Makeup remover isn’t as fun as makeup, no doubt. But! It’s still an important step of your daily beauty routine. Removing all traces of makeup allows your skin to breathe and regenerate at night. I-m-p-o-r-t-a-n-t!

After using many different types of eye makeup remover, I would say that Sephora FACE Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is one of the best so far. That’s not to say I’ll stop my search for the perfect remover…because that means I’ll have to stop purchasing and trying new products! 😛

The Review

Let me start off by saying that I like solutions better than cleansing cloths. The many different cleansing cloths by various brands I’ve tried tend to dry out very easily. I had to keep them in Ziploc bags, and even then the last few cloths are always useless. Plus, the cloths were always the wrong size.

The thing I like the most about the Sephora waterproof eye makeup remover is that I don’t have to use a lot. A few drops on a cotton pad get the job done for each eye…which is good since I personally think the price is a bit high (the one that’s not for waterproof makeup is cheaper). For good waterproof makeup though, you do have to wipe a few more times to get every last bit off.

The bottle design is also good because it has a small hole opening. This means you can soak a Q-tip without wasting product. The Q-tip works great if your eyeliner is really close to the lash line, and you don’t want to pull or tug your eyelids to get the cotton pad to reach.

Another thing that’s a plus is the formula itself. It feels really gentle, although it does leave a slight oily feeling. But really, it doesn’t feel like you’ve slathered on grease at all. It’s a soft and gentle oiliness – some might even think it’s kind of soothing.

And here’s a big positive: it does not smell. Not just that it doesn’t smell like chemicals (it doesn’t), but it has no smell. It’s great that there’s no scent because that means those who are sensitive to flowery or chemically smells can use it.

Pros

  • Contains pro-vitamin B5 (helps with moisture)
  • Gentle
  • Has no scent
  • Effective (don’t need a lot)
Cons

  • Consistency is a bit too thin (can’t “soak” off stubborn waterproof makeup)
  • Can be more affordably priced

Final Verdict: 8.5/10

I used to avoid wearing waterproof mascara because I hate taking off my makeup at night – it’s a hassle, and you could end up with raccoon eyes. Not anymore. The Sephora makeup remover is my trusty friend!
