Not so long ago, I thought purple and I were destined to be together. But recently I’ve discovered the true color for me is blue. I’ve noticed the days I feel the most confident about my appearance are always whenever I’m wearing blue eyeshadows. They complement my eye color so very well. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has her own confidence-building color! Right?
Anyway! I haven’t forgotten about my purples. Well, I literally can’t forget about them…seeing as I have drawers full of them. Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner is one in my vast collection. It’s a nice color, I think, but it doesn’t bring out my eyes the way I thought it would. 🙁

Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Shadow Review
Color
Well, with a name like Purple Snap, you’d really expect the color to be snappy with flair. It’s not. Don’t get me wrong: it’s pretty. It just doesn’t have the pizzazz that I thought it would.
Benefit Purple Snap Creaseless Shadow is a plum purple with a shimmery finish that’s not very apparent. Kind of boring and seen-that, I think. I actually might have this color in a baked powder form somewhere, and it cost way less.
I apologize. The pictures are showing more grape purple than plum! Args.
Application
Since I’ve tried Benefit Tidal Rave Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner before, I wasn’t expecting much when it comes to the application of Purple Snap. I suggest using your finger instead of a brush as it’ll pick up the product easier. If you choose to use a brush, go with one that’s stiffer. One that’s fluffy won’t grab the cream shadow well.
The first layer of Benefit Purple Snap doesn’t go on evenly, a little blotchy. But wait about 10 seconds and apply another layer. This will even out the application as well as give you better color.
Consistency
I normally use brushes to apply shadows, so I rarely touch them with my finger. But with Purple Snap Creaseless Shadow by Benefit, I was able to actually feel the consistency with my finger. It’s a nice and soft formula that glides on easily. And once on, it doesn’t feel heavy or oily at all.
Staying Power
Doesn’t quite live up to the hype of the name. Benefit Purple Snap Cream Shadow/Liner needs a primer or else it will crease and fade. For some reason, it has worse staying power than Tidal Rave which was actually not that bad. If you’re accustomed to wearing a primer every day anyway, then Purple Snap won’t be a problem for you. It sticks on like glue with all the primers I’ve tried.
Blendability
Like with Tidal Rave, Purple Snap requires you to blend quickly. It dries in about 30 seconds, so work that brush!

Final Verdict: 7.1/10
I really liked Tidal Rave because the color is gorgeous. Purple Snap doesn’t have that going on for it. The color is a bit yawn for me, so I can’t fully stand behind it, especially since it does crease and fade if I don’t wear a primer. Isn’t that the claim to the name?
Have you tried Benefit Creaseless Shadows and feel otherwise? Am I crazy? Let me know!
