OPI Warm & Fozzie Swatches & Review

OPI Warm & Fozzie Swatches & ReviewLast month, you’ll remember that I swatched and reviewed 4 glitter polishes from the OPI Muppets Collection.

I didn’t think that I’d have more to review before the official release of the collection, but PR was kind enough to send me more colours – this one as well as another shade!

So, today I have theΒ pleasure to bring youΒ OPI Warm & Fozzie, which I loved a lot more than I thought I would! πŸ˜€

Now, brown polishes don’t usually do anything for me, but this one’s really different, and photos don’t do it justice.

It’s a warm copper that at first looks ordinary. But with closer inspection, you’ll see that there are actually pinkish (or rust-coloured) micro-glitter that gives it more dimension.

Allow me to go into this in more depth.

Your bottle will look different than mine. That’s because PR sent me this. I’m showing it just in case the serial number is helpful to someone.

OPI Warm & Fozzie Review

Warm & Fozzie by OPI is a warm metallic copper. In the sunlight and with the camera’s flash, the brown and the gold really come to the forefront. In natural light, if you look closely, you’ll actually see some rust-coloured or pink particles mixed in with the copper. It gives it more dimension.

This gorgeous polish really catches the light and changes its personality a bit depending on the angle of your nails. Sometimes it looks like a warm brown and other times it looks like a cool brown. And in certain lighting with my nails angled a certain way, I can almost see murky green edges. It’s on the verge of being green, but doesn’t quite go there.

Now, I said before that the polish to snatch up quickly was OPI Rainbow Connection from this collection. But if you’re not interested in chunky glitter for layering, OPI Warm & Fozzie would be my polish recommendation. This one looks way better in person!

I think this is a wonderful colour for fall – really puts me in the mood and makes me think of leaves changing colours.

This polish is tough for me to classify because it’s actually pretty complex. While it shines like a metallic, it has those little pieces that make the finish seem to be a foil. And because the colour shifts slightly, I want to call this a weak duochrome, but it seems to be there depending on the lighting. Very interesting!

The little particles lie flat on the nails, so the finish is very smooth.

Application & Formula

The formula on Warm & Fozzie by OPI was liquidy, thin, and sheer. You’ll need at least 2 coats to cover your nail, but I recommend using 3 coats because that extra coat really brings out the richness of the colour way better.

  • Beautiful fall bronze/gold/rust hue
  • Metallic-foil finish with what seems like a faint duochrome
  • Unique & complex shade
  • Colour catches the light & really sparkles

  • Formula is thin & sheer – requires 2-3 coats to achieve full opacity

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

Although the glitters from the OPI The Muppets Collection are getting a lot of attention, don’t overlook the unique copper, OPI Warm & Fozzie! And the plus of this is that it’s easier to remove than the chunky glitters. It’s the perfect autumnal shade!

Do you like brown, copper, or gold nail polishes? What’s your favourite polish to wear in the fall? Are you a fan of Fozzie Bear?

      Hey Rini!

Hehe, great minds swatch alike. πŸ˜‰ Glad you’re also a fan of this colour – it’s even more special than I thought it would be.

P.S. Your swatches of it are lovely!

Oh my goodness! I love this! I think I might like it even better than Rainbow Connection! (*gasp* Sacrilege, I know! But with the Nicole by OPI glitter that looked fairly similar, I’m not entirely worried of it selling out now.. XD)

That copper shade is so pretty! I love the metallic foil finish. It reminds me of Nubar Gold Leaf except it’s a foil. What do you think?

      Hey Carmela!

Hehe, don’t worry – not a sacrilege. πŸ˜‰ Rainbow Connection is all kinds of awesome, but, yeah, now there are so many dupes of it. Whereas I have never seen anything like Warm & Fozzie! And I don’t wear many browns/golds/coppers/bronzes in general, so it takes a lot for me to stop and go crazy over one. This one drove me crazy, and I liked how even though the colour was out of my comfort zone, it was really easy to wear.

Yes, I can see how it would remind you of a foiled version of Nubar Gold Leaf. πŸ™‚

Ok… This nail polish is the one I’ve been salivating over since the press releases. And I’m telling you, nail-polish photos CAN IN FACT induce an increase in saliva… As is the case with this shade.
This shade is so up my alley it might as well have been created on Marta Lane! I’m seriously debating camping out at local Trade Secrets to guarantee my bottle… Maybe I’ll bake cookies for the mall securtity to turn a blind eye to the weird chick in a sleeping bag (who abandoned her kids just to get Warm & Fozzy)…? Lol!
So in conclusion, I don’t quite know exactly how I feel about this shade πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
Ps you need to wear browns more often… This looks great on you!!!!

      Hey Marta!

Hahahaha – this colour is like Pavlov’s bell, except it works on humans, not dogs! πŸ˜›

When I saw the press release, I overlooked this one because I was concentrating so much on Rainbow Connection. But it truly is incredible – you have a good eye! (Two, even!)

Haha, you crack me up – baking cookies for the mall security? Hehehe! Oh, I’m sure he would eat them (and love them – who wouldn’t?), but he’d probably tell you to leave right after…and ask you to bake more. At that point, maybe you’d just have to push him aside and tell him that he doesn’t understand – it’s POLISH! Although I don’t think the security reinforcements will understand, either. πŸ˜›

And thank you! I definitely have overlooked a lot of browns in the past just because I thought they wouldn’t look nice on me.

      Hey thenailaholic!

You’re gonna love it! Such a unique colour. When you get it, I bet that you’ll be staring at the bottle a lot. Those little rust or pinkish pieces really make the brown more interesting.

      Hey Maribeth!

Hehe, and the name really suits it because it’s such a warm colour that makes me think of a beloved bear. πŸ™‚

I bought this color as one of those random what the heck purchases… and truthfully I didn’t really like it. I haven’t worn it yet, only swatched on a nail and removed it. I wish it had more red….but then I guess it wouldn’t resemble Fozzie bear anymore lol

    1. Mary Post author

      Hey Vivian!

Aww…it’s too bad that you didn’t care for this colour. Maybe you could swap it with someone for a shade you’d prefer instead?

      Hey Ruthe!

A lot of browns seem flat or too…hmm…poopish? Hehe! I prefer my poopy polishes to look like geese poop. (Too much information? Haha!)

I think what makes Warm & Fozzie special is that there’s red/rose-coloured glitter mixed in that saves this brown from looking blah. Also, I think it makes it warmer-toned, which is more flattering on me than the cool-toned kind.

  4. Amy

Just got this in the mail today (I live in Labrador West…not many shopping areas haha πŸ™‚ ) after seeing it here on your website….and I love it! I hope the sun is out tomorrow so I can get a good look in the sunlight! Thanks for the awesome swatches! πŸ™‚

    1. Mary Post author

      Hey Amy!

Weeeeeeee! So happy to hear that you love it, too! And I’m glad that my swatches helped you decide to get it. πŸ™‚ Good choice – it’s one of my favourites from the collection.

      Hey Berenice!

You’re very welcome – I find that some polishes really look different depending on the light. And while sunlight photos are pretty, unfortunately, we’re not all in the sunlight for most of the day. So it’s nice to know how it’ll look the majority of the time on your nails. πŸ™‚ I’m glad that you found what you were looking for! Happy to help!
