I never had a plate of magic cake, but my nails got to experience a little bit of ‘abracadabra’! 😉
Today, I’d like to show you the awesomeness that is Rainbow Honey Magic Cake! (I layered it over OPI Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around from the Brazil Collection.)
It’s one of the few indie nail polishes that I own, and it’s more fun than a bunch of animal balloons.
The bright colours make me think of my childhood because I used to wear a lot of neon clothing. (Hey, it was all the rage when I grew up in the 1980s!)
I just love how fun all the different pieces of glitter combine to create a fun party on your nails!

Rainbow Honey Magic Cake Review
Colour
Magic Cake by Rainbow Honey has so many bright shades – yellow, pink, green, blue, and yellow! Together, they are really bright and cheery, the perfect summer mix. (Ugh, the winter weather has been absolutely dismal, so anything that perks up my mood is welcomed!)
In addition to the really colourful glitter, there’s also interesting silver pieces that are like shards of glass. Really cool!
Finish
This glitter polish has large sequins in various squares and hexagons, which makes for an interesting polish. It’s gritty, but that’s to be expected with these types of nail polishes.
After I used a glossy top coat, things smoothed out well. And, of course, because of the large glitter, I found that this nail polish dried really quickly.
Removing it wasn’t as bad as I expected, but it did take a little time to get every piece off.
Application & Formula
I used a single coat, and I found that to get good coverage when layering, I didn’t need more than this. I guess you could use multiple coats to completely cover your nail, but that would be harder to remove. Personally, I like the look of it layered, and it gives you the freedom to customize the finished look.
Normally, I go with a colourful nail polish, but this time, I went with a neutral because I thought it’d be neat to allow the neon glitter to really shine through.
While I painted on this polish like normal, I had to dab a little bit to ensure that there was even glitter coverage.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
I really enjoyed wearing Magic Cake by Rainbow Honey. It is fun to wear because the glitter is so bright, and you can really customize your look by changing what polish you wear underneath.
It would be fun to see this glitterbomb over a neon nail polish for extra pizzazz! 🙂
What would you layer under Rainbow Honey Magic Cake? Do you wear glitter bombs like this often? What’s your favourite indie nail polish?

I’ve been really gravitating towards neons as we get closer to summer this year, and this one has so many neons colours in one polish! I’m also loving how you’re reviewing some indie polishes now, I’d love to see more!
Hey Julia!
I’d love to review more indie polishes! Are there any particular brands that you’re most interested in?
Hi Mary,
I was wondering where I could buy this polish. I haven’t seen this brand at any of the ULTA stores or Sephora. Could you please share a link if you happen to know where to buy this? I really really really want it for the summer 🙂 I thinkit’d look fab as an accent nail or just a confetti on white 🙂 Thanks a mill!!!
P.S – love alll your posts!!!

You can purchase it directly from Rainbow Honey’s official website, which is http://www.rainbowhoney.com. Have fun, but that website is dangerous! I wanted to buy everything! 😉
