If you follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ over the past few weeks, you’ve seen me share my swatches of 17 beautiful Smith & Cult nail polishes!
Since not all nail polishes I feature on social media wind up on the blog, you may not have seen these, except for Smith & Cult She Said Yeah, which I did an in-depth review on that included multiple swatches on here. (Details of where to find these luxury nail polishes and more information are in the ‘Key Notes’ section of that review.)
My Thoughts on Smith & Cult Nail Polish
After trying out a wide range of colours from this new-to-me brand, I can totally vouch for them in terms of quality. The ones I’ve tried had smooth formulas, which made for an easy application. Plus the extensive variety of colours means that, chances are, at least one will appeal to you!
The bottles feel luxurious and are on a whole other level than others I have in my collection…and you know that I have thousands, so that speaks volumes. They’re weighty, and the design reminds me of a high-end perfume bottle.
Although the caps are extremely large, they are just covers, so you can easily twist them off, which reveals a smaller handle that allows you to apply the nail polish as you normally would.
Compared to many mainstream nail polishes, Smith & Cult features a much shorter brush wand. I found it easy to use, but obviously, the experience and preference varies from person to person.
In this post, I’ll share with you larger photos of each of the swatches shown in the above collage, as well as the captions I wrote (inspired by the nail polishes) to accompany each of the swatches that I posted on my social media.
Which colours do you like?
If I haven’t yet swatched a Smith & Cult nail polish that you want to see, let me know! (I have some more colours to share, and if I have the one you’d like to see, I’ll bump it up on my to-share-on-social-media list.)

Which are your favourites from the Smith & Cult nail polishes I’ve shown? Are there any other Smith & Cult nail polishes that you’d like to see me swatch? What are some luxury nail polishes you’ve tried and enjoy?
They’re all so rich and colorful, it would be hard to pick just one. I had not heard of this brand until I saw it here, but I think I might need to buy one of the polishes. The problem is, which one to buy first? They all look amazing on you. Thanks as always for sharing with us!
Love finding new-to-me brands that I can also share with fellow nail enthusiasts. It’s like we’re discovering them together, which is always a treat!
Choosing one is definitely the hardest part. Not sure if I can recommend just one, but among my top picks would be She Said Yeah, Feed the Rich, and Kings & Thieves!
I’m really impressed with Smith & Cult. Hehe, as you can see, I’ve tried so many of their nail polishes, and their formula is very consistent! Plus the bottles alone are so beautiful that you ‘need’ at least one on display. (I ended up putting a bunch of them in a line on a shelf because I loved looked at the design of the bottles that much! Here’s the photo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BE9jvq_O0SU/
I’ve been loving seeing your swatches on Twitter as you’ve been giving me great steers on what to try next, thank you for that!
Got to admit I’ve been a S&C fan since last year when I tried their pink/silver glitter called Gay Ponies Dancing in the Snow. I don’t know how available that one it is now because I could only find it online in one U.K-based place (where I live). My vote for an editorial colour has to be Bitter Buddhist. I wasn’t sure about it at first but I’ve grown to love it as a great Spring shade! After your swatches; Birdie Num Num is my next choice. 🙂
Thank you so much for following me along as I do deeper into the Rabbit Hole that is Smith & Cult nail polishes! 😉 I’ve been having a blast trying out so many colours – new fan of this brand! (Swatches of even more colours are coming. Hehe, even today, I posted another one on social media that wasn’t shown in this blog post.)
Ohhh, I’ve seen swatches of that glitter you mentioned: Gay Ponies Dancing in the Snow! Hehe, the name fits it so well, and I’m curious to try it, if I can get my hands on it.
Ohhhh… those cremes are to die for!!
I would love to get my hands on all the dusty colors, Bitter Buddhist most of all and Feed The Rich as a very close second 🙂

Smith & Cult does cremes amazingly well! Plus their formula is so shiny, even without a top coat. Lovely!
Beautiful, wow! You can tell these are high-end, they just “look” rich you know? 3rd vote for Bitter Buddhist, love it. Feed the Rich too… heck all the blues and greens are gorgeous, Beat Street sure caught my eye too. If you have Bang the Dream, that’s one I’d like to see swatched. Or any of the glitters 🙂 Thank you as always!
Oh, I hear ya! The bottles are by far the classiest ones in my entire collection. The bottles are heavy and solid in your hand, which makes them feel luxurious and worth the higher price tag.
Just checked my stash for Band the Dream. Nuts – I don’t have that one yet, but if I get it, I’ll be sure to share a swatch of it on social media. 🙂 Same goes for the glitters used for layering.
Your review is right on! I am a nail polish addict and have at least 10 different colors from S&C. This is a high quality nail polish and colors are extremely rich, some only need one coat even though I apply two always. Kundalini Husltle and Kings and Thieves are my two absolute favorites, whenever I wear them I receive tons of compliments. Love these colors so much I bought seconds. Thank you for such beautiful photos.
Aww, thank you so much for leaving me a sweet comment. I’m thrilled when readers enjoy my swatches. I absolutely love sharing my passion with you, and when I receive comments like yours, it truly puts a spring in my step and makes my day brighter! Thank you for your support and encouragement!
Love this review!
Would you know if ‘feed the rich’ looks like any Essie polish? I found the shades ‘satin sister’ and ‘the perfect cover up’ kind of similar, but I’m not sure they are good dupes. It is really difficult to find S&C in my country!
It’s difficult to find Smith & Cult here in Canada, too, unless you get your nails painted in a nail salon. Wish that the brand would be more readily available everywhere because they are such a lovely luxury polish!
Hmm…I can’t think of an Essie polish that’s an exact dupe of Smith & Cult Feed the Rich. It is lighter and brighter than Satin Sister, I think, as well as a bit more blue. Same goes for The Perfect Cover Up. Aww, sorry that I couldn’t be of more help!
