OPI Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It Swatches & Review (Layered Over China Glaze Liquid Leather)

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It Swatches & ReviewSince I first laid eyes on the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection, OPI Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It got my attention.

Polishes that have large sequins look so pretty, and even though I always admire them when I see them in stores, I’ve oddly never bought any.

OPI Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It is my first go at one! 😀

As usual, the promo pictures in the press release I posted don’t do the actual polish much justice.

In person, it’s spectacular! I was really surprised that what I thought was going to be a micro-glitter polish actually was a small-flakie polish! I could stare at the bottle all day long because it’s so pretty! And I love how the large heart sequins float in the lacquer…however, they posed quite a challenge.

OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not Swatches & Review

OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not Swatches & ReviewOPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not may not be the most original colour or one that you’d pick out in a line-up, but it holds so much strong significance to me that I’ll always cherish it.

In high school, I had 14-17 bottles of nail polish, which was a major deal to me. It was more than any of my other friends had, and it took a few years to get to that point.

Then, in university, I hardly wore polish. It was a few years after I graduated and was working when I went to buy some shampoo from Trade Secrets. An OPI mini set caught my eye. It was from La Collection de France back in 2008.

That’s the point when I rekindled my love for polish. It was more dangerous this time around because I had a full-time job, and I didn’t have to set aside any money for tuition or school-related expenses. Polish money! 😉

OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not was the first lacquer I ever tried outside drugstore polishes. It opened up a whole new world, and that’s when I began collecting purples like a fiend before lusting over greens.

OPI DS Temptation Swatches & Review

OPI DS Temptation Swatches & ReviewOPI DS Temptation has the perfect name because it surely tempted me in the store…multiple times! I can’t even tell you how many times I picked this up to admire it and then put it back in the display. (I swear I heard the bottle screaming about being abandoned…)

And while it tempted me, it teased my camera like a burlesque dancer. It was very hard to take good photos of it because of all the twinkling glitter. Even the slightest hand movement blurred the image!

(And, yes, I still refuse to use a tripod. Haha, I prefer to complain about the same thing! Mary is stubborn. And she likes to refer to herself in the third person sometimes.) 😉

While OPI DS Temptation is a far cry from the absolutely perfect, smooth holographic nail polishes in the old OPI Designer Series line, I still think that it’s pretty, and I enjoyed wearing it.

But the question is: Was it worth the higher OPI Designer Series polish price tag? Allow me to tell you my nail-snob opinion! 😉

OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection Press Release & Promo PicturesGuess what? There’s a new limited-edition OPI collection coming out this June! It’s called the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection!

Nothin’ Mousie ’bout It is the main one I’m very excited about because it’s a pink-heart glitter polish! I don’t have anything like it – always wanted to try a lacquer with large sequins! 😀

I actually think that this collection looks more like a Valentine’s Day collection because of all the pink and red.

If I could design a polish for a Minnie Mouse collection, it would probably be a red polish with pink glassflecks, large black sequin hearts, and tiny square black and silver glitter. What would you create?

Come check out the official press release sent to me by PR, and take a look at the promo pictures of each colour!

OPI Save Me Swatches & Review (Layered Over Illamasqua Kink)

OPI Save Me Swatches & ReviewEver since I caught wind of OPI Save Me from the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection this year, it went straight on my To-Buy List.

Although I have 500+ bottles of nail polish, I don’t have any bar glitters.

(Well, when I was in high school, I had at least one bar-glitter polish, but I misplaced my entire high-school polish collection…so I consider this to be my first now.)

Instead of giving in right away to instant gratification, I decided to stick to my self-imposed strict budget and only purchase this when I achieved my goal.

This month, I reached my goal, so I rushed over to Trade Secrets and bought a bottle.

Okay, maybe I’m crazy (probably), but this polish was a let-down for me. It’s beautiful, of course, but I was expecting more. (I’m so demanding, I know! :P)

Nail Art Tutorial: Easter Egg Nails

Easter Egg Nails Nail Art Tutorial & PicturesWell, lookie here. Mr. Tom Thumb decided to make an appearance. “What better occasion than for the unveiling of Easter Egg Nails?” He told me.

(Don’t tell him, but he’s kind of a hot head, thinking that he’s better than the other fingers just because he’s bigger. And he keeps talking about how without him, humans wouldn’t be able to brag about having opposable thumbs…or play an octave on the piano with one hand. *Pfft*)

Today I’m going to show you how this Easter nail design is very easy to do. I’ll walk you through it step-by-step with written instructions as well as photos so you can see the process and not just the end result.

OPI Sparkle-icious Swatches & Review (Layered Over China Glaze Gothic Lolita)

OPI Sparkle-icious Swatches & ReviewWhen the OPI Burlesque Collection came out in 2010, I really wanted Sparkle-icious, but held off on snatching it up. At the time, I thought that the lemming would be squashed after a few months. Nope!

But by the time I caved, it sold out everywhere. And I wasn’t prepared to pay an inflated price, either.

Then, low and behold, one day, it popped up randomly on an etailer for a less-than-retail price. Without blinking, I placed the order. And sure enough, a few days later, they sold out of every bottle. (Thank goodness I didn’t dilly dally when I had a second chance!)

This post is a bit of a tease because it’s harder to find now, but considering how gorgeous it is, it would be a real crime to not share this with you all. 😉
