Invite your nails to the party, and RSVP to Pretty Serious Daphne’s Disco Party!
Like a bubblegum cheerleader who’s as perky as she is charismatic, this bright and girly glitter nail polish is incredibly fun.
Since the base is translucent pink, when I wore this weeks ago, I decided to layer it over my existing manicure, which was OPI Be There in a Prosecco, a creamy beige from the Venice Collection.
You can also layer it over pink to make the base pop more or something dark like navy to highlight the glitter. Very versatile!

Pretty Serious Daphne’s Disco Party Review
Colour
When I first saw all of the bright glitter in the bottle, I knew that I was going to love Daphne’s Disco Party by Pretty Serious because it’s like a shot of happiness for your nails!
There are large hexagonal glitter in yellow, fuchsia, and light pink. Then, there are small pink iridescent glass flecks that add a touch of fairy dust.
Some of the pink glitter looks peach, and I think it’s because the pink translucent base coats the glitter. That, combined with the angle and the way each piece of glitter reflects and catches the light also makes it look like different tones.
Finish
There’s a lot of glitter mixed in, yet when you put on a top coat, everything gets smoothed out, so you won’t have to worry about gritty texture.
Application & Formula
You might think that a polish with so much glitter would require using a dabbing technique, but nope – I used regular painting strokes, and with two coats, I got the even coverage and density of glitter that I wanted.
It’s smooth and easy to work with, plus the translucent base coats the glitter, so the overall polish applies very smoothly.
Daphne’s Disco Party by Pretty Serious is best used as a layering polish, so I wouldn’t recommend building up multiple layers to achieve opacity.
Also, because the base colour is tinted, that means you have to be careful about which colour you layer it over. It could transform it.
I recommend using this over dark shades (black, navy, etc.), pink, purple, peach, and white/beige. Try to avoid colours like yellow because the pink tint may turn it orange, unless of course you want that.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
Sometimes I’m in the mood for a vampy shade, but when I want a pick-me-up, I prefer to sport something playful and punchy. Pretty Serious Daphne’s Disco Party fits the bill, and I love how it can look different if you layer it over a dark shade, as opposed to a light shade like I did here.
Are you still sporting bright shades, even though we’re approaching autumn? What nail polish do you associate with parties? Did you know that the Bee Gees’ song, “Stayin’ Alive” was at one early point going to be named “Buried Alive”?
This is such a fun color. I bet it would look great over black. Thanks for sharing with us!
Hey Melissa!
Yes – definitely would pop like a firecracker over black! 😀
