksgiving to My American Readers!

This is a quick post to wish my American readers a very Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂 I hope that you have a wonderful time with your loved ones.

Being a Canadian, I celebrated my Thanksgiving in October. 🙂 Lots of delicious turkey and other food.

Thought it would be appropriate to post a very old photo of nail art I did back in 2011.

It’s Chicken Drumstick Nail Art, but they could pass for Turkey Drumstick Nail Art, too! 😉 (Click on the link or the photo below to see the step-by-step tutorial. It’s fun to paint and to wear!)

Nail Art Tutorial: Snowman Nails

Snowman Nail Art TutorialIt feels like I haven’t worn faces or eyes on my nails in a long time.

(Taken out of context, that might make some people scratch their heads.)

Although my schedule after work has somehow gotten busier than ever before, I want to make time to do more freehand designs, especially festive ones leading up to Christmas.

Today, I’m showing you easy Snowman Nail Art that only requires a base coat, a top coat, five colours, a dotting tool, and a striping brush.

The nail polishes I used to create the snowman nail art are The Body Shop Colour Crush in Minty Amour, OPI Queen of the Road, OPI Angel with a Leadfoot, OPI Juice Bar Hopping, and OPI This Gown Needs a Crown!

I love sharing these kind of simple designs because it might encourage someone to try their hand at nail art, even if they’ve never done so before. There are a lot of overly complicated designs out there that, while nice to look at, can be intimidating to beginners.

It’s my goal to make nail art that’s easy to replicate because I believe that everyone should enjoy the fun and creativity that it has to offer. I don’t want anyone to feel excluded!

To do this design, you don’t need masterclass skills, but you will need patience. Also, remember that happiness is your goal, not perfection, and you’ll always be a winner. 😉

P.S. Read the bottom of this post for a short story from my childhood about how I once got in trouble for building a snowwoman.

Nail Art: Green Dotticure (OPI My Gecko Does Tricks & OPI That’s Hula-rious!)

OPI My Gecko Does Tricks & OPI OPI That's Hula-rious SwatchGreen and I are tight. We go everywhere together. We watch each other’s back. We are in mad love.

So when I saw that the OPI Hawaii Collection had not one, but two green nail polishes, my heart palpitated a little. Scratch that. It started crunking – that’s how happy it was! 😉

Since I couldn’t choose just one for a manicure, I decided to do an easy Green Dotticure featuring OPI My Gecko Does Tricks and OPI That’s Hula-rious!, which are both from the OPI Hawaii Collection for Spring/Summer 2015. (Click here to see my OPI Hawaii Collection Media Launch Recap post!)

This is such a simple nail design that I whipped up very quickly, and it’s what I wore to the Contessa 2014 Awards.

If your schedule is as busy as mine is and you’re trying to juggle a million things at once, this nail art is for you. It’s fuss-free, and all it consists of are dots arranged in two vertical lines. Easy, effective, and simple to replicate! 🙂

Blog News: My Funky French Nail Art Tutorial on PromCanada.com

Funky French Nail Art Tutorial SwatchAndLearn PromCanadaIt’s amazing how powerful nail polish is!

Even if you spent a long, crappy day dealing with lazy individuals who seem to make slugs stuck in molasses look as fast as Usain Bolt, the physical act of painting your nails is relaxing.

And even if the nail design is simple or there are imperfections, the wonderful thing is that you feel happy instantly. It’s like colour therapy plus beauty, all rolled into a convenient package!

Give yourself some “me” time, as you relax and paint your nails. You may be surprised at how therapeutic it can be.

I’m very honoured to have had the opportunity to once again showcase a nail-art tutorial on PromCanada.com.

This time, I painted a very simple look featuring just two contrasting colours, Nicole by OPI Oh That’s Just Grape! and Nicole by OPI Teal Me Something New.

It’s ideal for those who don’t want to spend a lot of time doing their nails, but still want something fun and easily customizable.

Go to Prom Canada’s website to see the original article, or keep reading the rest of this post to see my step-by-step tutorial with photos and written instructions.

Quick Look: Bundle Monster Sun Kissed Collection

Bundle Monster Sun Kissed Collection Review & PicturesGuess what just arrived in my mailbox when I got home from work last night? The brand new Bundle Monster Sun Kissed Collection, which I shared the press release about on here recently.

So I picked up my camera and got snappin’ because I’m sure that a lot of fellow nailphiles would love to see the cool designs on the 10 stainless-steel nail-stamping plates!

In this post, you’ll see each Bundle Monster plate in detail, as well as some commentary on each plate.

Stay tuned for a future post when I share my swatches of the manicures I come up with!

(Side Note: You may have noticed that this week, there have been fewer blog posts than usual. Things are always hectic on my end, but this week was particularly crazzzyyy town. I hope to get back into my usual 5-per-week posting schedule. I’ll do my best!) 🙂

Bundle Monster Cabochons Swatches & Review

Bundle Monster Cabochons Nails Nail Art ReviewSome days, I have an itch to rock dramatic nails that are as over-the-top as Lady Gaga.

The friendly ‘monsters’ over at Bundle Monster sent me two blingy cabochons to try, and let me tell you, if you’re looking for nails that will set yourself apart from the sea of generic manicures, cabochons definitely do the trick!

The Bundle Monster Cabochons are the very first nail cabochons that I’ve ever sported, and I have to say, they’re pretty badass! 😉

I felt totally edgy when I wore the cabochons over the jet black, OPI Who Are You Calling Bossy?!? from the Peanuts Collection, and I think they offer an interesting 3D effect that you just can’t get with other nail art. Plus the ease of cabochons are wonderful – just put a dab of top coat or nail glue to act as an adhesive, and you’re golden.

Sure, these are not typical for me to wear on a day-to-day basis. I see them as something for a special occasion. They’re such a far departure from everything else that I’ve tried, so I was curious to jump into this lake and swim around a bit.

(Please note that I had cut my nails pretty short, and my fingers and nails are narrow. On someone with average-sized fingers, the cabochons won’t look as big.)
