If you’re going to grab one colour from the Zoya Petals Collection, I highly recommend that you go for Zoya Aster because this periwinkle is the star.
Cute and demure, this nail polish has a soft, dreamy appearance laced with lullaby glitter that combine for a sweet spring manicure.
It’s a pastel that’s turned up a notch, and there’s a gracefulness about it that I appreciate.

Zoya Aster Review
Colour
If the heavy white-based pastels aren’t your jam, Aster by Zoya will fit the bill because while it’s soft and pretty, it still has enough saturation to keep it looking alert.
This is the kind of dreamy polish that sings a sweet lullaby to your nails. It’s soft and delicate-looking, which is traditionally popular during the spring season, so it’s right on trend.
I love the look of this periwinkle on virtually everyone, and I hope that more companies will release colours like this because it doesn’t seem as prominent in the market as other shades.
Finish
Oh, the finish is what makes Aster by Zoya truly spectacular!
There are small flakes that reflect a gentle pink and blue, which add a ‘fairy touch’ and extra dimension to the overall appearance.
When you move your fingers, the flakes catch the light and create a soft effect that Zoya likes to describe as a ‘dewy’ finish. That’s very accurate.
Application & Formula
Aster by Zoya was easy to apply because the formula is smooth. However, the first coat was streaky, so you’ll definitely want to build it up with additional layers.
I found that three coats hit the sweet spot, but it’s possible that you may be able to get away with two coats, depending on how thick each coat is.
Ingredients & Vegan-Friendly
Zoya’s vegan-friendly nail polishes don’t contain any Toluene, Camphor, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, or DBP.

Final Verdict: 9/10
My eyes jumped straight to Zoya Aster, ever since I saw the Zoya Petals Collection press release. To me, it’s the star of the collection, which is why, if you only get a single colour, I suggest this one.
You can wear periwinkles any time, but I especially enjoy bringing them out in the spring because they line up nicely with my mental image of the season’s theme of renewal and rebirth.
What colour(s) do you associate with the season of spring? Do you find yourself reaching for specific shades more in the spring than any other times of the year?
I’m not much of a purple person, but this is really pretty. It’s the perfect polish for spring. It looks great on you as always. Thanks for sharing it with us. I think I might have to pick this one up.
Hey Melissa!
I’ve never seen anyone NOT rock a cute periwinkle like this, so, if you decide to get it, you’ll really enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by. See you soon! 🙂
Lol I feel awful I won’t buy Zoyas unless there is a BOGO or similar sale! I know Aster will be on my list next time though!
Hey Tanya!
The great thing is that Zoya has so many great sales, so chances are that you won’t have to wait too long to snag a good deal! 🙂
