OPI Solitaire Swatches & Review

OPI Solitaire Swatches & ReviewOPI Solitaire is, the white Liquid Sand from the upcoming Bond Girls Collection due out in May.

I don’t often wear white nail polish, so this was certainly an interesting change of pace.

Ever since I first talked about the OPI Bond Girls Collection, many of my readers expressed great interest in Solitaire.

So, I’m finally getting around to fulfilling the request to see this unique Liquid Sand in greater detail.

Hope you enjoy this review! And, I’m curious – now that you see it close up, does OPI Solitaire live up to your expectations, or were you hoping for something else?

OPI Polka.com Layering Combinations

OPI Polka.com Swatches Layered Over Yellow, Purple, Pink, Red, Blue & BlackAfter wearing OPI Polka.com over Essie Mint Candy Apple (a mint green) as a full manicure, I was itching to try layering it over other colours.

So what did I do? I scratched that itch!

My OPI Polka.com Layering Combinations confirmed my suspicions – this glittery nail polish is truly versatile.

In this post, you’ll see how it looks absolutely stunning over everything from a pale yellow to a jet black.

If you’re a fan of glitter and layering it over different-coloured basis, I highly recommend that you pick up OPI Polka.com before it’s too late. This is one of the more interesting glitters, and it creates a neat Easter-egg, speckled effect!

OPI Pussy Galore Swatches & Review

OPI Pussy Galore Swatches & ReviewThere are some nail polishes that make me feel like such a lady…even if I’m wearing sweatpants and stuffing my face with kettle-cooked chips (Kettle Chips in Honey Dijon, FYI). I know…sexy beast, right? 😉

Although its name isn’t very lady-like, when I wore OPI Pussy Galore from the Bond Girls Collection due out in May, I certainly felt prim and proper.

For one thing, I don’t often wear light pinks, so that may have something to do with it. Also, there’s something about this particular shade and finish that makes me feel this way. More on that later!

Reader Request: OPI Get Your Number & OPI Tiffany Case Comparison Swatches & Photos

OPI Get Your Number & OPI Tiffany CaseSince yesterday’s OPI Tiffany Case Swatches & Review post, many of you asked if I could compare that polish to OPI Get Your Number (another Liquid Sand, but from the Mariah Carey Collection).

You may remember that I gushed about Get Your Number like it was David Beckham blowing me kisses. 😉 To date, it’s still my favourite OPI Liquid Sand polish. Just look at it! You can see there’s magic inside! (Even though PR provided me with a bottle, I ended up buying a back-up of it because I loved it that much!)

As you can see in the photo, they’re not as similar as lots of people thought. There are distinct differences, so you can justify owning both.

In this post, I’ll share more side-by-side bottle shots as well as swatches so you can better see the big differences between the two.

These are both great picks if you’re just diving into Liquid Sand territory. I highly recommend them!

OPI Tiffany Case Swatches & Review

OPI Tiffany Case Swatches & ReviewOPI Tiffany Case is the glam bright blue Liquid Sand nail polish from the OPI Bond Girls Collection due out in May.

If you weren’t interested in the dark and brooding OPI Vesper that I showed yesterday, you may have a soft spot for Tiffany Case.

While I can appreciate both, so far, of the two, I prefer OPI Tiffany Case because it’s reminding me that spring weather will soon be upon us. (Mother Nature, pay attention to the calendar! It’s already supposed to be spring!)

I’m in love with this blue Liquid Sand! It’s eye-catching without being too flashy. There’s just enough glitz to make it feel like a special manicure.

OPI Vesper Swatches & Review

OPI Vesper Swatches & ReviewOPI Vesper from the OPI Bond Girls Collection coming out in May is quite deceptive in the bottle.

And, like the Transformers, there’s more than meets the eye with OPI Vesper.

This is the type of nail polish that you really need to read a review about or see photos to know what you’re getting. Just looking at the bottle isn’t indicative of what you’ll get on your nails. More on this later…

Blog News: I Met Suzi Weiss-Fischmann a 2nd Time & Attended an Exclusive OPI Product Launch (Plus Surprise Giveaway!)

SwatchAndLearn Suzi Weiss-FischmannIf you’ve visited Swatch And Learn or followed me along social-media avenues in the last few days, you’re well aware of some pretty big news: I met Suzi Weiss-Fischmann (Co-Founder, Executive VP & Artistic Director of OPI) a 2nd time and attended an exclusive OPI product launch!

You’ll remember that back on October 14, 2012, I enjoyed an exclusive dinner with her. That was a major event in my blogging career, and I wrote a very long and detailed post about it.

I thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime deal. But, Fate dealt me a Royal Flush in the game of polish poker. 😉

On February 20 (which is actually around my birthday!), Langton Communications, one of the PR firms I’ve collaborated with since August 2011, e-mailed me an invitation to attend an exclusive OPI product launch of the Fall/Winter 2013 collection! (A big thank you goes out to the entire Langton Communications team. Their professionalism and ability to get things done with flair never ceases to impress me.)

When I read the message on my iPhone, my heart was racing like Usain Bolt.

It’s every nailphile’s dream to meet the creative visionary behind the leading nail-polish company. But to have the opportunity to do it twice? “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!” 😉

There probably was a cloud of smoke rising as I RSVPed. Pig Pen from Charlie Brown would’ve been impressed, even if it wasn’t a cloud of dirt.

Eventually, my heartbeat went back to its usually rhythm (Kes the Band “My Love”, if you must know the exact beat…hehe!).

From now on, I’ll always remember Monday March 18 as the day I got to meet Suzi Weiss-Fischmann a 2nd time!

This time, it was held at the Aria Ristorante in the heart of downtown Toronto. What a classy venue!

In this post, I’ll go into the details about the whole experience. There’s so much I must tell you, and I hope that we can share the excitement together as nailphiles!

Also, I’m sneaking in a surprise giveaway for my blog readers. I hope you like it! 😉

Edit: CONGRATULATIONS, Floria! You won my surprise giveaway for an autographed bottle of OPI The Man With The Golden Gun! Please reply to my e-mail within 48 hours to claim your prize. Thanks to everyone for participating!
