Nail Art: Summery Fishtail Braid Nails

Summery Fishtail Braid Nails Nail Art SwatchesYou’ll remember that a few days ago, I shared a fishtail braid nail-art tutorial with step-by-step instructions and photos. It featured dark colours.

This time, I decided to try Summery Fishtail Braid Nails with a brighter palette.

Originally I wanted to use green, pink, and silver, but I sadly couldn’t find my bottle of China Glaze Millennium! *Sniff sniff* So, I used white instead because it would provide some contrast.

In this post, I’ll show you more photos of this manicure. But, but more importantly, I’ll share some extra tips and tricks that I learned while doing this a second time around so that your attempt will be smooth sailing. 🙂

China Glaze New Bohemian Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

China Glaze New Bohemian Collection Press Release & Promo PicturesIf you’re really into polish, you probably have been eagerly anticipating the release of the China Glaze New Bohemian Collection for quite a while!

I received the press release and promotional picture for it on Friday and decided to share it with you in case there are those who haven’t caught wind of it.

If I get large individual bottle photos of each shade, I’ll be sure to edit this post and include them.

Edit: Right now, Rare & Radiant looks like it’ll be another Chanel Peridot dupe. Since I already have Peridot, I’m more anxious about the other 5 shades!

The display looks really fun. I like how they incorporated so many wild colours – it really captures the new bohemian look they’re going for. It’s gorgeous, and I think the theme is a wonderful concept because, yes, the new bohemian look is a far cry from the old definition of a bohemian.

The only thing is that the model probably should’ve tilted her head down a bit. It’s a little too nasally. See, this is what happens when you’re like me and watch too much America’s Next Top Model – you start critiquing photos as though you know something about fashion and photography! SNOB! 😉

Nail Art Tutorial: Fishtail Braid Nails

Fishtail Braid Nails Nail Art Tutorial & SwatchesFishtail Braid Nails are not only really easy to do, but you don’t need any special nail-art tools, either!

The only thing you’ll need is some patience because you have to layer the polishes. But, if you have patience, you’ll be well-rewarded. 🙂

I was already wearing China Glaze Man Hunt as a manicure, so I decided to choose colours that complemented it. (The theme I was going for was Egyptian.)

Come see my step-by-step fishtail braid nail-art tutorial complete with photos so that you can see just how simple it is to do.

This was my first time doing this design, and now I want to try so many other colour combinations with the same technique – it’s addictive!

I think fishtail braid nails are one of the hottest trends right now. Will you be participating?

China Glaze Man Hunt Swatches & Review

China Glaze Man Hunt Swatches & ReviewAre you ready to go on a man hunt? Make sure you bring some super-sharp spears, ladies! We want ’em to know that we ain’t playin’!

Let’s make our way in further. Aha! There they are…sitting on the sofa with the remote control in their hands! 😉

China Glaze Man Hunt is a rich, pigmented, primary-blue lacquer that goes on beautifully and looks really shiny. It comes from the China Glaze On Safari Collection.

I really like the safari theme, and there seems to be diverse colours and finishes to please a lot of different people.

China Glaze I’m with the Lifeguard Swatches & Review

China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard Swatches & ReviewWant to turn heads? A neon lime green will do just that! 😉

I wore China Glaze I’m with the Lifeguard last week, and guys in particular would comment on how much they liked it.

This isn’t for the faint of heart. You have to want your nails to get attention if you use this. It’s very bright (but not the brightest neon green in my collection).

It reminds me of the colour of radioactive substances in cartoons I watched as a kid.

P.S. I want to wish all my lovely American blog readers a wonderful 4th of July! Hope that you’re having a great time celebrating with family and friends!

China Glaze On Safari Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

China Glaze On Safari Collection Press Release & Promotion PicturesIn the past two days, I’ve shared with you a couple of colours from the China Glaze On Safari Collection.

It’s backwards because normally I show you the press release first and then some swatches if I purchased or received any of the colours.

Since I just got the e-mail with the press release yesterday, I scrambled around to whip up this post in case any of you haven’t seen it yet. 🙂

I’m really in love with the theme for this collection, and the names for the polishes are very memorable and clever. Plus a lot of the colours can easily take you into the fall.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters Swatches & Review

China Glaze Exotic Encounters Swatches & ReviewIt should come as no surprise that the first colour I was drawn to in the China Glaze On Safari Collection was China Glaze Exotic Encounters.

As much as I appreciate alliteration, I can’t get over how the name ‘Exotic Encounters’ sounds more like a raunchy pay-per-view flick, a shady dating company that promotes adulterous affairs, or a motel that has a room with a revolving bed. Yes, my mind was in the gutter and is easily amused.

(Actually, my mind is very fond of traveling to all sorts of places. It has collected many frequent-flyer miles. What should I redeem them for?)

What would an exotic encounter be for a nail polish? Would it be hanky panky between a neutral shade and a neon? Or maybe it involves a creme canoodling with a multichrome? Oh, the scandal! 😉

This polish was a total win in my book! The teal-leaning green is within my comfort zone, the application was wonderful, and this colour really does remind me of a safari (or at least going on an outdoor adventure with the sun beating down).
