China Glaze Want My Bawdy Swatches & Review

China-Glaze-Want-My-Bawdy-Swatches-ReviewHave you been feeling blue lately? China Glaze Want My Bawdy from the New Bohemian Collection has, but it wouldn’t be any other way!

This blue nail polish surprised me because I thought it was going to be a duochrome, however, the finish was a straight-up chrome.

Nevertheless, this one is gorgeous, and I loved the rich contrast.

It looks magnificent especially in sunlight, although I didn’t have my camera handy when Mr. Sun decided to say hello. Still, you can see some of the magic in my photos with the camera’s flash.

And…what a cheeky name this polish has. It’s trying to use its nail-polish wiles to lure us in! 😉

China Glaze Unpredictable Swatches & Review

China-Glaze-Unpredictable-Swatches-ReviewLots of nailphiles eagerly anticipated the China Glaze New Bohemian Collection, and I wasn’t an exception.

Despite its name, China Glaze Unpredictable is a very predictable colour for me to wear because I’m a greeeeen fieeeend!

This one’s glowy and flashy – two nail-polish characteristics I swoon over.

Whether you admire it in direct sunlight, under the flash of a camera, or in dim natural light, this is the type of lacquer that always seems to steal the show!

Nail Art: Owl Nails

Owl Nails Nail Art PicturesYou’ll remember that not long ago, I bought the brand new Bundle Monster image plate set. The two owl designs made it a must-have for me.

To make China Glaze Elephant Walk more my style, I turned them into Owl Nails with the help of Bundle Monster Image Plate BM-309.

After these cuties were on my nails, I fell in love with the manicure. And I appreciated the grey as the base colour.

I painted the tips of my nails black with China Glaze Liquid Leather so that the owls would have something to stand on.

If you look really closely at the cute owl on my middle finger, you’ll see that he’s a bit of a show-off. While all the others have their feet on the ground, he’s balancing himself on just one leg! 😉 What an attention-seeker!

Hehe, I also like how the owls look like they’re either wearing monocles or they have shiners!

China Glaze Elephant Walk Swatches & Review

China-Glaze-Elephant-Walk-Swatches-ReviewOne of the colours I find the hardest to wear is grey. Aside from beige, grey is definitely the odd one out playing by itself in the sandbox that is my nail-polish collection.

So when I had the opportunity to wear China Glaze Elephant Walk from the On Safari Collection, I was crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that it would be one that wouldn’t clash with my skin tone. (Yes, I was quite the beautiful sight…) 😉

Speaking of elephants, are you also a fan of the majestic creatures? I like how they take their time and aren’t ashamed of being so wrinkly. (Or who knows? Maybe they slather themselves with anti-aging creams at night and hope for the best. I wouldn’t put it past them!)

And for the fellow Canadians out there who were children of the 1980s, did you used to watch The Elephant Show with Sharon, Lois, and Bram? I did – it was one of my childhood favourites!

China Glaze Orange Knockout Swatches & Review

China Glaze Orange Knockout Swatches & ReviewWant to direct traffic…with your fingernails? Then you need China Glaze Orange Knockout in your life!

This blindingly bright neon orange came out in the old China Glaze Ink Collection back in 2008, but I only bought it recently.

If you’re like me and don’t get into fist fights, Orange Knockout is probably as close to a brawl as you’ll ever get…and thank goodness for that! (My parents didn’t pay for my braces when I was a teenager just to have my teeth knocked out now.) 😉 Step away from the knuckleduster.

Don’t have a neon orange nail polish in your collection already? I think this one is a winner and worth tracking down. Despite it being old, you can easily find it online, and I’m not sure, but even Sally Beauty Supply may have it. It’s worth a visit.

P.S. Excuse the makeup on my pinkie’s nail. I was playing around with some foundation, and I didn’t even notice it while I was taking photos. Whoops!

Nail Art: Neon Skull Nails

Neon Skull Nails Nail ArtLately I’ve been really loving neon nail polish, and I wanted to wear the neon ombre manicure I did before, but with a twist.

I combined the neon ombre manicure with skull nail art that I did before. This is a great way to not only rock super-bright neons, but also to give them a little edge.

Hehe, I really wanted to wear skulls again because I’m longing for Hallowe’en. Strange…considering that the weather is so balmy, but I think my new favourite season is the fall – that’s when the best fashion and makeup comes out. Plus I don’t have to worry about the humidity giving me Poodle Hair in the fall! 😉

What do you think of this manicure? Too obnoxious, or just obnoxious enough? 😉 Hehe!

P.S. Haha, one of the skulls has a snaggletooth!

China Glaze Adventure Red-y Swatches & Review

China Glaze Aventure Red-y Swatches & ReviewChina Glaze Adventure Red-y is a classic red creme polish from the China Glaze On Safari Collection.

It isn’t the most unique or special, but the ease of application thanks to the great formula should win some points!

You know, even though I tend to reach more for my greens, purples, and blues, there are days when I crave a sexy red. It’s sharp and traditional.

Do you ever feel the same way and get a craving seemingly out of nowhere to sport a red polish?
