MAC Jade Dragon Swatches & Review

MAC Jade Dragon SwatchesWhen it comes to green nail polishes, my willpower goes soft like a jellyfish. (If you have self-restraint, more power to ya!)

Since I had never tried any MAC nail polishes before, I knew that my first had to be a green – MAC Jade Dragon.

But, Bruce Lee, I entered the dragon with great trepidation.

Although I had heard raves about MAC Jade Dragon, I had also heard many people complain about the MAC nail-polish formula’s lackluster performance.

Did the formula leave me breathing fire, or was it as easy to get along with as Falkor? Continue reading

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick Swatches & Review

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 LipstickMAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick has an Amplified Creme formula that goes on creamy. This is the shade to reach for when you sport dramatic smoky eyes and want all the attention on the windows to your soul.

I’m always buying nude lipsticks, but they usually seem hard for me to pull off – too concealer-like, too corpse-ish, too dry, etc.

Despite having bad luck with finding my perfect wear-anytime nude lipstick, I still decided to give the MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Amplified Creme Lipstick a try. It has slight peach leanings, which I feel makes it more wearable than ones that are too beige or yellow.

Plus, you’ve gotta give kudos to the MAC Viva Glam campaign because the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund, which helps people who are living with AIDS and HIV. It feels good donating to a worthy cause and getting a collectible beauty product to boot.

So was this lipstick a hit or miss for me? Will I be cracking it out often, or will it be hidden away in a makeup drawer? Continue reading

MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush Review & Pictures

MAC 187 Duo-Fiber BrushLast year I was on a huge makeup-brush kick. I literally bought several brushes each week. You’d think that I was Bob Ross!

Thankfully for my wallet, this year I haven’t bought a single new brush. Unfortunately, I’ve just redirected my shopping focus on colorful eyeliners and, of course, nail polish. What? It’s for the blog! Hehe…

The MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush is the blue blood in my brush collection. I swear that I could faintly hear my bank account crying as I ordered this baby online. But with all the hype surrounding this MAC brush, I felt the strong need to try it.

Is the MAC 187 brush worth the heavy price tag? Or does it perform poorly like a tone-deaf contestant on American Idol? Find out! Continue reading

MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick Swatches & Review

MAC Viva Glam V LipstickAlthough I’m more into lip gloss than lipstick, there was a color that I’ve been jonesing for the longest time – MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick! I finally bought it.

Not only is this a gorgeous neutral pink with golden pearl shimmer, but every cent of the selling price goes to the MAC AIDS Fund, which supports women, men, and children who are living with AIDS and HIV. So now you can look good while also doing some good.

This shade is perfect for people like me who don’t want to sport loud lip colors for everyday wear. MAC Viva Glam V Lustre Lipstick is sheer enough to look great on pretty much everyone, yet has some color to give you that Your Lips But Better Look. Continue reading

MAC Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass Swatches & Review

MAC Revenge is Sweet LipglassIf you follow makeup news, you know all about the frenzy caused by the MAC Venomous Villains Collection – items sold out online not long after they went up!

MAC teamed up with Disney to bring colors influenced by 4 villains: Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), the Evil Queen (Snow White), Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmations), and Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog).

I tried to be good, but when you combine Maleficent, purple, and lip gloss, my will power has no chance. Besides, “it’s for the blog”, right? Heheheh. I picked up the MAC Revenge Is Sweet Lipglass. Oh, the things I do for Swatch And Learn!

Is this color bewitching? Did Maleficent cast a spell on me? There’s only one way to find out!

Sigma SS239 Brush Review & Pictures (Sigma E55 Brush Review & Pictures)

Sigma SS239 Brush Sigma E55 BrushI got the Sigma SS239 Brush in the Eyes Kit. Before you ask, yes, Sigma has recently changed the name of their brushes because they were heavily criticized for trying to copy MAC brushes right down to the name of the brushes. The Sigma SS239 Brush is now called the Sigma E55 Brush.

Out of all the eye-shadow brushes I own (Sigma or from other brands), the SS239 or E55 is hands down my favorite for packing color onto my eyelids. I would go so far as to even say that it’s my favorite brush to use. Period. Continue reading
