Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer Review & Pictures

Originally I wasn’t going to review Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer because I had already given a break-down of the SPF15 version. But… I couldn’t resist. This product evokes such strong emotions in me!

I’m just going to cut to the chase: this product SUCKS more than Twilight vampires do. And I seriously mean it S-U-C-K-S. I wasted my money, my hope and my time with this.

I didn’t like the SPF15 version that much, but in comparison to this, it’s so much better. But that’s for daytime. I got the non-SPF version because I wanted to use it at night. The lady at the store told me that Kiehl’s uses natural ingredients, so I was excited to try it even if it meant shelling out more dough than my wallet was willing to part with. Hey, if it’s a good skincare product, I think it’s worth the price! Unfortunately, it’s so not!

I so regret getting this. Come see why.

e.l.f. Passionate Purple Pigment Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Ever since I gave in and purchased my first elf Cosmetics product, I’ve been on a mission. This line is so affordable that it has me in jaw-dropped disbelief, and I want to find out how much product quality is sacrificed for a low price tag.

A lot of the products are quite hit and miss, brushes especially. I’m in love with most of their nail polishes, and some of their mineral eyeshadows have my approval and some with disapproval. This is the first time I’ve tried their pigmented shadows. And since there weren’t a lot of colors to choose from, I went with a trusty purple.

Is e.l.f. Passionate Purple Pigment Eyeshadow a hit or a miss? Find out! Continue reading

The Body Shop Born Lippy Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm Review & Pictures

Shopping is my chosen form of therapy. And every few months, the Object of My Obsession changes. Cookbooks, watches, shoes, jewelry – whatever I’m obsessed with at the moment, I want to buy, buy, buy. My wallet and I are currently on the outs because of it.

My most-recent OoMO is lip products. Big surprise for me, seeing as previously the only thing I put on my lips is Chapstick. Now I need my lip balm or gloss, ‘cuz my lip gloss be cool; my lip gloss be poppin’! (So ashamed I know that song.)

Today, I’ll be reviewing The Body Shop Born Lippy Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm. I previously reviewed the Pink Guava one, and surprisingly, it’s more than just the scent that’s different. Continue reading

Revlon Midnight Affair Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Well, surprise, surprise. I’m reviewing another beauty product that’s blue. I think it’s kind of safe to say that I’m having a love affair with this color. Sorry, Purple. Sorry, Green. You have been replaced! At least for now.

When I saw Revlon Midnight Affair, I couldn’t stop staring at it. The lighting at the drugstore was just right – it added this twinkle to the deep royal blue. It was love at first sight! But alas, it’s not a fairytale.

You know how you should never trust the lighting at the club or a bar? That cute someone is never cute when you see them during the day. That’s how I feel with this nail polish! When I got it home and applied it, I realized I was tricked by the lights. Don’t get me wrong: it’s a nice color… just not as nice as I’d thought. Continue reading

Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara Review, Swatches & the Colossal Comparison

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

Every woman and man should focus on the things that they love about themselves. Forget the bad, and concentrate on the good. I’m not just talking about appearance. I’ve been feeling down lately because I waste a lot of energy on the negative things. May is going to be the month that I attempt optimism. I hope you’ll join me!

Reason why I begin this review with this is: I’ve always disliked my eyelashes. But instead of telling you why I don’t like them, I’ll tell you what I like. 🙂 They’re not bushy, so they’re easy to manage. They’re easy to curl because they’re not overly thick.

So, is Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara a great match for my eyelashes? Continue reading

I am in a crazy blue-shadow phase right now. It’s currently my go-to shade whenever I want to feel hot. Whether it’s dark or light, shimmery or matte, cream or powder, I can’t seem to stay away. I’m glad I found my happy shade – every girl deserves one! 🙂 Do you have a color that makes you feel beautiful?

One of my current favorite hues to wear is Everyday Minerals Free Wheelin’ Denim Eye Shadow. The blue really does look like the color of your beloved jeans! But while j’adore this color, I’m not really into the product as a whole… Continue reading

L.A. Girl Metal Deep Sea Mica Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I got L.A. Girl Metal Deep Sea Mica during one of my Cherry Culture hauls. My shopping bag was already brimming with goodies (this was right after I gotz paid), but I decided to shop around some more. Not a very smart choice. I think I ended up with about 50% more stuff in my shopping bag because of that decision.

Deep Sea Mica was one of those last-minute buys that I’m glad I made. I love this color. I don’t think it should be in the L.A. Girl Metal Collection though, seeing as there’s nothing metallic about the color. But I don’t care! I don’t care! I don’t care! I love this beautiful shade! Esp. since I don’t already have a color like this in my collection. Continue reading
