What do you do when you’re tired of a mani but are too lazy to change colors? You add something different to it and say the results were your intentions all along. Anyone? No? Maybe it’s just me…

At least that’s what happened with this mani… I was sporting the lovely L.A. Colors Enchanting for the fourth day and was getting bored of it. (BTW, no chipping at all and only slight tip wear.) Then I remembered I haven’t tried L.A. Girl Aqueous yet. At first I didn’t think the sky blue glitter would complement the rose-gold bronze/reddish purple duochrome, but I actually ended up liking the contrast! What do you think?

LA Girl Glitter Addict Aqueous Review

LA Girl Glitter Addict Aqueous has no color, but the glitter particles are a bright baby-blue shade that twinkles against the light. The glitter and the flash on my camera had a contest to out-sparkle each other, and I think the glitter won. The reflection almost blinded my camera!

I love that there are two different sizes of glitter – one’s teeny tiny and the other is of a larger hexagon. I like this because it adds a sort of randomness to the look.

Application of L.A. Girl Glitter Addict Aqueous is quite simple. I’ve tried many glitter polishes where the brush just drags the glitter around. You basically have to dab on where you want the glitter. But Aqueous is different – the glittery particles stay where you first apply them.

You only need 1-2 coats of this. If you load the brush with enough glitter, you can cover the entire nail with 1 coat. On some nails, I went over for a 2nd time to ensure no nail space was left unglitterfied.

Make sure that there are no hexagon pieces sticking out at the end of the nail though. Those can feel razor sharp – almost like you have claws!

When I wore LA Girl Purge, I didn’t put on a top coat. As with Purge, Aqueous doesn’t feel super rough and gritty. The glitter lies quite flat, so if you don’t want to TC it, it’s not a huge deal. I decided to add a TC for Aqueous just to see the difference, and I like the smoother finish more. Plus, I find that the glossy TC brings out the shine in the glitter!

Liking LA Girl Aqueous on top of LA Colors Enchanting surprised me. And now I really think that you can pair this blue glitter with almost any color. It’s a simple step that turns any color into something more visually interesting. I’m going to try it with a whole whack of other polishes!

  • Non-animal-testing brand
  • Toluene-, DBP- & formaldehyde-free
  • Brush doesn’t drag glitter particles, so it’s easy to apply
  • Only needs 1 coat if you’re careful
  • Complements many different shades
  • Glitter comes in 2 sizes for dimension
  • Pretty color

  • Needs a top coat if you like the finish to be completely smooth
  • Can make your nails feel sharper if glitter is left sticking out

Final Verdict: 9.4/10

I’m loving that a simple glitter coat adds more versatility and variety to my nail-polish collection. I think this is a cool shade to have since, of course, I love blue!

What do you think of the contrast of blue against Enchanting? What other polish would you wear this with?

Love this combo! I wouldn’t think these two colors would look good together but they do! I think this glitter would look great on top of a green or yellow maybe. Oh, and whenever I get bored and lazy about a mani I do the same thing, just add something on top of it! 🙂

      Hi Katie!

This was an unexpected surprise for me, too! I’ll definitely try this on top of a green and yellow in the future and post it up here. Thanks for the suggestions. 🙂

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s lazy! Hahha.

Unexpected but very nice! I like how it’s a possible 1-coater glitter and the versatility. This made me realize I didn’t own any colored glitter polish and I might have to rectify that! 😉

Also, my manis usually only last 3-4 days till I feel the urge to change things up again and layering over it is fast and easy gratification. (On that note, I just found out that layering silver shatter over mood polish makes for a really fun mix. :D)

Yes, Carmela! Glitter polish is awesome! It adds such variety to your collection. 😛

I love easy ways of giving manis a kick. Do you have swatches of your nails with silver shatter and mood polish? I’d love to see them!
