What’s life without versatility! While I love glossiness on my nails, there’s something about a matte finish that’s just so subtly sexy.

Instead of going and purchasing every nail color in matte, I got the Nubar for Men Matte Finish Nail Protector instead to give my nail polish collection a second personality. I think of it as my little magic potion that provides nail colors with a different vibe. Continue reading

Taking a trip across the city or across the ocean is no reason to abandon how you put on your makeup. That’s why the Sigma Travel Kit Nice in Pink is a convenient essential. You get Sigma quality in the 7 included brushes, all wrapped up in a travel sized kit! Heck, I’ve even carried it with me to work on days when I’m going out at night. And why not?

It comes with a protective clutch-like pouch that measures approx. 7.5” in length with magnetic closure, so it’s easy to just pop into my purse. Plus, there’s a zippered pocket big enough for a couple more brushes, eyeshadow pans, lipgloss or whatever I need with me. Continue reading

Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Soothing Toner Review

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I don’t believe that everyone needs a skin toner. It really all depends on how your skin responds to your cleaner. But if you feel you need one, then allow me to recommend the Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Soothing Toner!

Previously I used the Vichy Purete Thermale Hydra-Perfecting Toner (it’s blue, and it‘s for normal to combination and sensitive skin), but I finished the bottle before I got a chance to review it. Then I saw that Vichy has one specifically for dry, sensitive skin – so I got that instead. I can’t tell a huge difference between the two though. My skin doesn’t feel taut or parched after using either. Continue reading

Jergens Naturals Ultra Hydrating Daily Moisturizer Review

The skin on your body is just as important as the skin on your face. So make sure your body takes advantage of nighttime rejuvenation by applying a moisturizer!

The product I recommend is the Jergens Naturals Ultra Hydrating Daily Moisturizer. The packaging says it “doubles skin hydration instantly.” Well, I don’t know if it increases your skin’s moisture by 100%, but I will say it does a darn good job as a moisturizer.

It’s not just for bedtime, either. Apply some right after you get out of the shower (when your skin is still damp) to lock in the moisture for super-smooth skin! Continue reading

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

The L’Oreal HiP Concentrated Shadow Duo in Wicked is my third product from the HiP collection. I’ve previously tried the Metallic and Bright Duos, neither of which quite blew me out of the water.

I went with Wicked because I have such a soft spot for purples. And I just had to have this vibrant purple that looks like an amethyst gem! So…my thoughts on this L’Oreal HiP shadow? Continue reading
