Quick Look: Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection

Nicole by OPI Roughles CollectionThe next little while, I’m going to be incredibly busy as I’m moving verrrry soon – it’s right around the corner! (It’s a very exciting, but stressful time, too. I bought my first home!)

But I didn’t want to take a hiatus from blogging during this time because I love doing this.

Readers like you are really important to me, so I’m going to try my best to keep my Monday-to-Friday blogging schedule for as long as I can before I move. It’s going to be quite a juggling act, though, as I have a full-time job, and I also do freelance jobs. I don’t know how things are going to pan out, but you can be sure that I’ll try my best to minimize any blogging gaps. (Please bare with me if it takes me longer than usual to reply to comments left on my blog and social media.)

For this reason, due to time constraints, I’ve decided to put together some Quick Look posts, since a lot of you seem to like them. (Haha, you’ll see from the upcoming posts that I have a lot of new polishes!) Also, I have some photos from manicures I wore before, but never reviewed on here. So I’m going to pull them out.

In today’s post, I have for you the Nicole by OPI Roughles Collection, which features texture nail polishes that are fun, Easter-y, textured, and speckled. In addition to bottle shots, you’ll also see some quick swatches! Enjoy! (Please stay tuned in the future for my in-depth reviews and swatches.)

OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana Swatches & Review

OPI I Just Can't Cope-acabana Swatches & ReviewOPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana is from the Brazil Collection, and it’s the most pigmented yellow nail polish I’ve ever worn!

I was very surprised because, going into the painting process, I was expecting to need to use 4 coats. (A lot of yellows I’ve tried in the past need multiple coats to get decent coverage.)

OPI I Just Can’t Cope-acabana only needed 2 medium coats to get the coverage you see in this photo and the other ones in this post! Zero streakiness at this point. Colour me impressed!

P.S. Today is the LAST DAY to enter my OPI Brazil Collection giveaway for Canadians! Be sure to get your entry in by 11:59 pm EST!

OPI Let’s Do Anything We Want! Swatches & Review (Layered Over OPI I Love Applause)

OPI Let's Do Anything We Want Swatches & ReviewA couple of days ago, I shared with you my review on OPI I Love Applause, which is a pale pink from the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection.

Although I enjoyed wearing the soft shade solo, I was way too tempted by OPI Let’s Do Anything We Want!, which is from the same collection.

So, what did I decide to do? Anything I wanted! (Haha, I couldn’t resist.)

I layered just a single coat of glitter over the pink base, and I think they played well together. Rather than a contrasting look like what I showed you yesterday using Rainbow Honey XOXO over Zoya Song, these two OPI nail polishes are more similar and complement each other in a softer way.

What do you like more? Contrasting or complementing glitter combinations? (I like both, and it usually depends on my mood when it comes to which one I choose to wear.)

P.S. Remember, Canadians, you still have until February 28 at 11:59 pm EST to enter my OPI Brazil Collection giveaway!

P.P.S. By the way, thank you so much for voting for me in the Nicole by OPI nail-art challenge that I blogged about before. Your support meant so much to me, and I’m already planning a way to give back to my loyal readers again. Stay tuned! 😉 You won’t want to miss it! (Although I didn’t win the contest, my readers made me feel like a winner, which is the real prize – THANK YOU!)

Rainbow Honey XOXO Swatches & Review (Layered Over Zoya Song)

Rainbow Honey XOXO Swatches & ReviewRed and blue is one of my favourite nail-colour combinations because there’s so much contrast, and it always reminds me of Wonder Woman.

(Haha, when I wear this combination, I think to myself, “I am Wonder Woman!” It’s funny how nail polish can do that to me.)

So when I was looking in my Helmer for what to pair with Rainbow Honey XOXO from the Sweet Talk Collection, my eyes darted from drawer to drawer, seeking out a strong blue. (I ended up choosing Zoya Song.)

You could layer this over so many different shades, but I was in the mood for something in-your-face, and this combination certainly fits the bill.

OPI I Love Applause Swatches & Review

OPI I Love Applause Swatches & ReviewGuess what? Today’s post is on OPI I Love Applause, which is from the OPI Muppets Most Wanted Collection!

I’m really excited to bring you this review because, if you’ve been following me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, you saw over the last few days, I’ve been posting a few sneak-peek photos!

This type of soft shade is very uncharacteristic for me to sport. (You know that I tend to go for the loud ones the most.) However, I’m beginning to appreciate the subtle elegance of these kind of colours on myself as time goes on.

The colour shown in my flash photos actually show the pink best, however, the natural photos help you see the finish a little better.

P.S. You still have until the end of today to vote for me in the nail-art competition I entered. You can tweet and/or retweet the fishtail-braid photo with hashtags #NicoleChallenge and #Mary4Nicole. Please see the full details in the post I published a little while ago about this. As I’m coming to the homestretch, I’d really appreciate your support! Nicole by OPI Canada will announce the winner tomorrow at 5 pm EST.

P.P.S. This is also a friendly reminder that my OPI Brazil Collection Canadian giveaway is still going on (get your entries in!) until February 28 at 11:59 pm EST.

China Glaze Shell We Dance Swatches & Review

China Glaze Shell We Dance Swatches & ReviewTextured nail-polish lovers, you’ll want to perk up your ears (or fingertips)! 😉

Today, I have for you an in-depth review of China Glaze Shell We Dance, which is from the Sea Goddess Collection that I highly anticipated.

As you know, although I have a soft spot for greens, I’m warming up to pinks in a big way.

Combine texture with saturated pigmentation and lots of sparkle, and you can count me in for the polish party!
