OPI Polka.com Swatches & Review (Layered Over Essie Mint Candy Apple)

OPI Polka.com Swatches & ReviewSince I first laid eyes on OPI Polka.com in the OPI Euro Centrale Collection press release, I knew that it had to be mine!

A glitter polish like this is really fun to layer with, and because there’s a transparent base, it means you can put it over virtually anything.

I was already wearing Essie Mint Candy Apple, so I decided to try it over that.

Unfortunately, my photos don’t show how sparklicious this manicure is. The vibrancy of the glitter also didn’t seem to translate in my photos. But, if you have these two polishes, trust me, the combination is like a glittery Easter egg! You’ll love it way more in person!

China Glaze Hologlam Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

China Glaze Hologlam Collection Press Release & Promo PicturesI know that a lot of you have been highly anticipating this collection.

Well, China Glaze sent me the official China Glaze Hologlam Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures, so now I can share them with you!

I’m really excited to try these and to see how they compare with the holographic nail polishes that China Glaze has put out in the past.

Out of the 12 shades, I’m naturally drawn to When Stars Collide, OMG A UFO, Don’t Be A Luna-Tic, Take A Trek, Strap On Your Moonboots, and Galactic Gray.

What about you? Which ones are you interested in the most?

Essie Mint Candy Apple Swatches & Review

Essie Mint Candy Apple Swatches & ReviewEssie Mint Candy Apple was one of the minty green nail polishes that I recently compared in another post.

Today, I’d like to show it in further detail. It’s quite a popular shade, especially in the spring and summer.

And, surprisingly, it doesn’t give me a bad case of Lobster Hands, so it’s a mint green I can actually wear! (Hurrrrraaaayyy!)

Shades like this are really fresh-looking and make your nails look so clean and crisp.

Have you ever eaten a candy apple before? I haven’t!

When I was little, my parents refused to buy me candy apples at carnivals because they said it was bad for my teeth with all that sugar. (No, they weren’t dentists…hehe! And oddly enough, they bought me cotton candy without blinking an eye. Sometimes trying to figure parents out can make your mind spin its wheels!) 😉

Illamasqua Speckled Nail Polishes & New Blush Up Brush Press Release & Promo Pictures

Illamaqua Speckled Nail PolishHave you seen the new limited-edition Illamasqua Speckled Nail Varnish? I’m really excited about it because it reminds me of Easter eggs.

How fun! Instead of having to layer with a glitter, you can get the look right from the bottle!

In this post, I have some official images of the 4 different speckled nail-polish shades as well as information and photos on Illamasqua’s revolutionary Blush Up Brush.

Unlike regular round, fluffy blush brushes, this one’s really cool. It’s flat and long. It was designed to fit perfectly in the hollow of the cheeks. This brush really intrigues me because I don’t have anything like it.

Smorgasbord Sundays: A Rough Weekend for Me

CloudsThis weekend has been rough for me because yesterday marked the third year since my father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, not long after my birthday.

My mother is a practising Catholic, so she set up a mass at the local church to be dedicated to my dad. I went, but my brother and sister-in-law didn’t go.

To me, it’s weird to have memorials. I like to celebrate life, not remember the day my dad passed away. So, although it may sound really weird, when my dad’s birthday rolls around, I visit him at the cemetery and wish him a happy birthday. March 2 (the day he passed away) is a day that I’d rather not commemorate.

Haul of Shame: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipsticks

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Shocking Coral, Fuchsia Flash, Brazen Berry, Vivid Rose, Hot PlumIf you follow me on Instagram, you already knew that weeks ago, I got my paws on a bunch of the new Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids!

It dawned on me that I never did a Haul of Shame post on here to give you a closer look at them. Plus after that Instagram photo, one of my readers (Frosso) helped me track down Brazen Berry, the purple shade that doesn’t seem to be available in Canada.

The first one I tried was Shocking Coral. I hope to review that one on here soon!
