In a previous post, I pledged to pay more attention to taking care of my lips. I solemnly swear not to let them crack or dry up again, to always protect them from the harsh cold and burning heat, to… Well, you get the picture.

I’ve been purchasing many lip care and treatments lately. So many products, only 1 set of lips! Today, I’ll be reviewing The Body Shop Born Lippy Pink Guava Lip Balm. And let me tell ya: it smells sooo delicious. But I have a feeling it’s one of those scents that you either absolutely hate or love. Continue reading

e.l.f. Essentials Medium Red Nail Polish Review & Swatches

Every gal and guy should have a little red in her/his life – it’s the color of passion and fun! And that’s just exactly what the color of e.l.f. Essentials Medium Red Nail Polish is. This red can go from girl-who-just-wants-to-have-fun look to a woman-out-to-dominate-the-world shade. It all depends on what you wear it with.

It’s funny how a little color on your nails can pick you up. I’ve been a Debbie Downer, Party Pooper and Moody Molly lately, and as soon as I sweep on a catch-my-eye nail color, it seems to bring a smile to my face. It’s no longer-term therapy, but it’s an instant smile aggregator that lasts a little bit. Continue reading

NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin Tone Review & Pictures

I gotta tell ya: I didn’t have high hopes for NYX Eyeshadow Base Skin Tone. The White one made it to my Baddies List, but I’m actually liking this one. I’m not stunned-wowwed-omg’d by it, but it does make my Goodies List.

Just keep in mind that this is a base and not a primer. If you’re looking for a product to keep the creasing from sneaking up on you at the end of the day, this won’t do it! But if you want extra security for your shadows, give this a try. Continue reading

Everyday Naturals Deep Kissing Buff & Shine Lip Polish Review & Pictures

I’m so ashamed. Sometimes my lips get so chapped that I’m embarrassed to face someone when I talk to them. My lips are more neglected by me than a middle child by a parent! Dear Lips, I’m making a promise to be good to you from now on, so please don’t flake on me anymore.

I came across Everyday Naturals Deep Kissing Buff & Shine Lip Polish when I was shopping for their eyeshadows. (I need to stop browsing entire websites when I’m shopping for something specific.) It was between this and the Sumptuous Lip Polish, but when I saw the word “chocolate,” I zombie-pressed the Add To Bag button. Continue reading

NYX Fabulous Lashes 116 Review & Pictures

No matter how self-conscious one is, there’s always a feature that’s a favorite. With me, my eyes are my favorite facial feature. Even still, I’ve always wanted longer, thicker eyelashes. I’m not about to drop $300 for lash extensions that take hours to do. So my next best solution is false eyelashes.

I have a few pairs by different brands – both full strips and individual ones. This review is on NYX Fabulous Lashes 116, which are full strips. They’re quite natural-looking, but if you’re not used to fake lashes, they definitely take some getting used to! Continue reading

What a gem! This nail polish has everything going for it: color, formula, application, etc. etc. You really can’t go wrong. And the price is superbatastically awesome. I couldn’t ask for more from this polish. Come see all the details. Continue reading

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight Review & Pictures

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

It seems like Mary and I are constantly playing a game of temptation. We always encourage each other to buy new products as they freshly hit the makeup shelves. The conversation goes something like this:

“Did you hear about this and that coming out?”
“No.”
“You should get it! It’d look so great on you!”
“Stop tempting me to spend more $$!”
(Repeat lines 3 & 4 for several days.)

Case in point: When Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight came out, Mary kindly informed me since she knows I love the original TF eye primer. For a while I avoided getting it because I already have two tubes of the Original. And then I gave into temptation. Sigh! I have no will power. Am I glad that I gave in? Continue reading
